    Hi. Wondering why the longer exhale is important? Also what is the difference between 4 7 8 breathing and box breathing, I.e which is better?

    I practice this method in the savasana position. In my opinion it can be accomplished lying on the floor as well as in seated meditation asanas.

    When you hold your breath do you do it by closing the muscles to the throat or by continuously tensing your diaphragm?

    Thank you! I've seen this demonstrated breathing out of the mouth as wel as breathing out of the nose. What difference does it make breathing out of noah's versus mouth?

    This is helpful but just to point out each count doesn't last a second, it's more like a half-second. People can get put off because they found breathing out for 8 seconds difficult, however, half-second counts are easier to manage.
