- Thank you SO MUCH for spending some time with me!! Thank you @HelloFromLizMathews for everything! There are not enough heart emojis in the world for you!
I started my ig @Xoneedleinthehayxo to document my needlework not expecting to find such a supportive and inclusive community. I have enjoyed your energy so very much and wanted to contribute and give back here as you all do. I strive to create a safe space for all to come and enjoy the fun, lightness and healing that needlework brings us.
xoxo,
A

Annie, you are adorable. Your enthusiasm and joy is contagious 😊! Who could be sad when watching you? I enjoyed seeing all of your projects - quite the variety and complexity. Those Dimension kits are serious work😮! I did a couple of their kits years ago, but much simpler. It’s nice to watch you too because you don’t have a fancy matching bag for every project. You have some with very neat floss & some a bit of a mess - real life. But ALL are so beautiful & I see you treasure them. I still enjoy watching those who have stitched for years with all the stuff, however sometimes it feels a little “excess” to me. I won’t stop watching though - you all are very inspiring & so much better to watch than other options. Many blessings on your FlossTube journey-I have a feeling you will become a favorite with many. ❤
Thank you so much for watching my episodes!! ❤ I’m so glad that my messes are not off putting 😂 I think so much about “excess” and I want to remember to always stay true to myself and not get caught up in all the stuff that can be so alluring! In many ways, that’s why I love to watch Flosstubes- because I can experience the goodies just vicariously 😂 Thank you again for tuning in to multiple episodes and leaving such nice words for me to carry through my day. 😊
You’re adorable Annie!! Long Dogs are my favorite. I would definitely stick with 2 threads on the 20 count.
Thank you so much for spending time with us! I am LOVING the long dog stitch. I see many more in my future!
Annie to answer your question some people call half stitch a tent stitch. But on the back a tent stitch and a half stitch are different. Half stitch will usually be |||||| on the back a tent stitch will usually be on / / / or \ \ \ on the back the diagonal on the back crosses over under your next stitch. 😊
Thank you so much for watching and for the awesome info!! You made it so easy for me to visualize and differentiate half vs. tent. ❤😊
@@Xoneedleinthehayxo you’re very welcome and a very enjoyable first floss. There’s lots of tutorials on Tent stitch and it’s like everything else floss tube so many ways of explaining
That WIP parade was super fun and I am thoroughly enabled! For the dimensions SAL I took supplies from my needlepoint stash and put that stiff Aida into a wooden stretcher bar frame attached with brass tacks. Then I just put that in my lowery stand and it works so well!!!
Thank you so much for spending time with us and for your Dimensions SAL tips! That Aida is another beast, isn’t it?! Still love it though 😂 I hope you’ll join us for the second episode! 😊
I would make a pillow with your London stitch.
Thank you for tuning in and visiting the comments! A pillow is such a good idea for the full coverage pieces!
Hi annie. Welcome! Ca nt wait to see more! Thanks
Hi! Thank you so much for stopping by the comments section and spending time with us! I’m already looking forward to filming the second episode 😊
Nash Stash! 😂 This was a fun visit. Welcome to Flosstube! Oh you're thinking of the Hathaway Stitchers. They definitely enabled me on some Charlie Harper patterns.

Enjoyed the chemistry between you two!! FYI: the Long Dog Life After Death pattern refers to a previous Long Dog release called Death by Cross Stitch!!
Thank you so much for watching and for the tip! Now I will have to go find “Death” 😂 Did you see a new Long Dog was released today?? Uh oh!
Congratulations on starting your own channel! Loved seeing yours and Liz’s WIPs! ❤
So great you started a flosstube! I’m loving this duo too 😊 I can relate with the thrifty girl attitude & I’m also such a Jacob fan! I’m excited to start the Mill Hill SAL, my first Mill Hill kit. I’ve been waiting for the right time to do the couple I have. Thanks for sharing your WIPS! Can’t wait to see more!
Thank you so much for tuning in and commenting! I can’t wait to see your Mill Hills. It was so much harder than I expected 😂😅. I hope to get better over time, but my hands hurt now!
@@Xoneedleinthehayxo oh no, I might be in for a challenge eh 😬

Super fun flosstube! I love all your projects! Can't wait to see your completed stitch of the porcelain dogs. I actually managed to score a vintage pair of dogs last year and they're so beautiful.
Thank you so much for tuning in, Kine!! The porcelain dogs are so fun to stitch and you are so lucky to have found a pair! I’m keeping my eyes peeled . . . ❤

Welcome to Flosstube!! I enjoyed this so much and loved everything you're both stitching on! In fact, you stitchfluenced me into getting the Blackbird Fraktur by Plum Street Samplings 😂I'm so happy you decided to join JuneDog! Your piece is looking fab! #junedog #junedogsal
Hi!! Thank you so so much for watching! I’m so sorry I forgot your IG handle when mentioning #junedog! I completely had camera freeze! I am happy to know you’ve been stitchfluenced 😂 -That pattern is so fun to stitch on- the candelabra! The bird detail! Can’t wait to see your progress on it- I really flew through it somehow. Enjoy! I’m about to go stitch on JuneDog this afternoon 😊
@@Xoneedleinthehayxo No worries! I can't wait for the pattern to come. I ordered all the flosses and have fabric in my stash so I'm ready to go when it gets in!
Hi Annie and Liz! I enjoyed your first flosstube! I’m a silk fan too. Have you tried Vikki Clayton silks? They are wonderful and reasonably priced. I look forward to your next video. ❤
Hi! Thank you so much for watching and stopping in the comments section- I haven’t tried Vikki Clayton silks ever, but thank you so much for the tip! I’m always looking to save where I can because that means I can purchase more patterns for my stash! 😂😊
Congrats on your new floss tube!
Thank you so much for spending time with us! I hope you’ll join us for the second episode soon!
Great to meet you! Can't wait to see your progress on your lovely wips. Wouldn't we all have flosstubes if Liz could sit with us through our first video! Lol
Thank you so much for spending time with us! And you’re right- I’m soooo lucky to have Liz with me on my very first go- I’m willing to share her if she’s ok with it 😂 She made a scary experience easy and fun. ❤
Congratulations on your first flosstube! I love your unique patterns and listening to you with your good friend was fun! ~Michele
Thank you so much for spending time with us! ❤ I am so happy to be able to share a look at some of my patterns with the world 😊
I am very familiar with Dimensions models. I worked at Aunt Mary's Yarns and Crafts (which no longer exists) as the store manager. Most stitch models were done in Haiti because of the low cost. The people in Haiti were glad to have the job and they loved their work.
Love your Flosstube Annie!!! Love you too Liz!!!!
Thank you so much for spending time with me and for this incredible tidbit of info about the Dimensions models! Those stitchers are so talented!❤
Hi Annie! Welcome to Flosstube! I am so excited to see all your projects, you are very inspiring. I hope to meet you and Liz, perhaps at our LNS, sometime soon!
Thank you so much for watching and commenting! You know I never have to twist Liz’s arm to go to the LNS 😂❤
Such a great video!! Thank you for having the courage!! I love your projects! I truly enjoyed watching and hope to see more videos from you!
Thank you so so much for watching and commenting! 😊 You are so kind and I hope to share more stitchy goodness soon! And hope Liz will join me again- ha!
This is awesome! Love all the stitches and the excitement for a new flosstube! Can't wait to see more! Fabulous!
Thank you so much for watching! I’m already excited to share more. I might have toooo much to share. 😂
@@Xoneedleinthehayxo Never! Shows us all the things!!
fun video! happy to see you here. just FYI, so you don't get alarmed, I believe the grid takes some time to soak away... double check the instructions. I don't think a quick dab will remove it. best wishes. xoxo
Thank yuh so much for tuning in and the tip! I definitely would have grown very anxious at the grid lines not coming out right away so I’m so glad you warned me!
Great video - thank you both for sharing your works in progress and finishes and project bags and everything else! Looking forward to the next one! x
Thank you so much for spending time with us! I’m already so excited to film another 😊
Grided aida softens with handling. I absolutely love it, and not just for full coverage projects. The grid lines come out with a good soaking. Some people say it only comes out with hot water but I have only ever used luke warm or cool, and have had no issues!
Thank you so much for watching and stopping in the comments section! I’m so relieved to get some reassurance and tips on the gridded Aida- I definitely would use it again and glad to hear that it will soften over time- guess that means I just need to stitch on it more!
Welcome to flosstube! Hi Liz! 🌺🪡🧵
Thank you so much for the warm welcome and stopping by the comments section!😊
Yay !! So excited to watch 🎉 A first video is not an easy thing so congrats for doing it and I’m sure there are some amazing projects to discover 😊 xx
Love from France
Thank you so very much for watching all the way from beautiful France! I dream of visiting some stitchy shops in France one day.
So enjoying your first FlossTube! Welcome. Your work is so beautiful. Love that the two of you are besties!
Thank you so much for spending time with us!😊
Love your excitment and your stitching is perfection!!!! Looking forward to more flosstubes!! You have a great friend in Liz
Thank you so much for spending time with us and your kind words! I’m already excited to film again and hoping Liz will join me! 😊
🎉🎉🎉 I’ve been anxiously waiting for this!
Thank you so much for inspiring me and giving me the courage! ❤
So nice to meet you on floss tube! Very exciting for you and I love your energy! Lovely stitching and how fun to have Liz there with you!❤
Thank you so much for spending time with us and allowing me to share my work with you you! I hope you’ll come back for round two! 😊
I just know this video is going to be awesome!! ❤😍
Ahhh! Thank you so much. ❤❤❤
Yay!!!! So excited for this ❤ Welcome to Flosstube 🎉🎉🎉
Oh my goodness- Thank you so much! Your flosstube is such an inspiration to me!
Such a nice first video! Btw, I'm a thrifty gal too. I stitch almost always on Aida and with DMC. I can keep buying plenty charts. But, not if I gotta have all the linens and fancy flosses!
Anyway, I'm excited to see you do more videos! I'll be watching 😀
Thank you so much for watching- from one thrifty gal to another 😊 And thank you so much stopping in the comments too! ❤
Great first video! I’ve been stitching since the mid 90’s. I remember the Dimensions kit, Christmas Cove in a bag. It’s so funny to see the young people discover older items. Y’all were fun to watch together. I do have a side note. I looked up Christmas Cove and found a Ukraine Etsy shop selling the digital pattern. Hmmmm
Thank you so much for spending time with us! 😂😂😂 Honestly, I’m still amazed by the Dimensions shopping bag- now I think I need one for myself too. I hope you’ll stop by for episode 2 soon!😊
Welcome to flosstube ! ❤❤❤and great projects ! So glad you have moral support from Liz first flosstube can be very scary 🎉🎉🎉🎉 you did great ! The grid lines will come off at the end when you wash it, just make sure you are using a color fast thread ❤
Thank you so so much for watching! I’m so glad the grid lines will come off, but I didn’t realize I would be so nervous about actually washing it now 😂- I’ve never washed a piece before! I’m using DMC 310 so hopefully we will be ok. 😊
@@Xoneedleinthehayxo you will be totally fine ! And my first time I was terrified but as long as is color fast you should be ✅ ok, some people say even if is color fast to wash red color threads before stitching if you are going to wash your pc afterwords ♥️
Tent stitch is actually a term for needlepoint but is used interchangeably with
half stitch. When you do a row of half stitches then come back across to finish them, that is called the Danish method. If you complete each x that is the English method. Great first video!
@@KayeTaylorEThank you so much for watching and for the tip!! Now I know I can do these patterns I’ve been looking at and am going to get them immediately 😂 Also just learned that I’m an English style stitcher 😊 I hope you’ll join us for the second episode when it comes out!
I'll be watching for it!
On the Dimensions SAL Aida…before I started stitching, I filled my bathroom sink with barely warm water and inserted the fabric and laid it as flat as possible. I let it soak for 30-40 minutes. I hung it to dry over a big round and clean shower curtain rod. It’s perfectly soft…not too soft.
Thank you for this tip! I will definitely try it for the Toy Shoppe kit-now I REALLY can hardly wait to start it 😊 Thank you so much for watching!
@@Xoneedleinthehayxo I just ordered and received the Toy Shoppe too!
@@Xoneedleinthehayxo I forgot to say…..I am so glad you started a FlossTube!! I enjoyed seeing your WIPs. I took a photo of model of Consider the Lilies when I was at The Silver Needle (my LNS) recently. It’s one I really want to do. Yours looks amazing!
Loved your first video! Look forward to many more ❤
Thank you so much for spending time with me and stopping in the comments section! I hope to be able to bring you more entertaining episodes! 🖤
I am so glad I found you on Midsummer Stitch. Great first video!
Thank you so very much for spending time with me at Midsummer Stitch and on UA-cam! 🖤
I loved watching every minute of this. Annie, could you link the jewelry box you used as a base for your Halloween box? Thank you!
Thank you so much for spending time with us! Absolutely! I’m including the link for the box I got. The thrifty gal in me has to let you know that I waited for this to go on sale and I got lucky! I got mine for a few bucks off of what it’s listed at now. I also believe this company makes several different size boxes. They come in so many colors. Have fun! a.co/d/esj03HN
Yayyyy. ❤❤🎉🎉
Your flosstube is an inspiration!!
What an awesome first flosstube! Loved all the wips, but really enjoyed the chatting between stitching friends!
Congratulations on your new Flosstube! Such a great dynamic between you two! Loved watching and can't wait for more!
Long Dog Samplers has a chart called “Death by Cross Stitch,” which was put out to celebrate their 20th anniversary. The next year, they put out “Life After ‘Death’” - for those who “survived” Death by Cross Stitch!
Best friends…how long have you known each other and how did you meet?
I calculated that we’ve known each other over 20 years! Over half our lives or more 😅 we met in college where we were also making things side by side ❤
@@Xoneedleinthehayxo that’s so very special..it’s obvious you care for each other .
