  • This dish is a seafood classic. It is made with soft shell crab which is fried with garlic and black pepper. Soft shelled crab is not a distinct species of crab. Lots of different types of crab can be used and it is eaten all the world not just in Thailand or Asia.
Do you know what soft-shell crab is? It's a regular crab (blue crab in the Gulf of Thailand), that has left its exoskeleton in order to keep on growing. The shell will remain soft only for a few days. Thailand is one of the best places in the world to enjoy this delicacy.

A list of ingreedients would be good at the end of the video, as far as I can make out everything went into the pan in this order:
    Garlic
    Coriander Root
    Fresh Pepper Corns
    Capsicum
    Spring Onions
    Black Pepper
Soft Shelled Crab (fried in flour first)
    Rice Wine
    Sugar & Crispy Garlic!!??
Sounded like cris seed garlic whatever that could be! but could be crispy garlic, could be fried garlic which is what it sounded like at the start of the vid.

@@ThaiSabai9 thanks for the response! I love soft shelled crab but notice it can be a bit more fishier tasting than regular crab so I welcome all the aromatics!

It's very classy of you, Duncan, to not correct him with his "corLiander Loot". Blessed his tongue. I have to listen twice just to understand what's he was talking about, and then you casually said " coriander roots" just so your viewers can understand, without embarrassing the chef. Nice👍. Soft shell crabs is delicious 😋. My dad used to cook them and we eat with dipping sauce.

Love how Americans Ausies and Brits go abroad learn new dishes and recepies and take them back for their ridiculously expensive restaurants. They wouldn’t allow the Thai chap to step into their kitchen and pick up one of their signature dishes now would they ?
