Dude, I've watched a LOT of video's and read LOTS of books on how to grip the club properly. Still, I never got it right. This video is the BEST! I wish I had come across this video 2 years ago. Thank you very much for sharing this.

No other instruction or video has helped me more than this. It changed the way I hit the ball and gave me the control over all my clubs that I was missing. I feel like I owe you money. Its ridiculous. Im launching the ball with the power I new I had. Paul Wilson you're the best. I wish I could shake your hand sir.

Thank you so much for i have many videos and spent hundreds of dollars on tapes,
clubs, etc. trying to buy a better game when all i needed was to slow down and get the correct grip! Who knew? A thousand thanks.

I agree, this is THE BEST description of right hand placement I've ever found. Tried it today at the range and WHAT A DIFFERENCE. This cured my inside take-away, allowed me to make a true one-piece back swing....hard to believe this one small change effects so many other parts of the golf swing. This video along with your hip turning video are must see for all golfers. Will be tuning in for more of your videos....

In all my years of golfing, this is the first video that has finally shown me how to get the right position of my hands on the club. It was amazing. the first time I did it, I knew I'd finally got it right. I have to tell you this one video has helped me more than everything else I have ever attempted.
    Thanks very much.

My only regret is not watching this video sooner. I am a brand new golfer and have been obsessively working on my game the last 3 mths trying to learn on my own and through friends. After taking one lesson with an instructor who changed my flawed grip and I noticed that every 'strange' feeling with my new correct grip is everything you mentioned in this video I should feel but more importantly, a lot of slices and chunking are attributed to my wrong grip. keep up the awesome videos! Thanks!!

The Best Explanation and VDO of the Correct (neutral) Golf Grip I have ever seen since Toskey on VHSin the 1990's...... Way to go Paul.
My Grip is the basis of witch I judge all my ball flight and body motion. Thus, I judge every golf swing against my grip... stance, alignment, ball flight and distance.

I actually didn't watch this video until after I went to the range one day and readjusted my grip. I was hitting the ball great but wasn't sure of the grip in the technical standpoint as I felt weak on the right hand, so I did some research and found this video and confirmed the adjustment I made on my grip. I must say this is very very accurate and let out the detail that others don't usually focus on when instructing. Great video.

At the 6 minute mark of this video you revolutionized the way I think about my grip. I have really been struggling with the feel of my right hand at the top of my swing, and this is exactly why. I am resting my club on my thumb. I can't wait to try this out and report back on results.

A week ago I started studying and practicing all your swing training videos (grip, take back, starting down, follow through, etc.). Typically late in the season(August/September) I am shooting low 90s. This past Saturday I shot an 86. My round felt so effortless. It was definitely the most enjoyable round I have ever played. I look forward to shooting in the low 80s by the end of this year.
    Thanks,
    Will

Paul, once again you are spot on with advice that has improved my game. I started to experience just what you said, I started to hit a hook and the sporadic push fade when I needed a draw that I could not get rid of. This tip did it, the hook is gone and the draw is back. this video cleared up a lot of mystery in the proper grip for me. Thank you so much.

What a great teacher, Paul explains things in a very understandable way. I particularly like his reasoning as being an engineer I have to know why certain things are why they are.. i'm an ex 7 h'cap golfer who has spent hours trying to find a way back. This grip is magic so many teachers are preaching lead hand in the fingers. only wish i can find $2000 odd to attend a 3 day school out there-maybe one day
    many thks paul simona0

Excellent information regarding the proper right hand position. When I teach the grip to my students, I ensure their grips are the correct size for their hands.

Watched this video and implemented it on the course today. It was incredible. I've never had a round of golf like that in my life, splitting fairways and hitting 20 yds further than usual. I didn't slice a single drive, which for me is insane. Greatest golf tip ever, thanks so much Paul.

Used your video to remind myself of the correct grip as I have been struggling with my game for months. Played yesterday with immediate results as my swing is so much more fluid now. Figure I needed to start with getting back to the basics and your video has been great to assist this process. Looking forward to playing again - rather than dreading the next game!! Also looked at your swing speed video which also was a great help.
    Many Thanks

No more fat shots!! This grip suits me because my hand aren't that big but I do like the overlapping grip. This was 75% of the set-up I needed to work on. Plus I don't cup my wrist during backswing anymore. Thanks!!

Paul, you just saved my game! I was getting so frustrated to the point where I was disliking playing golf. My right hand was turned over too far causing me to hook and duck hook my drives. My swing speed is around 110 so this spin was causing me significant problems. I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong for the longest time. After watching this video, I simply centered the V of my right hand to my body and loosened up my right hand as well and it has allowed me to hit much straighter drives. I really appreciate the videos you have posted. Cheers.

Amazing guide, Just started playing and had a problem with putting it from left to right now ive started using the proper grip its going well, feels really strange and no comfy but once you get used to it your golden. The hardest part for me is i have the interlocked grip and putting it to far in so couldnt get right hand round. I just loosen it up and let it go when the grip takes it! thanks for help!!

To begin, thank you so much for all of your help. You have no idea how much you have helped my game. The one thing that I am missing on this video, is where you like the pinky to actually lay. You did mention what not to do but didn't show exactly where the right pinky is located with this grip. Does it just lay over the top of the left index? Thanks again!

First off thank you for the tips. I'm a starter at the game of golf. Will this grip be the same for all clubs or only for Irons?

  • @jackcoop2577
    @jackcoop2577 11 років тому

Thanks for the instruction - using it I've gone from an over gripper to properly gripping the club. One problem I am having since I switched. My irons (particularly 4-7) are weakly fading. Not exactly a slice, but softly fading right. Is there a likely culprit for this? Thanks in advance!

  • @Aplupiani

thanks for the video. I am left handed, grew up playing right handed without much success. Switched to lefty a few years ago because I turn my lower body better and swing more freely as a result. I tended to hook the ball and swing too hard playing righty because of a strong left arm swing. Question: From this video, you seem to be advocating a stronger "weak hand" swing by weakening the "strong hand" if that makes any sense. Your machine swings one handed, using the left "weaker" arm (for righties.) So are you saying that the right hand for right handed swingers should basically be in a weaker position in order to, "be along for the ride?" and that the left hand/arm should dominate through the swing? Or is this a leveling out situation so both hands work in tandem?

I have been watching grip videos and have been fiddling with left and right hand grips changes for months. All a failure.
No longer ! Your detailed explanation is spot on and I am changing no more.
