Hello everyone,
I am continuing my series on Making Base Wreaths with this new tutorial on making a base POOF METHOD deco mesh wreath. I love this series as it gives everyone a little insight on how to start off making your own wreaths.
They are fun and easy to do (with a little practice).
You can choose any colour or style of deco mesh and add any embellishments you want to create your own special UNIQUE wreath for any occasion or holiday.
MATERIALS USED IN THE VIDEO:
21" Deco mesh (purchased at Michael's)
14" Wire wreath frame (purchased at Dollar Tree)
Pipe cleaners (purchased at Dollar Tree)
Glue gun
Glue sticks
Scissors

I gave it up because I just didn’t think I could do it as I’m not a very “crafty” person. So I ran across your channel a week ago or so and jumped back on the horse. I was more less trying to see the outcome & I didn't use the mesh ribbons I really want to use as far as the colors goes... I used some ribbons i already had. So you start on wire 3 from the inside moving to wire 2 then wire 1? Then zig zag 3 to 1 once around? Very pretty so full!

Hi Gwen, yes, the 6" deco mesh is a little too small for the poof/pouf method, I agree. Give that a try and I'm sure you'll love the results a lot better. Thanks so much. 😊

Hello, beginner here! I'm starting off small with Dollar Tree's 14 in wire form , about what size deco mesh do you recommend i use? Perhaps the 6 in rolls they sell .
Hi there....Thanks so much for the question. Yes, starting out with the Dollar Tree wire frame and their 6" rolls is a perfect way to start. I also have a video showing how to use the 6" rolls several different ways if you want to check that out. Thanks. 😉
Can you do the poof method with 6” and 10” deco mesh? Any changes I would need to make to make it full?
Hi Carol Rae, You could use 6" or 10" deco mesh to make the poof style wreath, but I would triple up the 6" and double up the 10" mesh in order to make it as full as the 21". Hope that helps and thank you. 😊

Can I use this method on a square wreath form and use more narrow deco mesh?
Hi Shirley...yes you could use this method for a square wreath with a narrower mesh. I would maybe make your spacing a little less and use a little more mesh to make it full looking. Hope it turns out.
Could you show how you would add flowers to this wreath? I am not very creative. 1st time crafter. During pandemic it was therapy and I brought home ALOT of flowers and ribbon and mesh. I absolutely loved my first ever curly wreath. I'm struggling though on how to add flowers tastefully and not just in a bow. Would be SO helpful if you were to do a tutorial or post a picture giving for mesh with flowers 101. A fellow Canadian from down the road.

How much deco mesh did you have left? I have opened rolls, but I don't want to be short.
Hi there, for this one, if memory serves me correct, I only had a little bit left. Not enough for another wreath....I'd say I had about 30" left over from this roll. Hope that helps.

I wonder how this would look with 10in mesh? What if any modifications would need to be made
Hi there, I have done this method with 10" deco mesh. I found that I needed more of the 10" mesh for coverage. I do like a full wreath. The 21" mesh does great for coverage, so if you're using the 10" I would use more to get full coverage. 😃😃😃
@DavesWreaths I LOOOVE a full wreath as well! Also any suggestions on filling in between burlap poofs when you misjudge how much you'd need and now can't find the same material?
How many yards of 21 inch mesh did you need total please?

What size of poufs would you use on an 18" wreath?
Hi Peggie...I haven't used the poofs for an 18" wreath form yet. But I would say maybe go 6" larger and see how that looks. It's all about experimenting sometimes. Let me know how it turns out. 😄
You said you only used one roll of 21” By how many yards?

Hi there, unfortunately, for this base wreath, I did not do a decorating video on it. There are other base wreath videos on my channel that show how to decorate various base wreaths. Hope that helps a bit.

Why can I use if I can’t find pipe cleaners
Hi Kelly…if you can’t find pipe cleaners, you can always use floral wire or tie wraps. They come in handy when you don’t have any pipe cleaners. Hope that helps. 😊
