Thank you Eric, can’t wait to see how different a frame back is from the hollow grounds. I have that wedge or near wedge arriving today I believe and also a kamisori! Lot of projects. Cheers my friend
Thanks for sharing. With the lower grits, it can be a two edge sword. Sure they can take steel off quickly, but then you have the chance of it micro chipping the edge. Which can make you spend more time with the mid range stones to get the scratches and chips out. Either way, when you are dealing with restoration work, you are going to be spending some time cleaning up the bevel. I have a few John Engstrom razors, regular and frame backs, and they shave nicely. They do well with ark stones. They take on a smooth, crisp edge. Because of the good steel, I feel that they can take a bit more, or pushed further, than some other vintage razors. Its always exciting getting new stones. I am looking forwards to you sharing what you have gotten. I hope that your week goes well and it doesn't get you too down. Hang in there man and take care.
Thank you so much my friend! You don't know how much this comment has helped, I actually shaved with it today and it wasnt that great but i'm sure it was user error... I'll be honing some more and trying out an ark edge on it. I think you're right and I need to push it further. Cheers!
Taking the week one day at a time! I’ll make a shaving video with the frame back probably today and will post maybe tonight or tomorrow. Excited to see how different frame backs are. Thanks for watching my friend!
Vintage razors can really be a hit or miss for me… lately thinking of getting new razors instead of vintage but yes with vintage tape seems to be the way to go for me as well. Cheers my friend and happy start to the week
Ive got a few framebacks but only one or two shave me really well , ( its probably just me ). Thanks for the call out Sean 😊 we are all learning and helping each other 🎉
Great content Sean. Can’t wait to see that razor in action. It’s hard to beat the feeling of accomplishment you get from restoring a vintage razor.

Nice video Sean. I almost always use tape on a vintage razor.
