  • Hopefully this will take up some time as you are all sitting in your homes from corona-virus ;)
    ... It certainly did for me!
    Sorry it has been so long, school has taken up a ton of time! I made an algorithm for quantum computing that can factor a number in linear time (an improvement on Shor's algorithm!) so, I'll present that to you all soon when I finish my paper for publication.
    Be safe, I'll see you all soon! ❤️
    Also, special thanks to Brigham Young University for allowing me to use some of their optics equipment!
    Information for the Video:
    Free Optics Book I used: optics.byu.edu/BYUOpticsBook_...
    (chapter 8 talks about this, its a great read!)

    You are a good teacher. A lot of teachers explain things in complicated terminology. For which many dont learn from. You explain it in the complicated way then explain the complicated explaination in a simplier way. I like your teaching method!!! Keep it up!!!

    actually yes you helped a lot, i honestly searched in the past quite a few info about building a michelson interferometer, but i always found too little or way too many informations (not really for a diy project), you managed to put the essentials to understand it, but not just the general concept that i hope everyone has (for example i had a bit of trouble with the optics part, and bam you pretty much explained practically everything i needed). GJ mate

    From experimentig on my own I found out that if you want to calculate the wavelength of a laser you are better off building a Lloyd interferometer. It is way easier since you dont need very precise lense equipment. I used the disk from an old HDD for the reflective surface!

    TBH, I never thought I’d hear from you again... you know, your channel was the inspiration for my own back in the early days.
    If I may deign to critique your video, your results could be much crisper if you used a gas laser (HeNe or somesuch) and put a spatial filter out front. Also, once upon a time when I recorded lasers, I found that bringing the camera exposure way down reveals more highlight detail.
    Still, I liked it. Still up for making videos like the old days?

    2 things, 1. What exactly is an "Electron Volt" and how is it measured/used, 2. Why are batteries only Direct current and not Alternating current? Thank you.

    • @Flash-FAFB
      @Flash-FAFB 4 роки тому

      Electrons are the smallest of the particles that make up an atom, and they carry a negative charge.
      It is measured by the current they produced (electron charge)

    • @Flash-FAFB
      @Flash-FAFB 4 роки тому

      Battery are DC, because for AC you would need a constant change of polarity (negative to positive) for the frequency that we normal use (50-60Hz). AC runs just like in the oscilloscope in this video goes above and below 0 (change of polarity). Batteries are Direct current (DC - electricity that flows in one direction, and does not switch back and forth) because we don't have to switch polarities.

    7:42 jsyk "more simple things" means something different than what you intended to say by "simpler things". For some reason, the younger generation is afraid to use qualifiers. Probably cuz it adds one extra syllable to the word and the younger generations have difficulty with English comprehension, reading, and writing.
