Great.. I don't have chalk.. or a chalk board. I don't have a friend. I don't have any bowls.. and again I don't have a friend.. wasn't able to try any of them. :(
this one work :P facebook.com/1517160868604660/photos/a.1517166945270719.1073741828.1517160868604660/1517399735247440/?type=3&pidid=54c9cea7-2fff-4924-b0c0-99de0653d73d 4 Touch Tricks That Feel Like Magic
The one with your fingers isn't anything to do with the thought of having them 'tied'. Your fingers will naturally tend to 'shut' when you put them in that position. It's just your muscles.
The finger trick is fake, ur fingers just get tired of being stiff and straight. It just slowly rests. Try it. Just hole out ur hand like in the vid and it automatically closes
Charlie Pug yes, but your missing the point. In time it will occur on it's own do to the fingers relaxing. They get tired and want to be closed but since your friend told you keep them open your brain fights it to keep them open. But when your friend does the invisible string it affects your sub-conscience making your brain actually think that they are influencing you and speeding up the process by giving up on trying to hold it open anymore.
I used to do something similar to the "tying an invisible string around the fingers" illusion when I was a kid. I think my grandpa taught me if you ask someone to hold two rocks together tightly, and while he or she is holding the two rocks together, take another rock and make a circle around the two rocks being held together many times over. Eventually, you'll stop moving the rock around the other two, and ask the other person to slowly try and pull the two rocks apart. If done correctly, they should feel a slight pull of attraction - almost "magnetic."
The thing with the fingers and the string around it is bullshit. Is just the muscles getting tired not because of the imagination. Just try it for yourself alone.
horrorvictim Mathea Rossi Your fingers are simply attempting to revert back to their natral resting position, this trick has absolutely nothing to do with your mind or outside stimulation. You stretch the tendons in your fingers by putting them in the position that the trick demands, and so they are pulled inwards when they attempt to slacken/release said tension.
"The hands don't know what temperature the water is..." That's your explanation for the reason behind the hot hand feeling cold and the cold hand feeling hot? I've never heard of that... The left hand is dipped into the hot water. The water is transferring its energy to your hand, increasing its' temperature.. The right hand, dipped into the cold water, gives the energy to the water and your hand starts losing heat fast. After keeping both in, once they reach thermal equilibrium, you take both hands out and quickly dip them both into the warm water. The goal for your hands and the water is to reach thermal equilibrium. Your hands and the water need to reach a common temperature. The hot hand feels cold because it quickly releases its energy to do so. The cold hand feels warm because it's absorbing lots of energy at once. This is the REAL reason behind this. (:
That's part of the reason but that's not the exact reason! The real reason is that our body dynamically adjusts it's senses according to the external stimuli. The left hand got used to the temperature of hot water...where as the right got used to the temperature of cold water. (by used to..I mean the senses think its normal to have that temperature) After the both hands are put in warm water..our senses react to the sudden change in temperature with respect to what they found normal. "Hot" & "Cold" doesn't actually exist. Only the temperatures exist. Hot & cold is just our sense' interpretation of those temperatures. Same can be tried with other senses too. for eg: an orange will taste sweet after having a lemon; where as the same orange will taste sour after having apple.
inevitabledeath Actually, Lesley W explained it entirely. I don't think you fully understood what he was saying because you basically said the exact same thing but just in a dumbed down way.
Dj992Music No he didn't. He talked about transference of energy which is true. That's the physics of it. But that's not all that is going on. There is biology involved too. Our body responds a certain way to external stimuli. And our body constantly adjusts our senses with respect to change in external stimuli. Anything we feel, see, hear ..etc is our body's interpretation of external physical quantity. When any of these physical quantity change our body alarms us of the same. It does that by stimulating out senses. I think you have trouble understanding that "hot" or "cold" is not real it's all in our brain. (The temperature are absolute, they are real) Think about it, both light and sound are waves (although light has particle properties too but humor me for a moment) Then, why don't we "see" sound or "hear" light? It's because our bodies are not tuned to do so.
Take your middle and ring finder from four non dominate hand and cross them. Just as if you were to cross your fingers with your middle and pointer, but do it with your middle and ring. Then put both tips of your fingers crossing eachother at the tip of your nose (make sure that they are BOTH touching. It should feel like you have two noses
The imaginary string is not a brain trick at all. I examined and studied this is school as a project. I searched a lot online and stuff, here's what I got: The reason why our fingers always 'hug' each other is because our fingers are usually curled up most of the time, every single day, in every single hour, every single minute, and every single second. (You get it already) Even when you think our fingers are straight, they are actually not. Put your finger "straight" and examine it. You can see a curve along on the knuckles, it's not straight at all. Our fingers were made to curl up. You can even notice this while doing regular activities thru out the day. I always see my fingers curl while reading an book, playing games, or even holding something. I also took another examine, I did the trick that was in this video but without someone tying it and without thinking of anything being tied. I put one of my favorite songs on, that didn't worked, I couldn't resist thinking about someone tying my fingers together. So my mother came in my room while I was doing this trick, she talked about some thing, and I was focused on what she said and not on my project, and guess what, my fingers had touched each other. It's basically just our fingers curling up, that's all. Note: This isn't really what I exactly put on my project, I just added a few touches. I also got an A, from this (real) scientist, he said this study was really acceptable and he agrees with my report.
Another trick is to have two people, sorry for all dem loners, I feel you. You close your eyes, put your arms at your sides, and relax. The person(whom you should trust) will do a series of weird things while you still keep your eyes closed. They will first clap in front of your face 10 times, snap at each ear alternating times(5 each ear), and finally move your arms together and cross them 10 times like each arm should be on top 5 times. The person should then tell you to count to ten in your head and you say when you're done. Do that counting down from 10, 8,6,4,2,1. Finally stand back and the person should tell you to say the phrase " deadman deadman take me to my grave " over and over. You should feel your hands rise like a zombie
Cross your middle and index finger, like you di when your hoping your team will win the game or whatever. Then, keeping your fingers crossed, rub your nose with both fingers at the same time. You feel like you have 2 noses.
0:56 no this isnt the case. your fingers move when you relax because your finger muscles get tired and want to go to a resting posistion, although this could also work
1:45 "guess one can't trust anything" The examples is a contrived situation, often we do know what temperature we are "comparing to". You get in from the cold and start thawing, you know the warmth is partly exaggerated to your senses because you were just out in the cold.
I've always loved the dead finger trick. But so many people are always like "no way" when I tell them to put their hand on mine cuz they fear I'm trying to do something that will hurt XD
Did anyone else notice the Ninja Turtle shirt at 2:02? Well, I guess I am a true Ninja Turtle fan to form, huh. What does anyone else think? Does anyone think that my ability to recognize anything Ninja Turtle within the first five seconds of seeing it, a problem? Please tell me what you think. By the way, this is just kind of a joke, but I still want your opinion. For laughs. Make it really funny and I will post it on my Google account. I will pick the best 7, so try really, really hard. And good luck to you all!
Miriam Lynn Hill I thought I was the only one who spotted the ninja turtles. I mean, how could I not? Ninja turtles are love....Ninja turtles are LIFE.
I know, right? It is my most fave show in the whole universe! I hope that's not bad grammar. But it just is! You know, my fave show in the whole universe!
There's a cool one which is 'Imaginary Bubble'. You get a friend to stand in front of you and stick their arms out ahead. You do the same around their waist. You touch each others hands palm-to-backofhand You push in, trying to touch your hands together Your friend does the opposite and tries to keep them apart After a minute they suddenly pull their hands away You should feel a weird bubble in thin air, but if you move suddenly you can 'pop' it.
In an absurdly hot summer with no air conditioning, I closed the windows to keep the cool in, and then put up some christmas lights and put on some classical music. The oppressive heat started to feel cozy instead. More of a psychological trick than a sensory one!
So a trick my mom used to have me try was to ball up your fist really really tight, then a second person squeezes your fist even tighten for about 10-20 seconds to make sure it was really squeezed together. Then you slowly release your fist (VERY SLOWLY). Immediately after your fist is completely open and your palm is exposed, the second person touches each of the tips of your fingers very quickly and then they make a gesture that suggests they are pulling a tissue out of a tissue box in your palm. If done correctly, your nerves are completely numb after opening your fist and the image of something being pulled out of your hands awakenes them, which feels like your are pulling a presence out of your hand. We called it the ghost hand trick and everyone should try it :)
When you kill normal monsters in an RPG, monsters who's HP drop fast feel like cheese and those who's HP drops slowly feels like studded leather or something hard.
It's just your fingers getting tired ... As Dingus Kahn said: The illusion where your friend is tying your fingers together is not really an illusion. If you do it without a friend it will happen naturally because that is the direction your fingers fold in and since sticking them out is using more energy and strength then having them balled in a fist or resting upon something else they will naturally move inward.
The nerves in our body actually don't have the ability to sense temperature, and the only reason we know that something is hot or cold is because our brain recognizes things like ice is cold and boiling water is hot, and in this case, we know which is hot and which is cold, so our brain sends those signals to our hands. When the temperature is suddenly changed, it confuses the nerves, and that's why in the video her hands felt the opposite temperature. (It's like those optical illusions that produce the after images after you stare at them.) and this is also why we can feel heat from ice and why hot water can feel cool at the first touch, because the brain hasn't sent the signal to the nerves yet.
The water trick is simple. Your hands are not confused they just notice the relative change in temperature. They went from two extremes to a normal temp. It is adaptive instinct like when your eyes adjust to the dark.
The string one has nothing to do with the "power of suggestion" but that it's to do with your fingers' muscles getting tired and resorting to a clenched, relaxed state. This is because the most natural / comfortable position for your hands is slightly clenched
Its actually not your sigh or anything that makes it happen, its just your muscles thinking on their own, there's probably a lot of science behind it but that's the simple way to put it.
Stand in a corner (back towards the wall) press your arms against the walls for a while(60 seconds or so) and then step away, if you did it right your arms will start lifting against your will And then there's a thing you need a friend for: Lay down on the ground with your eyes closed and have your friend hold your leg up as high as you can, then they have to scratch on the ground while telling you that they're digging a hole under your leg, after a while they need to lower your leg SLOWLY towards the floor. Once again, If done right it should feel as if your leg is going lower than your body/into the hole.
Put 5 fingers against the other 5 fingers and start putting them together (not so much that they all touch). Do that for about 5 seconds (correctly) and it starts to feel like you have somekind of thing (board maybe) between your fingers. I know, really well explained. :I
I was just about to say that! Make the inequality signs with both hands. Be sure the pads of your fingers are lying smooth on each other. Do it moderately slow, for a minute.
Or, put your hands into claw-like shapes, and act as if you are clapping. Just make sure your hands never touch, and an invisible marshmallow will form in between. Patience is key. ;3
1:16 that happens with Bass, i could listen to a song with no bass boost, then put it to 21 dB boost, it is weird, then i have to put it up to notice anything
1.You wore out the edge of the chalk, so it's smooth. 2. Your fingers are tired from the extension. 3. Simple heat conversion, just go play with entropy. 4. It's a nocebo.
Showering is how I learned the bit about temperature one, but I also found that I couldn't tell hot from cold once during a bit of foreplay. My partner had me tied down tightly but spread eagle. He blindfolded me and then put earbuds in my ears while blaring Turbonegro (you're on youtube; look em up). I couldn't tell which of the objects he used were hot or cold. I still don't know.
Oh yeah, I could totally tries these tests out. If I had a blackboard. And chalk. And three bowls. And a friend. And fucks to give. I have none of those.
1. The string thing doesn't have anything to do with suggestion, it's just that the muscles of the fingers quickly relax. 2. The numbness doesn't have anything to do with seeing and feeling, it's just the blood escaping your finger. That's why you feel numb. 3.
the magic string trick does not involve suggestion. It simply takes concentration to move the fingers apart, when you move focus away it move back together.
The illusion where your friend is tying your fingers together is not really an illusion. If you do it without a friend it will happen naturally because that is the direction your fingers fold in and since sticking them out is using more energy and strength then having them balled in a fist or resting upon something else they will naturally move inward.
On my birthday a random old guy ,in about his 80,s, came up to me in a restaurant and asked me if I've ever felt I dead mans finger.... Instantly I was weirded out but listened anyway. He then told me to put my hand against his and run my finger across my index... Just for a reminder I didn't know this guy at all. That my friends is how I hound out about the dead finger illusion😂💕🙌🏻💕
There's also one where if you press the tips of you fingers together and slide them in sync in an up and down motion for about 10-15 seconds it will feel as if there's a very thin smooth surface between them
Hot is a bit more extreme than warm. Hot is when something just comes out of the oven, or when it's summer and the sun is relentless, or when your hand is in pain under running water. Warm is more comfortable, like room temperature level, or maybe you just put on a sweater. It's really hard to explain, but I hope that's helpful.
1:00 That one has nothing to do with imagination. You can do exactly the same thing without imaginating anything. It's caused by the muscles subtracting.
For the imaginary string one, your fingers will naturally come together whether you have the suggestion or not. Your fingers have natural arches in them. When you fold your hands, you have to hyperextend your index fingers and fight the arches to keep them one inch apart. Your index fingers will naturally want move together because there are other muscles, tendons, and ligaments attached to them (and the metacarpal bone below it) that are currently flexing the other fingers. So naturally, the index finger will want to follow suit. The muscle that will hold the index finger in a hyperextended position is small, and it's all the way up on your forearm. So unless you're actively fighting to keep the index finger in this position, this muscle won't overpower all the other hand and forearm muscles, tendons, and ligaments telling the finger to flex.
the string demonstration is bullshit. When you claps your hands like that and extend your index fingers, the fingers are in a state of stress and naturally want to bend towards eachother with or without a string. go ahead. try it. unless you focus intensely on keeping your index fingers apart, that focus makes the string irreverent.
Great.. I don't have chalk.. or a chalk board. I don't have a friend. I don't have any bowls.. and again I don't have a friend.. wasn't able to try any of them. :(

+Seymour Funk True
+Seymour Funk They know that, the string is there to make the trick make a bit more sense
+Seymour Funk I just tried it and you're absolutely right!

Pray for us

I did it by myself and it worked
Yeah
Yep! I tried it with my family and my mom said it was our muscles relaxing! Duh!
Meh fingers r like magnets 0.0
1:03 just found out my fingers do that regardless of suggestion, should I be worried?
absolutely not, happened to me too , maybe we're not strong enough to hold them open...
horrorvictim Mathea Rossi Your fingers are simply attempting to revert back to their natral resting position, this trick has absolutely nothing to do with your mind or outside stimulation. Yes, I call shenanigans on the trick. It has nothing to do with the other person or the imaginary string.
nah. it's normal. You're just a horrorvictim. :D
I did the imaginary string without a friend and just thought about it, IT SOMEHOW WORKED!.... Damn
Omg me too
It is actually because your hands are tight, not because of the fake rope
Happened to me too!!! :D
So weird...
It still works without the imaginary rope
It works without a person for me
This is not what I expected when I heard touch tricks that feel like magic
i was thinking about something completely different
lol
My fingers touched just by watching the video for the imaginary string.
Haha, me too. I looked down at my fingers and was like, hey!!
ditto
don't need any stringing motion. just removing your attention from the fingers will make em stick
It think it happens without the suggestion... It's just your fingers/hands becoming quickly fatigued from hyper extenstion
Cool! Now where do I get friends? :D
away from the internet theres a magical place called "real life"
And Facebook
omg, i thought the same at a moment lol!
i rather find real friends :/
I'll be your friend!
i want cake now
Your picture matches perfectly! xD
Haha so true
No the cake is a lie!

I'm not lonely, I have God. I'm also still just a kid, so I still live with my family.
Miriam Lynn Hill Uncle Charles doesn't just show your mom around the Motel every week
You touch each others hands palm-to-backofhand
You push in, trying to touch your hands together
Your friend does the opposite and tries to keep them apart
After a minute they suddenly pull their hands away
You should feel a weird bubble in thin air, but if you move suddenly you can 'pop' it.
I tried doing that string test alone (meaning there's actually no string to imagine) and my fingers still moved together.
In an absurdly hot summer with no air conditioning, I closed the windows to keep the cool in, and then put up some christmas lights and put on some classical music. The oppressive heat started to feel cozy instead. More of a psychological trick than a sensory one!
Keith that you
+TheMyst YES OMG
THIS TRICK IS GREAT
Stick your touch out and pretend to shake salt on your touch with your hand, you should taste salt
Trololololololololololololololol why you have to troll me
I showed my mom and now I'm grounded... 😂😂😂
I actually tried it, it took me about 20 minutes to realize what you did there
+UA-cam Addict LOL I dont get it, Someone pls Explain?
It's actually
Werid I DONE it once it was so weird because I did it at scho and when she means touch or he she means tounge
Yeah just let me get my chalk and chalkboard laying around my house
I tried the second one without another person, but just listening to you speak was enough to do it.
Press you hand, arm hard on the door frame for 30 seconds and let go if you do it correctly your hand, arm should rise up by itself
Derek Jay Ja.
You said "in the RPG " it's meant to be "with an RPG "
I'm talking about how it feels when doing it, not actual technical stuff, you great gaming specialist, also you're reviving a year old discussion.
@1:00 it happens even when he place two palms together facing each other
The fingers and hand muscles get tired easily allowing them to touch
I did the string thing. Whoaaaaaa
It's just your fingers getting tired ... As Dingus Kahn said:
The illusion where your friend is tying your fingers together is not really an illusion. If you do it without a friend it will happen naturally because that is the direction your fingers fold in and since sticking them out is using more energy and strength then having them balled in a fist or resting upon something else they will naturally move inward.
Actually, you have the streaght to make your index finger to hold still. But...It would keep jiggling in place.
Youre just a dream killer, aren't you?
I was so distracted by the fact it was Keith's voice narrating this. I love him lol 😂
Too bad I have no friends to test this with.
(It's like those optical illusions that produce the after images after you stare at them.) and this is also why we can feel heat from ice and why hot water can feel cool at the first touch, because the brain hasn't sent the signal to the nerves yet.
can you suggest methods to do these experiments alone? because I don't have any friends...
I feel you...
Rachel Archibald (i wish that pun was intended)
The water trick is simple. Your hands are not confused they just notice the relative change in temperature. They went from two extremes to a normal temp. It is adaptive instinct like when your eyes adjust to the dark.
0:06 I think your iPad is broken.
The string one has nothing to do with the "power of suggestion" but that it's to do with your fingers' muscles getting tired and resorting to a clenched, relaxed state. This is because the most natural / comfortable position for your hands is slightly clenched
Me on finger string test: My fingers are not going to come together...Wait...No...NOOOOOOOOOO! *Touch*
I didn’t know Keith was a magician!😂
For the test I didn't even need a friend to circle my fingers, just thinking about the string made my fingers pull together.
Its actually not your sigh or anything that makes it happen, its just your muscles thinking on their own, there's probably a lot of science behind it but that's the simple way to put it.
Stand in a corner (back towards the wall) press your arms against the walls for a while(60 seconds or so) and then step away, if you did it right your arms will start lifting against your will
And then there's a thing you need a friend for:
Lay down on the ground with your eyes closed and have your friend hold your leg up as high as you can, then they have to scratch on the ground while telling you that they're digging a hole under your leg, after a while they need to lower your leg SLOWLY towards the floor.
Anatora Aurorua
Exactly!
Oh creepy
Or, put your hands into claw-like shapes, and act as if you are clapping. Just make sure your hands never touch, and an invisible marshmallow will form in between. Patience is key. ;3
* Paigeycita *
Haha lol. Felt like an idiot doing it tho xD
1:16 that happens with Bass, i could listen to a song with no bass boost, then put it to 21 dB boost, it is weird, then i have to put it up to notice anything
The one with the imaginarary string is a bit false... the fingers will move together anyway because of their position
Keith's voice soothes me
i did the string test thing and even without having someone wrap 'string' around my finger they closed. not much of a trick i guess
You probably have supercancer.
1.You wore out the edge of the chalk, so it's smooth.
2. Your fingers are tired from the extension.
3. Simple heat conversion, just go play with entropy.
4. It's a nocebo.
Didn't have/need a friend for the imaginary string trick. Did it myself tbh
Well so much for doing any of these without getting up or having friends. On to the next video.
Error 404 : Friend not found..
When the fan trick came up it made me alert to the sound of my fan in the background.
Just did the tying fingers trick. It ended up with me screaming "THATS CREEPY THATS CREEPY!!!"
xD
I know how and why it does that though so the screams weren't completely genuine :3
Keith be narrating
That pun at the end tho
Showering is how I learned the bit about temperature one, but I also found that I couldn't tell hot from cold once during a bit of foreplay. My partner had me tied down tightly but spread eagle. He blindfolded me and then put earbuds in my ears while blaring Turbonegro (you're on youtube; look em up). I couldn't tell which of the objects he used were hot or cold. I still don't know.
when I touch myself it feels like magic
This touched me.
Oh yeah, I could totally tries these tests out.
If I had a blackboard.
And chalk.
And three bowls.
And a friend.
And fucks to give.
I have none of those.
Video: "Can you HANDle it?"
Me: "I don't know. Maybe if you lent me a HAND."
I'm calling BS on the first one, it's only smoother because you wore out the edge of the chalk, making it flat.
You can't call "bullshit" on something if you haven't tried it.
My dad showed me the dead finger trick when is was really little. I was so amazed!
The tying one is fake. Its because your fingers are mostly bent. So when you keep it straight and relax, its trying to bend
Shally Lan Thats the trick
1. The string thing doesn't have anything to do with suggestion, it's just that the muscles of the fingers quickly relax.
2. The numbness doesn't have anything to do with seeing and feeling, it's just the blood escaping your finger. That's why you feel numb.
3.
I bet at least half of the people who came here were expecting the video to be about masturbation lol
I got terrific news for you. Your mama was right when she said you're exceptional.
thriler30 Well... thank you?
Please...don't thank me, instead give yourself a pat on the back.
thriler30 Alright then.
😂😂😂
1:03 if u do the same thing with out a person saying there's a string it still works without them
the finger one isnt any of our senses, its actually our bones and muscles trying not to hold the fingers straight. sorry
the magic string trick does not involve suggestion. It simply takes concentration to move the fingers apart, when you move focus away it move back together.
to try most of these you need friends. I don't have any friends
on point
+Sky Wolf get off the internet. it helps.
The illusion where your friend is tying your fingers together is not really an illusion. What if u don't have friends?
On my birthday a random old guy ,in about his 80,s, came up to me in a restaurant and asked me if I've ever felt I dead mans finger.... Instantly I was weirded out but listened anyway. He then told me to put my hand against his and run my finger across my index... Just for a reminder I didn't know this guy at all. That my friends is how I hound out about the dead finger illusion😂💕🙌🏻💕
With the imaginary string trick, your fingers move together whether or not someone is circling your fingers with theirs. Try it 😊
There's also one where if you press the tips of you fingers together and slide them in sync in an up and down motion for about 10-15 seconds it will feel as if there's a very thin smooth surface between them

Is dat beautiful Keith who is narrating?
Hot and Warm is not the same? O:
Hot is a bit more extreme than warm. Hot is when something just comes out of the oven, or when it's summer and the sun is relentless, or when your hand is in pain under running water. Warm is more comfortable, like room temperature level, or maybe you just put on a sweater.
It's really hard to explain, but I hope that's helpful.
***** Hmm,I get the difference alot better now, thank you!
It's hard for people who speak 5 Languages to know every language properly x)
You don't have to explain! I can barely even deal with two foreign languages
***** What do you mean with sign language? Are that non official languages based on official ones used in different parts of the countries?
Sandeep Singh
sign language is a language using gestures with your hands/fingers
1:00 That one has nothing to do with imagination. You can do exactly the same thing without imaginating anything. It's caused by the muscles subtracting.
195th view, BOOM!
Why?
unecomedy13 Why do you think ...
It's under the number it freezes at, 301.
I wish I knew you needed friends for these.
