- UPDATE AS OF 2021/02/26: It is now possible for games other than Mario Kart Wii to get Error 23904, despite what the video says. The instructions to fix it shown in this video should work for other games too (if you ignore Mario Kart specific fixes like CTGP). Make sure to always grab the latest links from the description!
Due to the fact that Nintendo WFC games contain extremely bad network vulnerabilities that allow malicious players to perform remote code execution attacks against their opponents, every Wiimmfi patcher must be updated to its latest version. For Mario Kart Wii, this enables a patching service that allows us to install fixes for critical bugs in MKW from the Wiimmfi server itself. And also extra features if so desired! For all other games, the new patchers will fix various known security flaws in those games. This video is a tutorial on how to get the updated patchers to get past Error Code 23904.

Please watch the video carefully, as it covers many important things.
Depending on what method you use to play Wiimmfi, your instructions will vary:
- CTGP Revolution v1.03 users just need to make sure they have completed all updates.
- The most recent version of USB Loader GX supports the new patching service natively; if you download it and set the "private server" setting to "Wiimmfi", it should work fine.
- ISO, WBFS, USB Loader users (excluding USB Loader GX) need to repatch their ISO, the link to the new patching tool is available here: download.wiimm...
- Users of the Internet Channel method of using the special patcher website don't need to do anything; we were able to fix that on our end.
- Users of the Homebrew Channel disc patcher need to download the latest patcher from download.wiimm...
- MKW Fun users can get the latest download from wiki.tockdom.co...
- Any other distribution or patcher, download the latest version and see if it works. If it doesn't pester the author till they fix it :P
Troubleshooting:
- Dolphin users may receive random errors if your Dolphin is outdated. If you're encountering errors after repatching, try updating your Dolphin build to the latest version.
- If you get Error Code 23905, just restart your console to fix it.
- If Korean users on the disc patcher encounter a game freeze when connecting, please redownload the patcher from the link above, it was updated to fix the problem.
- Other game freezes and general weirdness should be reported in the comments section.

Wow! It amazes me that people are trying to go to such stupidly ridiculous methods to cheat on a 10 year old game that is entirely supported by the community. Good work introducing a fix before this became a widespread issue.

The Dolphin bug has now been fixed server-side as of November 17th (added a workaround for Dolphins bug in the update), so Dolphin users should now have no problems connecting to Wiimmfi.

So you think allowing the server to patch your Wii is safer now? What if you guys decide to brick someone's Wii because you don't like him? Also maybe concerning huh? :P
Well, it's up to you, who do you trust more: Wiimmfi authors, or the cheaters on the game? :P
The thing is, executing code on another person's Wii hasn't officially been accomplished yet how it seems so most likely they can't do that. Maybe it's possible but exploiting the network can be hard. Regular game crashes aren't so bad. Wiimmfi authors on the other hand can easily use the brick code/whatever harmful thing and update that for certain people's Wii's and there you go. It's far more practical but I still doubt that appears appropriate to said authors :P
Welp, if that happens, then someone's probably gonna end up sued :P Pretty sure there's at least a dozen laws against that, hahah.
@@BullyWiiPlaza It hasn't been officially accomplished, but we strongly suspect it is possible, and we know for certain that some hackers were trying to get it to work. Would you have wanted us to wait until hackers started bricking consoles?
In addition, things like CTGP or FlashHax were always able, in theory, to brick certain people's Wiis using a mandatory update. Have they ever done that? No.
So, yes, we think allowing Wiimmfi to patch the Wii is safer, because we have no intention to ever brick a Wii, while we know for certain that hackers do have that intention, they just haven't found the exact way.

If you use a USB loader, you must have used an ISO at some point (to put on the USB stick).

Looking forward to the update that lessens the amount of disconnects, I get one about every 10 races or so and its super annoying on both my Wiis, it goes to a screen of "an error occured, eject disc restart wii etc."

Hello, i'm new to the Wii scene.
I order my first Wii, soon it will arrive.
And i was interested in online, the console is pre-modded by previous owner and far as i can tell should be running the homebrew and USB-Loader (What version, i don't currently know.). Now my question is, what is the best way i can make that console run online? (A.K.A play multiplayer)
The goal is to play with my friends. So any private solutions or at least most up to date method to run. (Please keep in mind, that this Wii was probably modded long time a go or at least with old software.)
Any tips on where to get started?

I have just updated on 15/11/18 ctgp, with no problems. However, I then jumped on a ctww and half way though watching them play, they just stopped moving and then after a few seconds it crashed, as in proper crashed with the noise and everything, not just where it put me onto the ctgp channel. They were racing on halogen highway if that were to effect anything but i highly doubt it, just letting you know of this. Also since the first hotfix update i have find it a lot harder to stay in a game without getting dced. Most likely, you know about this, but im just letting you know whats been going on :P

Hey Mr. Bean thank you for making the patcher possible but I have virtual console games namely Super Mario World, Street fighter 2 Turbo and Mario Kart 64 ever since I got the Wiimmfi patcher when I would open one of these games a green screen would show up for a split second and then the screen would go black but Audio was still coming from the game but when I pressed home it showed the game behind the Wii Menu and Reset buttons do you know how this could be fixed?

I think this issue may be related, but I'm not sure. I haven't played MKWii for about two months, and I had a craving to get on today. I was unable to verify with the CTGP server before I got on (in the CTGP Channel on WiiU), and I'm not doing anything sketchy. I re-installed the newest CTGP update, cleaned my MKWii disc, and re-setup my internet connection, and still nothing (it just gets stuck on initialising network, but my internet is quite speedy and works for everything else at the moment). Do you have any advice?

Hi, when I tried to play MKDS online, it said that the servers are down for maintenance or whatever, I didn't pay attention to the code, but it's the same error message, I was using a mobile hotspot if that helps

I installed the iso wimmfi patcher update on dolphin and when i try to connect I get error 20100 with all cheats disabled and removed from the ISO. What can I do?

@@MrBean35000vr Thanks for responding, As an update, I have currently passed the 20100 error by updating the SSL (three .pem files) on dolphin but am now getting 23904 with the patched iso that is updated with the red wiimmfi text.

It doesn't matter what you downloaded. If you only want to play online over CTGP there is no need to update the homebrew disc patcher.

First off- Thank you Mr Bean, you are amazing. Second off- What is the hell is wrong with these wack job hackers.... Don't these people have anything better to do with their stupid lives. I just want to play f******* mario kart once a day, it is a fun way to pass some extra time but honestly some of these idiots that cant bare to lose need to get some real life doctor therapy.

Please help! I have patched a Boom Street iso, but after this update it just gives me error code 23400, and the wiimmfi tools to patch .wbfs or .iso for other games than mkwii is not update, so it doesn't work..

When I try to connect to Nintendo wfc on mkwii for the first time, it says error code: 23400
What does this mean?
Means you're trying to connect to Nintendo WFC, which is shut down (and also showing the wrong error these days, it's meant to show 20110 but instead shows 23400). If you want to play online these days, you'll need to use Wiimmfi instead.

Okay, that's proof you didn't watch the video. The problem is not YOU cheating, it's that Mario Kart apparently contains bugs in its network protocol SO BAD that an OPPONENT could hack your Wii and brick it. No, you can't play online without the new patcher, which is designed to prevent that. Get over it.
Hello, mrbean so I downloaded the update and put it on my sd card but now on the homebrew channel nothings shows up and I deleted the original wiimmfi disc patcher so I don't know what I did wrong but I will redo what I did and see if I did anything wrong.
Edit: I accidently still had the "apps" folder inside of the wiimmfi patcher folder so I deleted that so I don't have two apps folders.
Edit 2: It still won't show up on the homebrew channel I will keep looking at what I did wrong.
Edit 3: I finallyfixed the problem, the problem was that in the autowiimmfipatcherv0.6 folder I had the bslug and another folder called wiimmfipatcher that had the files to run the "auto or disc" patcher in it so I moved the files to run the program to just the autowiimmfipatcherv0.6 folder and it finally started working!

If you don't have the patch, then you won't be able to connect. You need to follow the instructions in the video. Or what do you mean with "it won't let you"?
Like I followed mr beans instructions in his wimmfi vid but error 23039 popped up when I visited the Chadco website
wiimmfi.de still delivers 0.3 despite saying that it's 0.6
UPDATE: I manually deleted the "bslug" folder and the patcher's folder in apps, and now it works. Cache.xml's filename makes me suspicious of it being the culprit.

You can't re-patch MKW-Fun with the Wiimmfi ISO patcher. You need to re-download Wiimms MKW Fun and start over.

so i use CTGP on my wii and for some reason in worldwides i get randomly disconnected, i don’t get why because in all my other games i get under 40 ping and wiimmfi on ctgp worked perfectly for me a few months ago, is there anything i can do to fix this?
It's possibly a router issue where you can't directly connect to every one of your opponents (which Mario Kart Wii likes to do, it connects to everyone in the room in turn), that's pretty unstable and usually results in the game going wrong and dropping you after a while.
MrBean35000vr do you know of any ways of fixing this? i really love wiimmfi and everything people and you have done to make it possible to play online again. MKWii was my favorite childhood game and wiimmfi used to work perfect until recently. Do you know any fixes or am I just screwed?
Could try using the DMZ feature of your router on your Wii's IP. That's the usual advice.

Why can't you make CTGP compatible with WBFS/Dolphin? I can understand the anti piracy back when CTGP 1.03 first released, but now there is no legal way to purchase MKWii outside of China. Also, this renders self made legal backups useless with CTGP. Dolphin is understandable, because to prevent online hacking... EXCEPT that you can still access Wiimmfi on dolphin normally, and it is perfectly OK (except when hacking, duh). So may I get an answer, not just for me, but for anyone facing this problem?

You only need to wait a week if your console/Dolphin has messed up identifiers. The one week wait was removed for most people ages ago.
I was wondering if you can patch the Mario Kart Wii channel for competitions since it doesn't upload directly to Wiimmfi unless I use the Internet Channel method. Its already patched for competitions without the capability of uploading my records I've just completed online.

Hi, i have a problem with the patching stuff, i just got a dvd copy and i tried to patch it without homebrew, but it freezes at "loading disc", is there anyone that knows why does this happen and how to solve the problem?
The disc may be dirty or otherwise unreadable, or the Wii's disc drive may be failing. Give the disc a clean and see if it helps any.

Mr bean, I have a question about custom tracks, so I tried updating my custom tracks to get the new tracks and it won’t verify with the server and won’t initialize with the network for it to update. Now it said that the disk drive has stalled which I’ve never seen before. Do you know of a way to fix this. Do you think my SD card is full of memory?

Good thing I have not been using my wii. This is a very smart update and maybe we can stop hackers *BETTER* than Nintendo does.
The internet channel patcher always freezes my wii. I live in North America and my wii is NTSC. Does that matter or an I doing something wrong?
That's just because that patcher is unreliable. I have a new video about a much better method to use, you should watch that instead.

Help! I have the Homebrew disc patcher and after I copy the patch over and put the SD into the Wii and load it, the menu option says v0.6, but when I click 'load', the black and white screen says v0.3 at the top. I clicked 'yes to all' when I was copying the extracted zip to the SD drive to copy and replace. What did I do wrong or what am I missing? Thanks.
Weird that it didn't replace it. Maybe delete the original one off the SD card and then try again.
I've done that 4 times. I even tried copying it over one file at a time and replacing it that way. The date/time stamp of what extracted from the zip matches what I copied over. In the new patch zip, there was 2 folders and a readme file. One folder (bslug) has no files in it. The other folder (apps) has 3 files: boot.dol, icon.png, and meta.xml. The icon file has a 2014 date and the other 2 are from 11/16/18 and 11/7/18 respectively. I appreciate any assistance if you have any other advice. Thanks.

I've done everything for SD card and when I press the letter bomb on the wii messages it always freezes. Can anyone help me?
