- Traditional Indian dance forms have been used for centuries as medium for storytelling and instruction. Today, they take on yet another unique facet - that of inflight safety instructions. Air India’s new safety video features eight classical and folk Indian dance forms wherein each mudra or dance gesture corresponds to a different instruction.
Continuing on our journey to be a global airline, this is our ode to the India that we carry in our heart.
I'm not indian, I have no idea why UA-cam recommend this to me. But I think that this was the most coolest, vibrant, innovative and most elegant video I've seen all week! Well done Air India!, Love from Trinidad 🇹🇹❤🇮🇳

To the people who are saying the dances from their state were missed out- my dear Indians , India has a thousand dance forms, its not possible to fit every one of them into a single video. I hope y'all appreciate the initiative of Air India to show this in the first place❤

When I was in Europe, I saw so many Filipinos who were extremely racist against Indians. In fact, I would say the vast majority of Filipinos I met there were extremely prejudiced and racist towards Indians and other South Asians. It's nice to see someone who doesn't share their opinion.

I am an Australian man, and this makes me want to fly with Air India 🇮🇳 You have a vibrant culture 🎉
Don't even try that. You will have a shock of your life - u may even stop flying after that. The video is to lure customers like you. No inflight system, no service. Its the Airlines for Indian elderly people speaking native languages. That is the only service and is the best. So don't even think of this venture. Flew yesterday (Sydney - Delhi) and the experience was terrible - search other videos on Air India complaints.
My comment doesn't imply that India as country is bad - but Air India is certainly a huge blackspot on the name. India is beautiful like in video.

Do google the beautiful dance forms of Kashmir, Sindh, Eastern Bengal and Western Punjab, that are sadly being preserved by only a tiny minority who dont see it as shirk. Punjabi culture is almost entirely Standard North Indian culture, Sindhi is close to Kutchi, Saraiki and Rajasthani culture. The western half of Pakistan in the modern day has very little to do with Indian culture and is mostly Eastern Persian.
I assume the commenter you replied to was speaking from a Punjabi perspective and you replied with a Pashtun one. You must remember, Punjabi Muslims gave up their ethnic Punjabi identity in favour of an Urdu Muslim identity, but the other cultures of Pakistan did not. I think she mentioned the plight of her own Punjabi culture that they gave up on.

As a Kathak dancer it’s absolutely fantastic to see the dance form I love, and so many other beautiful classical and folk dances, used in such a creative & informative way!

@@N_ei_L Forget About PIA it is really in a bad situation to even afford its own survival, maybe in the past it could afford lavish & luxury campaigns, but it is now on survival mode. Earlier when it started its Uniforms were Even Designed by Paris Based Designer (Perre Cardin).
Getting back to your question maybe in the future it could design a nice campaign & including this dance is no big deal as definitely there might be some people who are interested in dance & could perform this 1 as well.
