Behind Closed Doors is another beautiful song by Charlie Rich.
"Keep On Rolling With The Flow" and "A Very Special Love Song" as well.
Yes!
That song is soooo good!!!!
Another great song is Rolling with the flow Charlie Rich
Olivia Newton-John was his opening act when I saw him in Vegas. They called him The Silver Fox. ❤❤❤❤❤
Love this song. It always reminds me of my cousin, it was her favorite song. She was 11 yrs older than me. She was unfortunately killed in a car crash in June of 2000, 19 days before her 47th birthday. 😢
This was a huge hit that crossed over the charts.
My thoughts exactly. Very popular with country and pop fans alike. EVERYONE liked it.
"Behind Closed Doors" is one of the sexiest songs ever. "Lonely Weekends" (1960), is one of Rich's earlier songs. Very Elvis-like.
My mom and dad would dance so tight...great memory 👍
On October 13, 1975, the man voted Entertainer of the Year by the Country Music Association of America one year earlier stood onstage at the CMA awards show to announce that year's winner of the Association's biggest award. But a funny thing happened when he opened the envelope and saw what was written inside. Instead of merely reading the name "John Denver" and stepping back from the podium, Charlie Rich reached into his pocket for a cigarette lighter and set the envelope on fire, right there onstage. Though the display shocked the live audience in attendance, John Denver himself was present only via satellite linkup, and he offered a gracious acceptance speech with no idea what had occurred.
Charlie Rich favs of mine :
Rollin with the flow
Don't put no headstone on my grave
Life has its little ups and downs
There won't be anymore
Big boss man
It's all over now
Very special love song
Lonely weekends
She called me baby
I take it on home
Mohair Sam [a favorite song of Elvis. Elvis was playing it over and over when the Beatles visited him in 1965]
They called him 'The Silver Fox,' and he is a country music immortal.
I love singing this in karaoke. If country music was still like this, I'd be a fan.
Love this song as well, Charlie had a way for a song beautiful lyrics
I love this song
I recall this song back in it's initial release days.
So popular. Beautiful melody with lyrics sung by beautiful vocals. It is way too short. He sang this on every TV variety show at the time.
Great song from a great Grammy winning album from 1973.
This was a big hit with the women in my family! Roberta Flack's "Killing Me Softly" was popular at the same time.
Beautifully played. Immaculate. Countrypolitan.
Charlie Rich
Behind Closed Doors
Great song you two. Charlie Rich was great and you’ll enjoy his other songs. As far as drinking? I’m not much for alcohol but I do have my Irish cream and coffee each morning.
Merry Christmas
Try Rollin' with the Flow and Behind Closed Doors... Deep rabbit hole
Great recording. Great song-writing on the verses.
Love the Silver Fox Charlie.💖 Charlie had the the same producer as Chicago back in the 70s, he was in their tv special "Back at the Ranch". He was kinda in the country with a little rock n roll. It was back when the lamb chop sideburns (like Elvis) were big.
Great, great song by a great singer. Behind Closed Doors is a must, it was banned by some Louisiana radio stations, my cousin told me.
The "Silver Fox". This song was number one on the US Bilboard on this day, December 15, 1973.
When Charlie first got radio airplay some people thought it was Elvis. It was rumored he was just using a different name so he could record on a different record label.
He's got some great music. Mohair Sam is a good one. His cover of Good Time Charlie's Got the Blues is amazing.
He was a great jazz/blues piano player. Too much soul for Nashville at the time. They wouldn't let him play the piano on some of his recordings.
Y'all have a Merry Christmas
🎄⛄🎄⛄
I love Charlie's singing and his awesome piano playing.
He will always be one of the greats to me
Many people don't know but Charlie was actually signed to the Sun label (Elvis' first label) back in the 50s and started out doing rockabilly music in the style of Elvis (as many artists were doing at the time, ie: Conway Twitty "Only Make Believe" etc). As a kid, being a huge Elvis fan, especially of his rockabilly stuff from the Sun years, I had also bought a vinyl record album I ran across in a store of Charlie Rich's rockabilly songs from his Sun years. Not thinking it was anything to hold on to, I pawned it off years later and now wish I hadn't because that album would probably be very hard to find now. Especially in the near mint condition it was when I sold it.
Here in Sydney, Australia we have a local Sydney radio station 2UE which plays this song and many others from the 60’s, 70’s and the 80’s all day and night long. I really like this song and hear it all the time. Have a very merry Christmas guys 🌲 🎅 🎁
A lot of great singers come out of the state of Arkansas including this gentleman.
❤️❤️❤️❤️Beautiful!!
You must hear some of the songs he wrote: Lonely Weekends, Who Will the Next Fool Be, Midnite Blues, Feel Like Going Home (the demo version), then one his wife wrote: Life's Little Ups and Downs, and a classic he sung the heck out of Since I Fell for You, oh and a blues he wrote Don't Put No Headstone on My Grave.
Toddy...you are sittin next to one! Lucky man brother!
Charlie Rich has one of the sexist voices. I remember when his song would come on the radio, my Aunt would swoon and fall over professing her love for Charlie Rich and any other woman around would join right in professing their undying love for this man too 😊😂and I have to admit it he had an incredible voice. Here's a live performance "Charlie Rich - Behind Close Doors" he could play a mean piano also. I loved your reaction, Chod & Dee thanks so much for sharing
One of my parents favourite songs originally called Hey Mister released in 1968 by Norro Wilson
Another of Elvis competitor same time frame, Conway Twitty country singer is early years he reminded me cuz he had the sideburns everybody was going for the sideburns. Check them out they're pretty good
Ah, the Silver Fox!! RIP
A favorite 😍
My favorite is rolling with the flow and behind closed doors
My dad loved this guy, he had two 8 track tapes, the good old days
Keep on Rollin with the flow is another great one bar he home
My Elusive Dreams is another great one from Charlie... he could really tell a story back in the 70s...
Charlie Rich was great. There's a video of him on stage setting John Denver's envelope on fire when he won a CMA award because Charlie didn't believe John Denver was a country musician. haha he kept it real
Charlie was known as "The Silver Fox" at the time.
You must listen to Behind Closed Doors. That’s old school sexy. Nice to see some country on the channel. 👏
The Silver Fox strikes again! I love this song.
That's the "Silver Fox"🦊
This is a great example of old country which is so much better than the newer stuff.
Songs from my childhood.
Try his song "You Can Have Her (I Don't Want Her)." If you didn't know it was him, you would think it was Elvis.
Behind Closed Doors and Rollin’ with the Flow next!!!!!!
I don’t mean any disrespect here, but the reaction on the right side of my screen was beautiful, the visual emotion following the song was right on, plus an extremely beautiful woman dining the song.
Yes, this is a beautiful song. Did you ever listen to Prince, and, "The Most Beautiful Girl In The world"? imo it is also a beautiful song.
Charlie Rich Rowlin with the flow
It's ok you guys, you can admit that you liked a "Country Western" artist's song from the early 70s. I'm a 66-year-old Rock/Blues fan, but good music is good no matter what genre it is. This is one of those songs you'll be singing to yourself for the next few hours, at least.
Thanks
Reminds me of a girl from my youth.
Wilburn u gotta check out behind closed doors its another great song by Mr rich. His nickname is the silver fox
charlie is one of my alltime favourite you say he sounds like elvis play than my personal friend iack jersey who died in 1999 this dutch singer who wrote more than 100 songs some with the jordanairs they sing with elvis please do answer me jack jersey make a subscriber happy greatings from the netherlands sorry for my english
Rollin with the Flow was a hit.
The Gray Fox.
That song was a cross-over hit. So was Behind Closed Doors from the same album, but he was most known as a country music artist.

Elvis sound harks back to when he and Elvis and Sun Records male singers did a lot of the male singers were competing, even Conway Twitty 's early days. did "Mohair Sam," and "Oh, those lLonely Weekends." Rita Coolidge did a great cover of his gospel blues ish "Lord I Feel like Going Home.
Don't forget about Tom T Hall.
He is someone that many of these reaction channels should listen to. Tom T. was a great country artist.
I really think this would be an awesome song for Home Free to cover.
I'm sure this song made him a daddy!
Great song!
Now do "Rolling With The Flow" by him. Charlie Rich was brilliant.
The Silver Fox.
You should try Charlie Pride songs ( Crystal Chandeliers / Kiss an Angel Good Morning )
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Please do Behind Closed Doors by him.
Behind Closed Doors is sexy ln a wonderful tasteful way!🥰✌️
Awesome song ! Can you do Conway Twitty's " Don't Cry Joni " you'll love it !
When men were REAL men! Tough and tender! The way we should be!!
THE SILVER FOX
☮️❤️🔥🔥🔥🎶🎵🎶...😎
Sorry to be mean, but it's to make a point. Charlie definitely had a face for radio... older, gray hair. If he was from today's era, we probably would never hear songs like this because he doesn't fit the mold of a "marketable artist." I wonder how many talented people out there won't have their songs heard on a global scale for this reason.
Charlie was cousin to Jerry lee Lewis
Classic country! From back when I liked country music. (HATE modern country with a passion)
A little George Jones and Tammy Wynette!
Quit with the attitude...not very nice
Country music died in the early 90s, what we hear now it's not country.
