Notice how they set the narrative, buying batteries online, if only they bought them from a proper British shop with proper British batteries this would never happen. 😂
always play safe with batteries always buy from official sources for batteries I have two mobility scooters one of which has lithium batteries I only charge it when I am home and have a fire alarm set it above where the wheelchairs are stored and have fire door between my home and the shed where where the wheelchairs are stored to give us time to escape in the event of a fire
best advice,Any one buy second hand E Bikes,Best to store them in a place where fires do spread would be one thing better,If the fire breaks on,Got less chance of causing a massive fire
We was In hospital we had no idea the battery had been plugged I make sure not to leave any when going out but unfortunately one had been plugged in to charge while we was out and it failed
Why? He might have put it on charge straight after it had been used, Batteries get hot discharging and putting them on charge makes them even hotter. My charger has a temperature sensor so if the battery gets hot it shuts down and cuts the circuit.
Never buy cheap batteries. Always source from a reputable manufacturer. Dont leave a charging battery unattended. These things react like mortar bombs under thermal runaway. But it is always important to do your research when purchasing because cheap batteries are always wrapped to look like the real thing..I both sympathise and despair with this guy. Personally i suggest folk look into how rechageable batteries work. Trust me, its an eye opener.
The cells within the battery packs are very delicate, they do not take kindly to abuse or heavy handedness, any break in circuitry , dislodgment, dropped battery, water ingress etc, abuse any battery cell not just lithium and it will react, my advice is to handle it with care at all times and never leave a charging battery unattended.
Its always the same. People never learn. Pay the correct price for dangerous goods. If a $1100 product is advertised for $300 by noname scammers, don't purchase it. It might be more expensive in the long run. I see it every day and people don't learn..
Dont buy them as fire hazard, if you do make sure its from a know retailer, charge in kitchen with dooor shut, only during the day and unsure you have an part 6 interlinked detection so you get early warning.
Well first off we didn’t plug the battery in, it was plugged in while we was at the hospital with our newborn so before jumping to conclusions make sure you at least ask or know the full story!
@@lauranatale8481who plugged it in, ? Was it plugged in on charge in the box you received it in. I'm confused. The reporters state something different in the clip.
There’s been so many apartments going up in flames bc of scooters. A freeway outside my city was shutdown for 3 days bc of battery fire. It gets up to 118 degrees where I live and I have seen half dozen Teslas on side of road on fire. Idk but seems like the environment could do better without battery vehicles.

Don't be jealous Johnny because you can't afford and e bike 😂 You logic makes no sense here he shouldn't have been lazy buying an e bike so deserves having his whole house and family burnt down? If he wants to be "lazy" and buy an e bike people can and will, they shouldn't have to have this as a problem. Plus you get way more range and can go further on an e bike, getting out for longer. People should be more aware!! We have the same type of problems in Australia 🇦🇺
We are easily conned when we see batteries for less than half price.
Poor cat😢
Didn’t the same thing happen when people started getting electric scooters when they came out?
Yep
YEP!!!!

This also happened last year in Leicester. They had a lucky escape ✌🏼❤️
You can get bags to charge and keep batteries in and contain fires .

We have a large number of ebikes and we are always told that never charge the bike indoor, never!!!
Name and shame the company, or at least tell us which one it is so we the general public dont buy it
How do you know it's the company's fault and not misuse of the product? These things happen from time to time.

What mushroom has this guy been sleeping under? You do not leave Lipo batteries on charge unsupervised or charge them near anything inflammable.
