- Hello everyone, this is Run Ze wishing everyone a happy holiday. I had a blast driving this 2019 Honda Accord Sport but I would have definitely enjoyed the 2.0L turbo more! I know we can all agree we love the fact that Honda sensing is standard across all of their models except for the Si and Type R. The lane changing camera has got to be my favorite feature on a Honda. With barely any changes for 2019, I wouldn’t mind getting into the 2018 because I know I’ll get better pricing. The 2018 Honda Accord was awarded the car of the year in 2018 by AJAC, do you guys think it should be the car of the year again in 2019? Let’s start a conversation

Awesome review my friend has an accord 10-speed automatic with a k pro tuner it is a rocket ship it's amazing what the k pro tuner software can do to that car factory 0 to 60 time is 5.5 + 5.6. On a wall he is right beside my STI I could not believe it's how much torque that motor has

Just bought my third Honda Accord Sport yesterday and already loving it. Had the 2014, 2016 and now the 2019. Great cars and I am very surprised at how much more frills the 2019s have in comparison to the previous two.
Last night I was playing a game with this video. I had to take a shot of Vodka every time you said “Honda Accord”. I couldn’t catch up and I blacked out a few minutes into the video lol.

2018 Honda Accord Sport owner here in the US. Noticed some slight differences though I am sure its just due to being different markets.
1. Sunroof. Mine doesnt have it. To me not a big deal as its hot AF the majority of the year here in Texas
2. On the left side where your knee would be you show where the safety stuff is. Mine only has 2 buttons. Though traction control I know can be turned off and on via settings menu on the display.
3. Mine has Goodyear tires.
4. I am averaging 30.5 mpg city driving.
Lastly I love my Accord Sport. Super comfortable, safe,very fuel efficient as well.

My 2018 doesn’t come standard with heated seats here in the us
As far as I know, in the US the Sport 2.0t does have a sunroof, but not the 1.5t. I think the 2.0t Sport is based on the EX-L feature set.
MegaTechpc the 2.0 Sport gets the sunroof, heated seats and auto lock features. The 1.5 Sport does not have these at least on the 19’s.
Got the 2019 2.0T sport with 252 HP and never look back 😁

Friend got one ..so nice to drive would suggest a sway bar and to swap out the tires for much better stickier summer tires to further improve performance. Other than that it's a great 4cyl turbo
Remote start Key fobs are available for all 2018 Honda accords and trims 1.5 and 2.0. Just go to your Honda parts store and pick up a remote start key fob. part number 72147-TVA-A21. Prices may vary. I Paid $91.15 at Parts Honda of Chula Vista, CA. Afterward take new fob to service department for reprogramming service. No extra parts are required. Takes about 25 minutes. I was charged $ 130.00 at the service department of Pacific Honda, CA. No more getting into a hot or cold car.
And it worked just like that? They didn’t have to add anything else to the engine?
And was the total you paid for parts and service 91.00 + 130 = $221 ?

@@Zach_eats I paid total of $160 and I bought key fob from the actual dealership. It was slightly used. But works excellent. Couldn't tell it was used.
This is not for all 10th gen Accords. This will not work on the 6mt models.

Great review. This is the 1.5 sport right? Did they add the trunk button on the rear for the new year? Or does only Canadian models include it? I can only open it from the key fob or inside the car.
Thanks for watching Niz! From what I remember correctly, yes you can open the trunk, from the trunk. I'm not sure about US models but I know this is a huge hassle to not have it.

Trunk button on the rear of what? You have it on the fob, you also have it on drivers side door, lastly you can use key in fob, pop the lid off the little spot behind drivers side rear passenger, stick key in and it will pop open. This is for if battery ever dies you still have access to get into the trunk.
Kacey Dillin They have a button on the trunk itself where the license is. It can be very convenient for lots of people.

Love your video reviews. However in this video....one mistake is that the seats are vinyl (as are almost all of the soft touch materials) and cloth, not "leather" and cloth.
It would be nice if you had the price in the description.
I still wouldn't trade my 2016 Honda Accord Sport crystal black pearl for this. The 2016 Accord was the last model in my opinion the best one made besides the 94-97 year both some of the best body lines.
Yeah I have the 2017 Sport. My lease ends in May 2020 but I definitely don’t want to get rid of it. It’s my favorite design.

Why does no one review the stereo sound? Why do expensive cars have such crappy stereos. My 1995 came with an awesome Bose system. Have never hears better since.

I just bought a blue 19 accord sport. I looked at the touring, the extra features are nice but I do not think its worth all the extra money for a few fancier features. Its the same car. If you don't mind spending that extra money then go for it.

You keep comparing this to a Civic and that's wrong as the civic is in a seperate class and therefore not comparable to this.
You ought to compare this to similarly sized/priced sedans.
I think it would be great if Honda brings back the V6 to the Accord as an option. Moreover, it's still in use in the Pilot, Odyssey and the new passport. I also would like an option to choose between the shifter you have in your tester and the Button ones. I personally prefer the look and feel of this gear shifter to the Button ones and would not like to be mandated to have the Button shifter on the 2.0T versions of the Accord.
My thoughts though
I thought the same thing but the push button shifter is way better. It has brake hold and can automatically put it on brake mode when you put the car in park.

Yes you DO need a car if don't live in Downtown Toronto. However, if you are situated near a go-station or public transit, you don't really need a car.

With how much I drive and the price of gas being at $1.30 on the cheap end, upwards of $1.70+ in the summer, that fuel price would be like $5000 a year...

Missing from this review is the handling:
For a sedan, the Sport model, with its 19" wheels, low profile tires, and beefy suspension, it will take turns with ease (not as good as a mid-engine Corvette -- but still really good). Low profile tires have less sidewall, keeping the tires from rolling over on the sidewalls during a heavy turn (keeping the flat part of the tires gripping the ground).
The Accord Sport will take turns, at speed, and stay planted, and will do so better than most people think. It will take turns faster than most people would ever try, and will do so without missing a beat. I am not suggesting that anyone drive like a nut. Even a million dollar Ferrari will lose control.
In my opinion, the lateral handling of the Sport model is its main selling point (and often not spotlighted in reviews). If this is of little interest to you, there are four other Accord styles from which to choose (and 2 of the other 4 offer the more powerful 2.0 liter engine).
If you never plan on pushing the car hard around a turn, then you can save a load of $$ and get the LX model.
The main advantages of the Sport model are the superior lateral handling, and the sporty wheels. So if you like the way the LX model looks, and you do not need that extra performance hugging a turn, then aside from a few other features found in the Sport model, the LX model is probably a better deal.
Also note that the Sport model's brakes are very, very good. I have not driven the other models (and they probably have very good brakes). But I suspect that the Sport and the Touring styles (both have 19" wheels) have the best brakes. Just as the Sport model takes turns with control and ease, it also brakes with control and ease.

Elite Exposure OKAY! The 1.5T had issues in the CRVs here in Canada due to cold weather but that was a big issue for the 2018 models. This issue has now be resolved for cars here in Canada! 👍🏼

@MusicFerLife12 That's what I have been told by the management team at Honda. The issue also only occurred under extreme cold weather conditions. I guess maybe for all the Canadian models, this issue has been resolved. Again, from what I have been told.
Honda is doing recalls of the oil dilution problem for civics and crvs, but not a accord.
However if you’re looking to buy a new one now, you don’t need to worry about it anyway. They’re now fixed from factory.

Accord needs its own engine and platform, currently the civic has the best 1.5 turbo SI, and 2.0 liter turbo Type R,
And the Civics top models are faster and handle better.
So if you move up from a civic to accord, you get a slower car on the same platform, just bigger and more comfortable.
Which is good enough for some, but not as different as before when platforms and engines were clearly different.
I think it will take a few years before car buyers embrace turbo engines and cvt's in Honda's

You have no idea what you are talking about. Accords are upgrades from Civics. The Touring Accords have suspensions that will stiffen up in sport mode. Sport Accords are also sport tuned suspensions. The 2.0 T Accord will smoke all Civics but the type R. A fast Ktune will change that and make it just as fast if not faster than a stock Civic Type R. It’ll easily make it 0-60 in the 4.9 second range. It’s stock 0-60 at 5.4 seconds which is perfectly respectable and quick. I got my 2018 EXL for 27k plus tax and license. Go see if you can get a new Civic Type R for anything near that price. The type R is over priced. I’d rather get a nice entry Lexus for what Honda is asking. You won’t get leather, sunroof, Honda sensing, and you can’t seat 5 people in a type R like an Accord. Not to mention way more room for adults. The interior of the Civic Type R is cheap and plastic looking.

I test drove it 2 weeks ago, turbo lag, not bad but it's there. Noisy interior. Stupid push button for P/R/N/D. Ugly stuck on iPad as the center console that sticks out like a wart.

chigasaki06 The sport model doesn’t have a CVT unless you get the 4 cylinder CVT engine. Both 1.5 and 2.0 manual or 2.0 automatic done have a CVT. I think

Just not feeling the excitement for this car. Not very sporty or luxurious. Pretty basic.
Not luxurious? Okay, I can see the Mazda 6 just beating it out in this category but it's still more luxurious than most others in this segment. Not sporty? No way. It's the sportiest in it's class by far. I think the fusion sport (which isn't even made anymore) is the only car in it's class to beat the 0-60 but doesn't even touch it on the skidpad. The Accord puts the Altima, legacy, Camry, optima, sonata and Mazda 6 to shame when it comes to being sporty.

Jim S Not here in California. I've seen much of these new Accords everywhere. Many Accord buyers want the smaller 1.5t or 2.0t over the old V6 for more horsepower and fuel mileage advantages. And not to mention the creature comforts this model provides for extra long commute times. Well done Honda! And well done on this review too!
