- Shell Helix HX6 is a new engine oil for cars from Shell and we decided to put it in test on the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R and Celerio. The Wagon R and Celerio both have got 1.0 L K Series 3 cylinder engine. The engine oil capacity is around 3L. Shell says the Shell Helix HX6 helps to prolong the engine life of modern vehicles in demanding daily driving conditions by protecting against wear. It is also suitable for use in modern direct injection turbocharged gasoline engines where is provides protection against damaging low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI).

Greetings from Dubai. I use the HX8 5w40 regularly on my turbo Alfa Romeo Guilietta for almost 3 years. All I can say it’s an amazing oil. My other car is a focus ST turbo n it’s nearly 350 whp. Have been putting the recommended 5w30
Castrol on it but recently I have switched to the semi HX6 10W40. It’s been a month now and all I can say the oil definitely due to its higher viscosity helps in fighting the negative effects of fuel dilution on engine oils,and copying with the bearing fatigue or oil
Consumption especially in modern GDI forced induction engines.
I have been using Castrol Magnatec 0w20 for my 2021 WagonR, i am completely satisfied with its performance. Though our usage is mainly highway.
I have tried Total quartz 0w20 in my Ciaz and performance is good....next time i plan to use either Idemitsu zepro or Motul on 0W20 grade

Not sure how the prices compare but Shell does have a 0W20 (C5 rating)
The only 0W20 I have used was liqui moly, but since my car doesn't require it I have since gone back to thicker oil (for better protection).
After watching your lab test video on Shell Advance ultra 10W40 i used it on Activa 6G as this oil has highest MOS2 and my god, my Activa engine is butter smooth. You videos are of next level in terms of quality of the content.

I am using the HX6 5w 30 on my honda amaze 2021 model. It's a decent oil with good performance. I got 18km per liter in highway and 12 to 15 km in chennai traffic. I normally use till 5000k and change it. Because this oil is budget friendly. I saw significant reduced noise and vibrations.
How we can use these good aftermarket oils as company service center won't allow externally purchased oil.

Hi I have recently purchased a honda city type2 (z) 1.5exi 2003 it's has clocked 82k+ geniune on odo i wanted to know which engine oil grade is best suitable for this vehicle grade and quantity
2ndly which gear oil grade to use synthetic or semi- synthetic, company recommendation is to us honda genuine MTF or else 10w30 or 10w40 if genuine gear oil isn't available i spoke to service advisor at honda they also have no idea regarding the gear oil grade as it's is no mentioned on the geniune honda MTF please help regarding this thankyou ❤

Hi... Although i had done small research and Realized that.
Using for eg. 0w20 SN+ or Higher API grade oils in older 5w30 recommended cars will only give positive results and no negative.
+VE Higher economy, better acceleration and same amount of wear and tear
-VE marginal higher NVH,
I DON'T HAVE LAB RESULTS but it will be great if u try on ur Ritz

I'm have ordered shell helix hx8 0w20 C5 ah diesel for hyundai recommend. I guess it's semi synthetic engine oil any idea about performance I'm switching from idemitsu ifd 5w30 to 0w20 hyundai creta recommended specs only down side was fuel mileage .
I have splendor 2016 model and i have used hero genuine engine oil, now i am using gulf pride engine oil.
About performance is not good. Starting 200-400km is good smoothness after 500km smoothness goes away and hard gear sift. And all thing is ok like chian lube, air pressure etc.

I have used this oil in my i10 1.2...my i10 runs daily 5 to 10 kms...and I changed it in 1 year and car runned 7k on that oil...and the performance of oil was quiet good...I have 1 litre used oil remaining and if i compare its quality then also after running for 7k...it lubrication properties was still like new...only color changed...now my mechanic has used shell helix taxi oil bcoz he said that this oil is good for city runs...lets see how will it come after 1 year of usage
Even the WagonR has got similar low running with short city drives and the oil is performing well.

I've 2011wagon R with K10 b iteration. Have been using this oil for last 2 oil changes. Served me well. Service interval is about 10000 kms bith city run abouts and highway driving. Engine is silent considering it has clogged over 1300000 kms. But the mileage in city is anything to talk about

I have discussed this with my peers and professionals from the industry where they have confirmed that both 1.2 & 1.0 K Series are capable of handling 0W-20 & 5W-30.

Bro can I use castrol 5w40 power1 ultimate scooter synthetic engine oil for honda aviator 2015 model does it create problem for engine .before I use castrol activ scooter engine oil
This is the case with both Castrol and Motul where they have offered their synthetic scooter oils only in 5W-40 and both the manufacturer claim this to be compatible with Honda Scooters.

My Mt-15's front tyre keeps losing air despite having no leaks or punctures. I've taken it to multiple tyre shops but no one can find leaks. Tbey tell me it's common in tubeless tyres but i think it's just a lie. What should i do??
Check air inlet valve. Most common problem in tubeless tyres. If it is damaged, replace the valve
