Hey all! I just built this golf app where you can get exclusive lessons from the world's greatest golf coaches. It's been the biggest game changer to helping me improve, and wanted everyone to be able to do the same. Check it out here! caddyai.io/
Your progress is nothing short of amazing. The biggest mental block for me has been (and is) taking the feeling from the range to the course. Frustration sets in, analyzing takes over, everything becomes tight....right into the dumpster. I'm learning from your work with Chris that I need to spend waaaaaay more time doing the drills at home. Getting good habits = less analyzing on the course!
@cjschmitt4882 Anyone can do the takeaway drill, work on their grip, practice addressing the ball, get to the finish position and hold it.. while watching tv. No money needed, converting wasted time to productive time. Problem solved.
Plan with your head, play with your heart. My biggest problem as well was thinking swing mechanics during a round of golf. I learned how to turn all that off and trust my body and my swing. All of my focus goes towards the Target now. Been shooting much better
Before i got married i used to hit all the bags in the club too. 🤣 JK... Your progress is awesome! Remember that every golfer has off days now and then. If that happens its all about going back to the fundamentals. Your doing great man!
Hahaha testing viewers if they actually end up watching until the end lol :) but actually didn’t realize I mixed those up. I’m cracking up right now 😂😂
@@JeromeRufin u have so many videos..which videos helped u most and in sequence? if u apply 80-20 method???It seems u have similar videos but from different teachers
Had a lesson yesterday and my Pro strengthened my grip same as yours. Guess you were blocking right. Hated the bow feel at the top, so went with “toe over heel” downswing. These videos are really relatable for me! Thankyou
its quite nice that the coach allows you to film and spread out all the knowledge he gives you and us this way. he could as well say come get a payed lesson if you want to know what i have to say.
Awesome work! Stick with your coach, get out of your head, remember to relax and trust your fundamentals. Don't throw in new thoughts because you "think" you need to do something new. You play your best with that buttery smooth swing tempo! Thanks for the journey!
Nicely done J.. great to see the your consistency coming. Fundamentals keep you grounded and centered. It's all paying off. Keep thing one shot at a time! Very impressive keep it up!
This series has helped me immensely and I’ve just return to the game after on hiatus for 22 years. It is all about getting the fundamentals correct. Thank you for putting this together.
Jerome, love the content, love you’re energy, love watching you improve at golf, and I love seeing you and Chris interact. The consistency is amazing. I honestly look forward to seeing what you’re up to each day! If I were closer I would 100% be going to Chris Smeal. Never took a lesson before but Jerome is proof he is a fantastic coach. Bravo to you Chris. I hope you’re getting new golfers to train.
I'm gonna go for 70 percent. - Yeah, right! Man, I love Chris's comments... LOL I wish I could go work on my game with Chris, but it's a bit far from Sweden. Your swing is looking so much better since you started working with Chris.
I'm on the same journey as you but at 38yrs old. Just put my first set of clubs together a few months ago a set of TaylorMade p770 and sim/Sims hybrids-driver. I enjoy chris as your coach over the others nothing bad on them but his way of teaching makes things simple and easy. Good luck on Your journey I know I'm enjoying hitting buckets at the range about to go play my first round in a week or so
Also my biggest issues come like in this video when I try and rush it and murder the ball. Might only get a few more yards that way but Flys way off to the right slicing it
I've always preferred a pretty weak grip but I'll lose the ball to the right. So I strengthened my grip like you and I do the 3 part/pause takeaway that is your drill. I hit most of my irons with a slight pull draw at the range yesterday but was able to straighten them later. I pulled out the driver and boomed several. When I got too aggressive, I hooked them pretty bad. But it was nice finding the left side of the range for once and getting more distance. Thanks to you and your coach. Btw, I love Chris' swing. Dude waits forever before that club comes down on the downswing. Just hangs back there. Sweet! I need to watch it at 1/4 speed. And no more excuses. You've found out how important the short game is - practice it more.
Yes, the tips help!!. I've been using the backswing tip and my driver, 3 wood, and 5 woods were doing what I wanted and going far. I have seen such great improvement in your swing. I think the 2 top things you're doing to improve in such a short time are: 1) You are putting in the work, it is one thing to get lessons but putting in the range work is just as important and 2) Love Chris Smeal style of teaching. I wish he was closer so I could take a few lessons.
Been following your videos and you have made great progress. A lot of what Chris says I have taken in to my game and my consistency has improved massively. One of the best tips is the simple breathing one, it just gives time to remove all thoughts from your head and relax. Good work, keep it up
Great content! Started playing golf about 4 months ago and your videos contributed to my progression tremendously. Just out of curiosity, what golf clubs are you using? I've been borrowing my buddy's for a while now and think it't time to invest in my own. BTW - Stadium is a great driving range!
Thanks dude! I was getting frustrated on my own journey to get better until I watched this one. Keep grinding! Prove all of the folks that tell us we can’t do it wrong!
@@JeromeRufin yea I saw that one but would love to see a close up of it. No worries I’ll work. It out!! Thx for the videos and inspiration. Good stuff keep grinding!
Seems that the girl in the background is one if Chris's students. She has the half way pause. Nice progress Jerome. Maybe find videos of Fred Couples swing...my favorite.
I thought your first or second lesson, Chris said right leg is allow to straighten?? Maybe he was referring to longer clubs. Btw your swing looks great now.
The nicest but most frustrating student ever haha. As an old git from Ireland, it just seems that everyone under 30 thinks they should be +4 within a year and hit the driver 350 standard!
So, how hard SHOULD we swing for a stock iron shot? 🤔 … since Chris says, “that’s a pretty big swing for a 9-iron” Obviously he means we should never swing 100% … so what does he recommend for the average swing? … 90%? …80% Inquiring minds want to know. Good stuff - keep up the good work 👍🏻
Definitely not following you. Cocky , I know it all, I have an excuse for everything, don’t follow directions, if you were to listen more and really implement what he is telling you , you will get better sooner , you say you got it but you do what ever you want.
Good stuff, but one thing I’m baffled is that your teacher wants to hit left all the time, where as most others try to eliminate the left side of course at all costs.
@DIOS10 I believe you are incorrect. Probably 85% of golfers have difficulty with hitting the ball right, or a slice. If you can eliminate the factor of hitting right (for a right hander), it's much easier to figure out how to make minor corrections to work with a draw, or eventually hit "straighter" shots. I think any golf teacher will tell you that. Most PGA pros, although they can work the ball left or right, play with a natural draw.
It's to change his habit of slicing i had to do that for a while with my driver until i could fully control the shot and understand how to release properly etc
@@LightningDogg yeah fair enough, but fair amount of pga pros, rather hit a fade, as if mishit the destruction is not as bad like a hook / pull , as we know the ball will hit more trouble going left as well is more controlled. But it’s all about opinions.
@DIOS10 I may have misstated my point. Chris doesn't want him to play using a hook or pull. It's merely the first step to correcting leaving the face open at contact. When he can eliminate that 99% of the time, then he can learn what adjustments to make to achieve a square face AND play a draw or fade by choice. You are correct about having options but PGA pros have knowledge of every facet of their swing, and correct accordingly. A beginner doesn't have those options, and the open face at contact is a death sentence until corrected. Just my opinion. Cheers
Been watching many of your lessons lately but this one i have to somewhat disagree with. I get you’re only hitting a short iron but i still advocate for weight shift even on short irons vs the instructor telling you to keep weight forward and never shift any back. No sway of course but there is still weight shift on full shots even with short irons. It allows a more fluid, athletic motion. What people tend to do on full shots starting and keeping weight forward without knowing initially is push off front foot and fall back during swing creating thins and chunks

Great to see things starting to click for you. Hard work paying off 👍
Hello, I’m curious What is your new grip? It doesn’t look like interlock, or overlapping. You are doing really good.
It's just a stronger grip on the left hand, and weaker on the right :)
Looking forward to a 320 yards bomb on the first par 3 tomorrow 😅

its all a tax write off for the biz 😎

200 7 iron...whoa

… 90%? …80%
