Father Lazarus is a great blessing for me . The holiness is obvious in him , and yet he seems like a ' real person ' . The sort of man you could listen to for hours , like he was a guy friend . I hope that makes sense .

What an amazing gift. I have been studying the Desert Fathers and Mothers for some time as a protestant clergy. These words and the life of Father Lazarus truly resonate with the soul and spirit of all who want to know God. Lord Jesus, Son of the Almighty, have mercy on me, a sinner.

GOD is Great! really! Imagine, all the monks there in Serbia...but HE picked Fr Lazarus in particular and sent him HIS good messangers, because GOD knows Fr Lazarus was seeking GOD from all his heart with all his heart, mind and soul. In other words fr Lazarus had the true love of GOD and GOD did not leave him nor did he forsake him like HE promised to the faithful, so HE lead him the right path on the right time...GOD never fails to amaze me always..waw...Glory to GOD!!! Amen.

Even as an atheist I think he's interesting. A kind of Coptic equivalent of Fr. Seraphim Rose.

Calling a priest a father is not a literal meaning, it is only refereeing to him as a pastor. This is the Coptic belief

This passage must be read in context, There are videos about it. But to be clear. Paul had a spiritual son Timothy that means Timothys spiritual Father is Paul. The bible uses the term fathers and Father Abraham etc. If you take this litteral that means you cannot use the word father at all. Not even to your father. The spirituality is vanishing in the west and all these "sola scriptura" arguments is a lack of context. What Jesus meant is seen in the passages before how he said Listen to them but dont do as they do (pharisees). Because they were hypocrites who did the oppisit of what they said. The ultimate Fatherhood is in the Father God. And all fatherly characteristics are ultimatly from him therefore Spiritual father and biological father is something that Builds up and is Good, but do not call ppl father who does against God because then their fatherhood is no longer fatherhood. I hjope this answer made sense. There are good works and studies on this especially on the (Coptic answers page).
