just to let you know, the bezel insert on the one in this video is not originally for this model. the first gen planet ocean had an aluminum bezel. this one has been replaced with the glossy ceramic bezel from the liquid metal limited edition planet ocean 1949.
@MountainStandardTime so the older PO is not actually better. Get one with the 8500, ceramic bezel, see thru case back, bracelet screws and you won't look back!
@@scottmorrison147 the problem with the 8500 is it’s too thick. the slimmer profile of the older PO plus the all white lettering on the dial just makes it look more classy. also the 8500 has a matte ceramic bezel insert. this glossy ceeamic liquid metal bezel insert is from the limited edition PO 1949.
@@scottmorrison147 Technical specifications are one part of what makes a good watch. The other part is personal taste and wearability. A display caseback won't make it easier to create a slimmer dive watch with 600m WR. So as much as I like the PO models with ceramic bezel I appreciate the wearability and versatility of the first gen Planet Oceans, especially the black 42mm. It has also a level of understatement the newer models do not have.
I would argue that the first generation is better, probably not, but it is definitely the best looking Planet Ocean of all generations, in my opinion at least....Omega nailed it with this one, just gorgeous, a modern watch with so much vintage vibes
just picked up a first generation PO with an aluminum orange bezel and orange 6, 9, 12 numerals. just love it. have to agree with you about the smaller HEV on this one vs. the newer seamasters
@@MountainStandardTime good luck, got mine on chrono 24. it was my first time using that platform and i was a little skeptical, but it was an easy process. the watches are listed kinda high, but i suggested a more favourable price and they accepted.
Crappy bracelets, dodgy movements, non-ceramic bezel inserts. Apart for the watch is a bit thinner, I struggle to see how the 2500 is better than the later models.
The bezel is not original to the watch. The owner had Omega replace the old bezel with a limited edition model’s Liquid Metal bezel. If that’s what you’re referring too
Bezel insert is Goofy, and the numerals on the date wheel mean its a 2500d movement which makes it between 2010 and 2013. The earlier 2500c versions had the correct colour date wheel with the mire traditional date number font. The original PO is a great watch though, real style never goes out of fashion 👍

Yep! Good eyes! The previous owner had that done at an AD. Thanks for watching and commenting!

@@minhazahmed9753 not really. Wears great on my 7" wrist on bracelet and on Bond NATO, just wow!

I got the 2020 43.5mm Planet Ocean with calibre 8900 and stainless steel bracelet very solid and beautiful watch

It is a cool watch for sure.
@@MountainStandardTime It is better. Lighter, thinner, better looking, less tacky
The best planet ocean !!! Great review
I'm not sure where the PO in the video is, but I want to buy it. With that LMLE bezel on it. Perfect customization. Sell it to me.
The best for sure, the 45.5 PO first Gen
Beautiful watch. I bought three time's of 2201.50. It is masterpiece. Hope to not sell again.

I’m in the hunt for one today on eBay. Wish me luck! 🍀

The planet ocean is a stunning watch
I think the new Rolex fits "I've got the puck" better than any Omega
🤣
Best reference imo... really the only Omega I would buy. In fact I’m going to do so now
I’m jealous. Great watch! I will get one in the future.

Lovely watch. Mate that music in the background - so distracting
Thanks. Do you prefer no music. Or just lower the volume of it? Always willing to get feedback and get better.
Ugh, it is distracting. No more of that in future vids. Thanks for the comment.
This one would have been better, at least in my opinion, with the original black aluminum bezel. This ceramic bezel always looks a bit greyish.
I think so, too. And a PO needs a metal bracelet.
nice vid, nice piece and looks great on rubber.....NB: you need a 46
How did you clean it to make it shine like that?

it is a fake. sorry!!
Thanks for commenting! It helps my channel!
On rubber.. No... Looks like a Rolex ... No..
Wowww. That’s nice.
Amy chance your buddy is interested in selling it? I’d be interested
Thanks! Yeah that’s his daily wearer. He’s not interested in selling it
