If you're shooting general video do NOT use VLOG mode. That is usually only for faces and products. This mode tries to focus on the nearest object, like when someone is showing a product. For quick video press the red button on top. Or move switch to MOVIE mode.
I've had that same lens before selling and upgrading to a xf 18-55mm, and yeah...the 15-45 is literally the cheapest lens for a reason. I would suggest selling it to buy a 18-55mm or even better a 16-55mm to raise your content output to a whole new level. Great video btw💯!
I did watch another video about this camera and they did say that disabling eye auto focus for shooting in video can solve the auto focus problem so it could be worth trying that change of setting out and it would be worth checking if there is a firmware update on the Fuji website and updating the camera firmware if necessary. Hope this is of help to you.
After waiting months for the x100vi, I canceled that order and am buying the x-s20. I hope I like it as much as you do. BTW, I enjoy your style of storytelling.
good review , i got me a xt30 back in august only complain is the shaky ness bcus it has no ibis besides that i love it. prolly your camera lost focus becus of the shutter speed or maybe lowlight or maybe the focus options at least thats what popped up on google
thank you. When I recorded those videos, I simply used auto mode. (basically I'm not sure which part of the camera setting you're asking about. can you provide me more details?)😶
in reality it loses focus because there is not enough contrast in the scene, probably the focus jumped to the wall which is completely white when it lost the eye and her face
Definitely true, I make mistakes when speaking Mandarin and Cantonese. Through your comment, I could feel how kind you are. All the best to you.@@robmcd
As I was always confused about the setting, I never considered that maybe it is the kit lens that is causing the problem. Thanks for the recommendation. I'll try.
XF35f2 was never a good option for video as its focusing is hesitant when at infinity and has a lot of breathing -even if it's razor sharp, unlike the XF18-55 wich is very good for video, stabilized and mostly no breathing. It's may be the best fuji lens for video, bar the dedicated ones.@@tsiopin
It was quite cool in my country when I made this video and it was inside, so the overheating problem is not obvious until it reaches a certain length of time. Check out the camera test part, all the demos are in 4K. I hope my answer was helpful.
Some people encountered the issue, but for me, it's okay. Especially when I took it out for shooting, it didn't occur. However, the situation might vary in extremely hot weather.
Here in India the weather gets really hot. I really want to buy this camera but this is the only issue that is holding me back. Anyways thanks for the reply@@tsiopin
Great job cutting this video together, it’s very well done.

You can turn those modes off in Vlog mode on the right hand side of the touch screen..

I heard that in 4k 30 fps it takes video without significant overheating and can record unlimited length videos.
Thanks for your video! About FOCUS BREATHING, try a different focus tracking like HEAD OR EYE detection.

A very beautiful and interesting video. I really liked how you edited the video. It is completely different from what most UA-camrs do and talk about.
The video is really great, especially the battery test. I love it a lot.
Your kind comments mean a lot to me since I put a lot of effort into making this video. I hope that it will be helpful to you and others.
Wow this is very helpful ❤ thank u for sharing!
Thank you for liking this video! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
I have a canon m50 and when I have on stabilization do that out of focus, maybe turn it off when you shooting without moving
thank you,That's a good method to do so. 😺
I switch the auto mode to vlog mode, and then it gets better.
Do you remember what settings you were using for focus? I’m curious why focus system was having issues.
Theres so many reviews that have more info. Especially with autofocus settings…..
By the way, THE FILTER SETUP IS WONDERFUL!!! Thanks !!!
thank you so much!!!!

Thank you for sharing, I agree with you, and it's mostly because I don't know this camera very well either.
xt30 is a nice camera,congrats!!!
the way fuji made the look off the coffee shop vs the iPhone! it went from dreamy to 'meh'
Nice insight , curious about your video settings
thank you.

Hi, thanks for sharing. did you notice any issues with the AF while taking photos or was the AF issues only while recording video?
Hi, it only happens while recording videos. I haven't encountered any particular problems while taking photos. It's a pretty good camera.
@@tsiopin I decided to look at other options. The deal breaker for me on any camera is it not being weather sealed. Thanks.
thank you for this review.
Thanks for your kind words.
I think the reason why you always lose focus is because of the kit lens..
Oh...I didn't realize it might be the kit lens, I thought maybe I didn't set the correct settings for this camera...thank you~

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, it could be a significant reason.@@rafaelmarques1966
Switch to head focus detection or set it to a larger area in your side of the picture.
Nice work. 🎉
I appreciate your kind words.
the "brown" is called "Sepia" in English. Great video!
glad to learn a new word, thanks a lot! (English is my second language, sometimes I make mistakes hahaha.)🤩
@@tsiopin English is my first language and I always make mistakes!
Sepia: a reddish-brown colour associated particularly with monochrome photographs of the 19th and early 20th centuries.
"old sepia photographs"
Definitely true, I make mistakes when speaking Mandarin and Cantonese.

what lens are you using ?
❤❤❤
the kit lens you have is very bad at focus, get XF 18 50 lens or XC 35mm F2 wich better but fixed at 35MM
