I built one like that but I cut the exhaust pipe and ran flex exhaust pipe to a minibike expansion chamber. With the smaller drive sprocket it did 35 mph all day!
I like the way that's all put together it looks like there was hardly any modifications whatsoever I bet that must be fun to ride something that I've always wanted to do to a Schwinn Stingray.
Much easier to add a 500watt 20" front hub, add a thumb throttle and brakes on front wheel like you did. Then under seat flying rack 36 volt 12ah battery and controller wiring and you got an E-ray. This can be done in an hour.
@@SouthernCustomCC checked many 1,ooo watt motor kits, much faster building an e ray, beware the torque on the dropuns. I would go with a 350 watt. Just searched and somebody just made a stingray with a 1000 watt front hub kit. Exactly as i mentioned. It looks very kewl
Go into the grass trimmer section and get a 4 mm brigs and statton filter, they are shorter profile and will work. I had this issue on my fatmoto frame with built in gas tank.
Awesome! I'll check that out today. I'd rather have one then not have one, but he stock filter wouldn't allow flow no matter how I set it up. Thanks for the input and being a part of the community!
There is not much else you will need besides the bike and engine kit. You'll need an offset intake, 6” 17-18mm gas rated tube, and a shim (could be rubber or a pipe with he same diameter) for Tue rear mounting bracket. Then if you want a front brake, just pick one up on eBay for like $10. Everything else comes with the kit. I hope that helps! The is for watching, and hit me up if you have more questions. 😎👍
Great build, could you share with us a tutorial built of this schiwn #20, or a step by step, process, thanks, southern, customs, say hello joe, from panama.
I've been building my own using bratz lowrider bikes with 20 inch huffy cranbrook rims and tins, and 80cc engine... not sure how to add pics to comments tho...
With a 44t sprcket...wheelies are absolutely possible...with the 36t you can get some front tire lift action for sure--especially if you bigger like me and there is a lot of weight on the back.
Thanks for watching! The 100 WILL NOT fit on this bike. The Monkey Fist engine sits best in this bike with a frame shim. Best of luck and happy building 😁
Very cool. Love the frame color. Very nice job on the motor installation. I snagged a 2020 reissue Sting Ray (blue/silver with the late 1970's style chain guard and white sparkle/blue 'S' logo and racing stripe seat) and would like to dress it up a bit. Where did you get the retro-style chrome bullet headlight?
Vibrations and thin metal. If the fenders are not closely watched and tightness is not maintained, the mounting bracket of the fender can fail....which means the part that is attached to your fender that holds it secure to the bike is broken. Which then means the fender is not supported up. It then falls onto a rubber tire going 35mph+. The fender gets sucked in toward the fork at that speed. The Fender can then get stuck in the fork bring you and the bike to an immediate stop. If you are not prepared... Over the bars you go! The rear fenders are sometimes more reliable because of side mounting brackets, too. But not always! Safer to run without them IMO. Happy riding.
@@SouthernCustomCC ah, ok. That makes total sense. Tomorrow I will be removing my rear fender as it shakes and rattles like crazy but, I had not thought it all the way thru. Thank you!
Sweet 👍 I got an original startfire 66cc from 2009 on a 26" cruiser im restoring, do you think a generic banana seat kit and sissy bar would fit that ? Or I would need to find one made for 26" bikes ? Thanks
Awesome deal! Would love to see pics when done. I'd recommend staying with he 26” banana seat. They sell them on gasbike.net and bikeberry.com. Might look a little off if it's not the right ratio. Happy building!
Just wondering why you didn't paint the gas tank. Also does it have the two speed kick back rear hub? I wondered how that hub would work with an engine. I've been wanting to do a bike with one of those hubs.
: I had to d the same, Nick, when I used a nexus 3 speed as well. I purchased--i believe--a 1-1/2” steel circle bit and drill pressed it to fit around the hub. This particular bike does not have gears...it is just a single speed cruiser. Thanks for commenting! Happy riding
Great video on schiwn rims #20 if you due to make a video on boys 24 inch rims motorize bike would be great tbhanks great job, show how you instal the schin motor, step by step, thanks, loe
This is sooo cool; great work! I’m so excited. I’m going to be doing the same build on the exact same bike when my kit comes in the mail next week and I was so glad to find this video that I can refer back to as I put it all together. I was hoping you could maybe give me a way to contact you in case of any questions? One of which being why you opted for no front fender? (Sorry if that’s a dumb question but I’m new to modifying bicycles so I’m a bit clueless right now other than the few things my stepfather has told me since he tinkers/buys&sells old bikes.) @@richardmacdaniel4479 I didn’t realize that at first because my bike was still in the box when I had commented but I’ve now got it all together and running strong 🤝

Do you use the cut-off allan wrench to secure the right bolt in tight enough? Because if that bolt by the ’bent’ side isn't secure enough, you could have an air leak. You can purchase an extra 5mm (I believe off the top of my head) allan wrench and cut of enough of the tip with a hacksaw or grinder. Then you can fit it in and tighten the bolt properly. Just a suggestion, but maybe you already have done that.
If your local I have them. Otherwise, keep checking Walmart website for the bike and buy an engine kit from me. Then give yourself an afternoon to build it! Thanks for watching.
Except it’s not a krate model and this one is only 125 from Walmart for some less quality parts, which is cheaper than the amazon ones and the krate one by more than $400
Thanks for watching. Because the frame diameter is smaller, I used the front engine mount adaptor and a shim in the rear. You can use a rubber wrap or a metal pipe spliced in half that is the same diameter as the frame on the backside of the motor. Hope that helps! Happy building
Thanks for watching! I cut the crappy black one off with a razor blaze, the used a lot of wd40 inside the new grip and on the throttle. Then shoved it on. Hope this helps!
Mine doesnt like to idle like that. Idk why. It just likes to run while in motion. And when I use the clutch the engine starts running really fast, Made me pop a wheelie and scared the hell out of me.
I had the same issue and it wasn't my carburettor, no matter what I did to adjust that tick over screw it ran away on choke and sometimes ran away on revs when I pressed the clutch in other times it would just stall out. I checked everywhere for an air leak and this also sounds like you issue . I changed gaskets to find the base gasket had broken in half allowing an air leak .. so I rebuilt it with all fresh gaskets . I'm running a hp carburettor, if you are then that won't work with a standard length throttle cable , will need to do some modifications to the top of your carb, it's easy if you need to do it let me know
@RUCKUSSAY AUDEO RODEO there's not a screw cap on top of my carb I'm running a HP carburettor.. it was an air leak at the base gasket.. I brought a complete new gasket set.. stripped it down and replaced them all .. it now runs fine.. :)
Well shit... I'm not looking forward to taking the engine off and checking all this. I have a lowrider bicycle and there very little room for the engine and carb. I think I need a new carb intake manifold. Mines all ghetto looking with copper pipes and jb welded together. I knew it was a dumb idea.
Yes, you can put a CNC sprocket on it. Just make sure you order the right size for your hub. You'd want maybe a 32-34 sprocket because with a 44 you may be popping wheelies! Have fun 😎👍
It would've gotten a like by me if you would've used a66cc engine instead of that 49cc,an you had to have seen that muffler shaking like that, and black hose instead of blue,,,on that color frame that blue just jumps out
There is a sense and a manner in which this bike is more attractive than a Harley.
