For anyone not wondering, "retard" is an obsolete medical term meaning a delayed mental aging. Technically, "retard" means anything being delayed but that is its common meaning. Also, "ritardando" (pronounced like "retard" but spelt differently) is a musical symbol used to denote a gradual decrease of speed.
