That's not dirt he's walking on, it's gravel and rocks. Putting that on a smoldering fire would just protect the base fire and keep it going. Too many air pockets. Chrome is a smart guy and a caring one.
@@thegoodtom1718 I get that, but with water and a shovel you can stir and turn and spread the coals with the water to quickly douse the hotspots. I agree Not to cover it. Roots do transfer the “fire” and can after days restart.

It looks like the man who doesn’t need another hoodie… has got himself a new hoodie. Thank you for taking care of the still burning fire that, some lazy and entitled person left behind.
Keep nature safe, thank you for taking out that campfire. I’m looking forward to one day be able to do what you do. Seeing all that natural beauty in real life must be life changing.
The trip to Tuk is a little arduous in spot (been there twice) but well worth it. The Dempster is better than its reputation would have you believe, but still take care. It’s a highly varied drive from boreal forest to tundra and back again. The trees finally run out around Eagle Plains. The sense of solitude is quite amazing. You can hear a pin drop on a still day. Temperature at this time of year is around 10-15C. Tuk is lovely and very welcoming. The highway to it might be new and allegedly all weather, but it’s pretty badly frost heaved in places, again care being required. In a way, it’s a shame that humanity can commute so far north with all the contamination we bring. But, knowledge is power, and, if enough people see the pristine beauty, it’ll be easier to preserve it. Safe travels! We love your channel.
Wow....wow.....wow! Ok, hear me out, Chrome. You were debating about going home, they tell you about tombstone, but you were deciding whether to go or not. You decide to go to tombstone. You come across a campfire and put it out. A replay of your life is that you prevented a 🔥 that in an alternate reality, burns thousands of acres, and quite possibly, the life of living things. So......i believe you were put on that path chrome. You're saving the planet! ❤
I’m glad you happened by and saw that fire. Good on you and shame on whoever walked away from it without a care. Even if they didn’t have water they could have at least kicked dirt over it and put it out. You’re a good guy Chrome✌🏼✌🏼👍🏻👍🏻💜🩷
Chrome it is amazing to see responsible people like yourself that care enough to put out someones fire & report people having a campfire when it isn't permitted. Important message to anyone traveling out West.
Many sections of the Dempster are extremely rough, with the reduced speed you would be hard pressed to make it in 12 hrs ... we took 2 and a half days each way traveling around 8 to 9 hrs a day .. Yukoners thank you for putting out that fire Chrome 👍
What are the benefits of fireweed? Fireweed is an herb. The parts of the plant that grow above ground are used to make medicine. Fireweed is used for pain and swelling (inflammation), fevers, tumors, wounds, and enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia, BPH). It is also used as an astringent and as a tonic.
Crome thank you so much for sharing Dawson City! What an amazing place! I will never get to visit there, but thanks to you it feels like I have had the experience of that town with you ! That’s the sort of town you never want to leave!
Bro I just had to do this exact same thing in Campbell river , putting out unattended fires is crazy wild , so sad that people do this but Im Glad you caught it in time 😁👍🔥🚒💨
Your body seemed to release tension during the video today. We don’t see many of these days lately. Take care of yourself and Cruzie! Seeing you smile is great!
It's hard to imagine the enormity of that area. Everything looks so big up there. I love the trees that grow there, it's a beautiful place. Thanks for showing it to us arm chair travelers. Just can't understand how someone could drive off and leave a fire like that. Glad you had enough water, and was willing to use it to dowse the fire. Enjoy the rest of your adventure.
That black sand is probably mostly iron which can be found with placer gold and from volcanic activity a very long time ago. Also fires can burn underground so dig it up water it and bury it cause there are just to many idiots out there that dont know F all and brain dead. Thanks Chrome.👍👍🐕⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🚐👍👍
A beautiful outdoor of nature and those nitwits have the nerve to leave a campfire going!!!! Showing us all around smoky skies and that campfire could have spark a fire 🔥and made it worst!! - thank you for putting the fire out and yeah you had to use your own water - hoping you were able to get water at the camp ground. And you pick a awesome spot with a creek! The rain sounds so soothing. Just love your out door of nature just beautiful.

Hey Chrome, so glad you listened and went to Tombstone. That spot that backs onto the North Klondike River was ours last year. This week we were about 3-4 sites further up the river in #16. As you know, we continued on to Inuvick & Tuktoyuktuc. So worth it. Let's start planning for a longer break next year and more exploring here.
Ohhh Tombstone! 🤩 when I drove up last year, the dempster was VERY washboard and potholed up to the park, then better the rest of the way up! I do believe #6 is the site I stayed in. That creek is charcoal creek, so makes sense! I didn't even notice it was sand... I just assumed it was mud lol!
Weeelll, Chrome; once you're established with Van Toys on Vancouver Island in Nano, open up a second shop and store in Dawson City as a summer location. 😊 That way, you have time to get The Beast kitted out with a lift, extra fuel tanks, etc. You can at least get the stuff wholesale 😊.

Fair ply Chrome putting out this abandoned camp fire , it just shows most fires are man made & not this so called global warming , it makrs me so mad how people don't care about their surrounding & the impact
Thanks for putting that out, Chrome. I know for some people it's common sense to do so. The sweet sound of a propane tank out in the middle of nowhere, making breakfast.
Your black beans/ is it dog food brought back some bad memories 😂. I bought a bag of meat sticks at the truck stop one night. I cracked the bag open started into it and thought MAN THESE THINGS TASTE LIKE CRAP. So I flicked the interior lights and investigated the package turns I had bought me some Dog treats!
Hi, Just found your channel from Epic Family Road Trip, I’m a big fan of their channel so I thought I’d check you out, love the scenery from here in Pennsylvania 😊
Hey Chrome, so I just did the Dempster Highway about a week ago. I went all the way up to Tuk. It was mostly wet and muddy. I didn’t have much of a dust problem at all. I am sure when it dries out it is dusty as heck, but I had more of a mud, sliding issue. I am currently doing the Dalton Highway as I am speaking to you. I am using my talk feature to do this post. And as compared to the Dempster Highway, the Dalton Highway is horrendous. Way more potholes and bad areas and a lot of construction. I found the Dempster to be remarkable compared to the Dalton, as far as the condition of the road. I do find the Dalton to be incredibly more beautiful. I think perhaps the Brooks Range is so much more spectacular than Tombstone. Although I did find Tombstone to be incredible as well. But, the condition of the road probably has something to do with the fact that the Dempster has native villages at the end of it. Whereas at the end of the Dalton is just oil companies. It’s a haul road so I don’t think they care as much about keeping it in great shape for tourist like me. The Dempster on the other hand you have people who live up there who need access to services so they keep that highway in amazing shape. This is all of my opinion. I missed you by a day or two in Dawson city. I wish I had seen you. I am stopping by your shop on the way through Vancouver Island to pick up a package. I had ordered the package but never had it delivered so Amanda refunded me my money but I told her I wanted it so we discussed the fact that I was driving out here and I should stop by and pick it up. So that’s what I’m gonna do. Maybe I’ll see you. Maybe you’ll still be traveling. Walki in peace my friend.
Hey Anna-Marie! The package is super safe in the shop this time. We are not letting the post lose it again! 😂 Hope your travels are going well. See you in September!! ✌️
We did the dumpster highway in our truck and camper, drove to the Northwest Territories border and back. It was beautiful. We went in the beginning of sept, the tundra was stunning, so much red!
Dude just go up! You don't have to B-line it. Go to Eagle Plains, they have gas, a pub and cafeteria. Then you can hit up the Arctic Circle, Inuvik is a town where you can get some supplies, then it's like 2-3 hours to Tuk which is super worth it. When you do Alaska you'll be able to do the Dalton Highway which goes way up as well. Also don't forget to get your Sourtoe certificate in Dawson on your way back. Cheers!
After running into the same situation with a campfire left going after the family of campers left to go home. I keep 7 liters of water while camping just in case I run into a campfire left unattended.
You'd be surprised how hard it is to put a fire out. Twice now I thought I'd put out a fire, only to see it relight a few hours later. It happens if a large log is left partially burnt. Can still be hot enough inside to restart.
Our trees have been changing for a few weeks already. At 1st I thought there was something wrong with our trees, now I know, Fall is falling! In August! 😮
Oh my gosh! Putting out that fire might have saved a whole forest. Unbelievable.

Thanks for putting out that fire Chrome , who ever left that fire should have their license taken away
Thank you very much. SWEETIE. !!!
Hi from England 🇬🇧.. loving ❤ your videos.. wow.. Always an Adventure.

Thank you gor being such a hood steward if nature. This is how it should be.
