Why can't MC battling evolve into something with less detrimental consequence? J. Cole's position mirrors an André 3000 point of view on the competitive nature of the MC in the culture. Pandering for views and numbers at the expense of one's humanity/life is something I am not necessarily endorsing. I am running my own race as mandated by the burden of my duty to write and to speak. People love blood sports until they are forced to be locked in the cage. The "dog fight mentality," as I coined it, is about pitting people against each other (especially in hip-hop) whilst avoiding the short end of the stick or any true responsibility. We love to see how dangerous pit bulls can be, when they probably want be peaceful creatures. #scarecrowzw
Cole is a master of his craft and this is a brilliant song, but the problem with him backing out of the beef is that for YEARS he has rapped about how no one can go toe to toe with him. And the first challenge that arises he backs out of… still love him though
There's a difference between beef and competition... He's been competing on all his features.. it would be extremely difficult with Cole battling Kendrick without Kendrick feeling some type of way... The optics would look like he's teaming up with Drake to take him down

The problem is Cole is trying to play both sides. He's acting on this track like he's above the drama, the beef, the competition, but the whole beef started with Cole saying "love when they argue the hardest MC ... we the big three". He talked so much shit on FPS and then as soon as things went south, he is now trying to gaslight his fans into thinking that none of it matters to him, when it clearly does
This part! People are killing me absolving Cole of all the part he played in this. I think the song is fire and you can't deny his lyricism and delivery, but you don't get to through the stone that starts the fight and then walk around live your morally above everyone else. Go back and look at other times when Cole was wagging his finger claiming higher morale ground, only to come back and say, "I had to check myself because really I was just being a hater"

He had him say 4 words 😂 "I see dead people" and walked off besides performing classics. And sure, absolutely beating a woman is terrible and absolutely not condoned in any way. But we're talking about pedo-phillia and trafficking of children charges here. Idgaf, there IS a difference! And guess what? The rabbit hole is REAL. If you think Diddy is capable of alll he did, and Drake isn't just because is portrayed as this "poppy" nice guy, you're tripping. Drake is controlled by the elites and as we all know, the industry and Hollywood is basically one big cover-up for trafficking. Diddy is just the fall guy cause he got too comfortable and got out of line with powerful people. That's why Lucian Grainge signed that 400 mil deal with Drake so he could move Diddy out the way and use Drake (and people he knows of course) to continue what's been going on for centuries. S.A.
Damn, that Amazon Prime bar went completely over my head 😅
At the end of the day Cole knows more about all of this than any of us do. This track is phenomenal.
The optics would look like he's teaming up with Drake to take him down
There’s a third meaning to search primes. Prime numbers are rare so you’ve gotta search for them
4th meaning is transformers going back in time (optimus prime)
5th meaning is Twitch Prime because you get a free sub from it. Cole is sayin u gotta search the subliminals!
You think Cole would be shouting out Drake in public if he really believed any of the accusations Kendrick and everyone else was trying to throw on him? You people must be brain dead.
"fuck all the narratives" King Cole. These people are lowkey praying for drake to be hurting children sooo bad that they cant think straight anymore.
And jon is one of them. I wish he was better than that. Used to love his reactions, but his bias is ridiculous @@JDell401
He’s on tape kissing a 17 yearold lol. Yall can say whatever but if that was your daughter you’d be talking different, same goes with Cole
@@nabdbshabsnbxbsnna598 context is key here though. It's weird for sure, and definitely the wrong move, but he was only like 22 himself, and it was part of the show he would do every night. He should have told her to go back down when she said she was 17, but he didn't because he made a stupid decision. I don't think that shit makes him a pedo. Just someone who made a stupid decision at a young age. It's not quite the same as beating a woman like Kendrick did.
@@nabdbshabsnbxbsnna598 Yes, and it was not illegal. The Dad was actually in the crowd at the time lol... Drake a 22, she as 17 (legal in the state) and thats all that happened.
You. wont keep that same energy for Jay Z or Dre huh? Were you this outraged when Kendrick put a certified rapist all over his album? No? Is it because you hate drake and need an excuse? thought so.
That dead presidents sample😭🔥
NOBODY was stopping him, though. IDK why he felt the need to give his fans an explanation. AND I think Cole missed the whole point of Kendrick's beef was bigger than Drake!
So much of what Kendrick has said has been proven as hypocritical lies, slander, and hyperbole I can’t believe you’re putting stock into the “allegations”
Same with the shit Drake said about Kendrick.
Jon is actually being a terrible person in this moment. Hes ignoring all the terrible accusations against Kendrick and doesn't even give them a thought, but putting so much weight in the ones levied against Drake. Its just insane seeing a grown man want something to be true so bad that they just ignore all facts that prove it otherwise because they are a fan of another man they will never meet.
What are the terrible accusations you nincompoop? Drake's lies about Whitney who is on a music video for Not Like Us dancing to it?
@@ArdynSol so like how Whitney stayed by Bobby’s side till she died right…. He obviously didn’t beat her since Whitney was by his side right /s.
Either way there is not a single allegation from a victim against drake. Until then you’re dreaming.
He also takes kendrick to be a messiah i guess
This is why I love Cole😭❤️
Looked like he hated that he gave Drake props 😂 You gotta move on Jon
I agree. Cant believe im witnessing a grown man fan girl and wish for something to be true so hard. He said it himself. There have been no accusations, no cases, nothing. The only thing is lines from a diss track by a man that is his enemy and absolutely despises him.
He is a weeknd fangirl since he met him or knows him, so he has to hate Drake from now on as Abel doesn't f with Drake.
You never fail to keep things interesting!
bot
I didn't even catch the "Dead Presidents" sample in my reaction video until the part between verses🤦 I'm proud to say I'm from a generation who can still call it out by name though💯
dead presidents is such a nostalgic track wow
I think it would be weird as hell to have a problem with what he said, people who hated on him for dropping out take the beef stuff way too seriously when it has nothing to even do with them lol
Go back and look at other times when Cole was wagging his finger claiming higher morale ground, only to come back and say, "I had to check myself because really I was just being a hater"
damn your comprehension sucks
Are you planning on reacting to Sampha's Lahai Deluxe?
This is a fenomenal move from Cole. He can now swiftly move on and start with a brand new slate for The Fall Off. If he hadn’t made this track, a lot of people would have tried to bring in the beef again when the album drops
Facts. It needed to be addressed fully before the album so the focus can be 100% on the project
Cole maintains being the most relatable rapper probably ever unironically
Lol how?
@@chrisb7831 the way he address real life struggles in an easily digestible way. His simple yet affective story telling, and his authenticity.. for examples he’s said many times he’s wast the one shooting and holding guns.. spoke about college and finishing college and his struggles through college which is extremely relatable . He speaks about struggles with vulnerability and his insecurity.. he’s used a “type beat” beat and literally just handed to the produce to post on his own UA-cam page for free. Not wearing too much flashy shit, no controversy.. and not to mention unlike ye , he’s maintained his relatability through his whole career . The whole able 2014 forest hills is an album full of relatability .. that’s its selling point. I can keep going if you would like me to.
@@chrisb7831 also unlike Drake, he’s been able to maintain his authenticity. Unlike Kendrick he drops more and objectively speak Kendrick lyrically ability sometimes makes you really have to think about the song .. I’m not saying that’s bad cause he number 1 to me, but if a person can’t understand it, then they can’t relate to it.
@@NotVeryGudGamer There's plenty of rappers that do that, past and present. There's plenty of hypocrisy in his lyrics and the whole beef has plenty examples of that. Not saying Cole isn't relatable, I just disagree in saying he's the most relatable ever.
@@chrisb7831 i could respond, but the good thing about these types of opinion is that neither one of us is wrong or right . There are plenty of rappers who posses the traits that j Cole possess, i just feel like j Cole has been able to utilize those traits that make him relatable the best. He not the best rapper.. i would say he’s pretty damn far from being that but he’s definitely the most relatable in my opinion.
Cole is so Nasir Jones, true lyricists
“Me, Jay and Frank white are like Cole, Drizzy And Kenny”
Nas
12:02 why don't you keep that same energy for Kendrick who is friends with Dr Dre and brought Dre out to play NLU with him at his pop up show? I'm sure you're already aware what Dr Dre was up to when he was 22 years old...
Yo look up how Dot even got connected with Dre and you realize the bitch in hin
Because this guy also takes part in all the narrative driving
@@wuthurer Facts
Because hes so far down the Kendrick stan rabbit hole that he turns a blind eye to anything he does. But allegations with hardly any evidence against Drake is deemed factual; and apparently its a weird move for cole to publicly state hes still friends with him? He's fairly hypocritical lol
S.A. Abuse, and sacrifice. And yes, Human Sacrifice
To be clear, Dot recorded 4 tracks in response to Push Ups and the Taylor Made taunt, and hearing snippets of FM. Never responded to Family Matters or the 🖤6.
Victory Lap?😂 One banging beat while Drake got knocked for catchy vibes.
Aye bro i literally just watch you react to dead presidents n i had same reaction when i heard it
Coles still my favourite of the three but Kendrick’s the goat
What is up with these guys and dropping only on youtube😭
View I think there’s more money with UA-cam view then streaming… or with UA-cam you can just drop when ever. And it’s free so more people can hear it!
@@Mr.Levvels dont you think it might be in the ablum
@@unclebobbyI have a feeling this is going to be a loosie. Not on the album. Cole may not even put this on streaming. If I'm remembering correctly, some of the recent Kendrick and Drake songs were UA-cam and IG exclusives, which weren't uploaded to streaming sites.

It makes it feel exclusive and special
Love the video Jon as always. Question does anybody know how to get that background for a green screen?
Wouldn’t say he finally speaks, he addressed why he backed down on stage with the apology in April. Seems to me like he’s still affected by his decision which is why he’s talking about it again 6 months later.
Some just don’t understand Black men when we behave like men. We do not bend to the culture. We are the culture. Too many got it twisted.
Ayyyeee Jon love your reactions always
They wanted bloods and click to make their pockets grow is a line directed at the UA-cam reactors that was calling Cole out and wanted him to jump in.
Love Cole but he is so self righteous. As if he hasn't been subbing anyone for the past 10 years . And I actually think he would have lost the beef . Because he ain't prepared to get that dirty . Great rapping tho . But drop the Big Bro act
Agreed I can’t help but feel what we see from him is all a facade and nobody actually knows the real J. Fold cause he’s always flip flopping.
@MU5T1991 I agree but I don't wanna slander Cole because he is a phenomenal rapper. But he's borderline patronising and hollier than thou
@@Maka5velli yeah it’s very disappointing and this is coming from a day one cole fan. I always had him as my goat and defended him through all the years when fans would his music put you to sleep. But this, this I can’t defend. It’s dishonourable and quite frankly as a man makes me sick.
@@MU5T1991 lmao read ur comment that shit is so funny
even excluding the diss track, it did it feel like half of MDL was subs, and to back out after that is kinda crazy
Yo Jon i really like your reaction and i think you would really like Sleep Token and its such a great rabbit hole maybe you can do a reaction on them, theyre amazing. (for example songs like: The Summoning, Chokehold, Take Me Back To Eden, Alkaline, Rain, ...)
Lonnie Liston smith - A garden of peace - OG Sample 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I do not understand why people think you MUST engage in beef in Rap.
Song speaks for itself.
Actually that's not Jay's. That beat is older than that
@JonDenton yo man you gotta react to Jordan ward / Joonys EP JRNY. Definitely your vibe, would love to hear what you have to say!
Cole is was and will always be 🔥. Joint is gas.
Got to stay balanced and think he's got to be accountable for the Numero UNO bars too. Drop The Fall Off 👍🏾
Why do it have to be a diss. He is just showing his talent. He still have Hov beat. Proud of him. K'dot got those ninjas working that pen. Glad to see JC back. 👍
Has Jon listened to Malz Monday yet?
So this whole time Cole was talking to Kendrick and that’s why he backed out. But when he says someone was using bots and paying for dirt he’s been talking to Drake lmao ok yall got it.
some lyrical for ur headtop: 38 Spesh - Had It Coming ft. Havoc, Lloyd Banks
The only opinions on this song is anyone who immediately picked up on the Lonnie Liston / Jay-Z sample.
I get your review but why would Cole believe anything Kendrick said? Like he can't lie and just make up stuff for views and attention?
“Kendrick wouldn’t do something like that” are you his momma? You’re his best friend that hangs out with him on the weekends? They put so much faith in this man just bc they that petty 😂
Earth gang flow at the end
Correct me if I'm wrong, only heard it once but 1st verse about kendrick and 2nd about drake? He addressed a lot and the bars were just insane! Didn't catch half of it but jon has got us!! ❤😂
** end of the first verse about parents ** being about kendrick
@@nazzsharma9010 I think the first verse is typical introspective shit. the second verse is about the beef in general.
@@FBIAgent-bs9ie yeah I had another listen and you're right. I did put that in the comment below, more about the parents bar at the end of the verse. :) but thank you!

Yo dude Benjamin Button is a masterpiece ain’t no weird movie watch it again it’s brilliant it’s all about Katrina and memories and fragility of life and perspective come on meng! Lol
Was any of the drake or Kendrick shit ever even confirmed ? That was my main gripe with the beef
“your friends told me you beat your wife”
“well your friends told me you have a secret kid”
“Oh yeah? Well my friends told me your wife cheated on tou”
Like holy shit looking back it was middle school gossip fest that was never confirmed. The only reason drake lost that was bc he’s a lot more public and Kendrick is heavily favored in the purist scene which is where the beef was most recognized at
Jon hates Drake 😂😂😂
"You can never please everybody"
As everyone hates him regardless.
There is those fans like me who would love his music regardless as if I was the only fan left in the world. Il still go offline and listen to all 3 and respect their craft but rn J.cole is just undeniably amazing
You’re like a full blown hip hop head now!
I noticed alot of reactors, not you, get impatient listening to this track waiting for the beef and disses. Thats what he was talking about in this. Its easy for people sitting there listening to be bloodthirsty and calling him weak for the "apology" which btw i dont think he ever said he was sorry, just that it didnt sit right with his soul. He cant just make fire song and speak on it. And listeners cant just shut up and listen.
Kind of crazy you're saying that Cole can't publicly support Drake because of something that we have no proof of, no cases, no victims, no nothing at all. We forget Cole knows Drake as a person as a friend and here you are talking about something without anything that supports it that's a crazy narrative to continue
Cole is trying to redirect the narrative. The battle was over 5 months.
so no one else clock the Cleo Sol sample?
So Kendricks claims on Drake is constantly coming up but Drakes claims on Kendrick is swept under the rug?
Both claims have no proof yet one is constantly brought up - it’s weird to me
Their is some proof on the Kendrick domestic allegations, I agree with you. The battle and the beef was decided the second Kendrick called out Drake's blackness.
@@dmjx93 he always wants to bring up Drake accusations as if they’re fact. He doesn’t even try to hide how much the beef altered his opinion of drake, which sucks for those of us who can still be fans of both of them
what proof?@@surgicalsummer24
The Drake PDF/groomer allegations have already been discussed for years before the beef. The allegations against Kendrick are fresh for a lot of people, and there wasn't enough of a paper trail to make it believable.
1000% and ahe bots/algorithm is still in effect. Anyone paying attention can see that there were subs fired at kendrick in this song, yet no youtube reactors are touchin that yet. You can find 200 videos about drake allegations but kendricks allegations are conveniently not up for discussion like that.... keep that third eye open my brothas
