Got a question for you. I just bought a new se raptor 700r. I've been breaking it in an noticed when feather the clutch a bit to take off it minor hiccup but if I let out very slow and barley give gas it's fine. Once I'm riding I have no issues. I am only using 1/4 to 1/3 throttle for the first 10 hours. Has the expected power for the 1/4 throttle. I'm just wondering if it's normal while everything is seated in? Also I have not rev out machine or went in high rpms. What's your thoughts or anyone else. Thanks
My rear shock is stock but my front shocks are OEM revalves by Rocket Ron. I think he did a great job setting up the front. I hope to have him do the rear. Having a shock builder set up your OEM shocks can be quite effective and it’s cheaper then going full aftermarket. I don’t race so it’s a great option for myself. If your looking to compete and really push the limits then getting aftermarket shocks is probably the best choice. I know Ron set up Michael Sabo’s shocks on his KFX450 and they turned out great! Basically you can just call Ron, tell him your set up/needs, and he’ll come up with a strategy that’s best for you. He’s been in the industry since before quads existed so he knows his stuff! Hope this helps! 🤘
There should be some POV footage of the bigger jump in other videos if you search the track. I was so tempted to hit it but 4th gear tapped coming out of that corner was buggin me out 😅 hopefully next time! 😬🤞
dirtbike only every other saturday . like bikes dont have enough tracks for them only . this is just the start of this track not letting quads ride . been there done that seen way too many tracks do the same . if the bike riders cant ride on a track with quads , maybe they should be on the pee wee track
It’s definitely a never ending debate between the quads and the bikes. I do think for safety purposes it can be good to keep us separate depending on abilities out on the track. They like ruts and we blow them out. Unfortunately the bikers need to be catered to because there’s so many more bike riders than quad riders.. they help keep the tracks in business but slowly we’re losing tracks to ride quads. This track in particular is managed by quad riders thankfully and will continue to allow quads into the foreseeable future👍
Not it’s not necessary but you do stand quite a bit when your track riding so if you feel hunched over or uncomfortable then you may want to look into taller bars, bar risers, or a taller steering stem depending on how you want to set yourself up 😊👍
Hey Pete , having a hard time deciding on which quad to get. I do mostly trail riding and don’t know if I should get the raptor 700 or the yfz450. Do you have any input ?
Hey Avery, it can be tough to choose between the 2 machines. The Raptor is definitely at home in the trails. It’s perfect for more casual riding and has tons of torque which makes climbs and drag racing quite a bit of fun! It’s also nice to have that power in the sand. The main draw back to the Raptor would be its handling. It can be a little top heavy depending on how hard you’re riding it. It has limits on a handling and suspension level that the YFZ does not. The YFZ handles on rails and is very easy to ride. It’s also a bit stiffer which is nice for performance but it’s not the most comfortable if your gonna be on it all day. The YFZ is a very on/off machine and doesn’t like to be lugged around like the Raptor can be. The nice thing about the YFZ is nothing is really off limits. You can pound whoops and jumps all day and the machine seems to handle everything with ease. Reliability wise the Raptor is a bit lower maintenance and most people expect to get quite a few more hours out of a Raptor motor than a YFZ motor. If I’m deciding between the quads it really depends on the environment and my mood almost. If I’m exploring a new area or feeling more chill then the Raptor is perfect for the job since it’s so comfortable and has the power for any situation. If I know I’m gonna be in a more track like environment with jumps and berms then I tend to want the YFZ since it’s safer and more predictable when riding more aggressively. Essentially one is a muscle and one is a sports car. If you have any specific questions don’t hesitate to ask! 😊👍
It really depends on what type of riding I’m doing. I spent a year deciding between the YFZ and the Raptor. I knew I wanted a “mainstream” brand like Honda or Yamaha because aftermarket parts availability is more plentiful and customizing your machine is half the fun! After fully experiencing those models I still would lean towards the Raptor as my primary machine. It’s an excellent do it all quad for the types of riding I do. It’s super fun for exploratory riding since it has so much torque and it has very comfortable ergonomics. I’d say it’s only drawback would be track riding since it’s rather top heavy and it can be kinda scary to jump at times. The torquey power plant always makes me smile though and they’re very reliable machines which is super nice. I always say the Raptor is a muscle car and the YFZ is a sports car. They both are fun but if there was only one in the garage I’d have to go with the Raptor which is why I got that machine first. The 400ex is an excellent machine in its class and I always have fun riding it around. It’s a bit too slow for me at times but for its size and purpose it’s hard to beat. Plus it has that legendary Honda reliability 😅👌
@@PeteHager Real nice!!! Thats a epic way to put it man 😂 Im happy with my Muscle car the Raptor 700r also have a sports car the 450trx.
