I got it, i got.
First step: buy Heller.
siemens control but yes
In my workshop, you will see the lathe of all kinds of parts
No, ACM works with Siemens and other brands too like Fanuc for example. Off course if you control is Siemens you will have more fancy screens to see the software working…but in the end works with others CNC’s
The way ACM adapts to changing conditions showcases the power of smart manufacturing. It’s like having a digital assistant ensuring every cut is perfect. Great video, Barry!
👍👍👏
We have a similar thing on our DMGs with Heidenhain Control, its called AFC there (adaptive feed control) but you can also change the lead in and lead out speed there. Pretty useful feature. EDIT: But there is one thing you should be aware of using this: It changes the feed based on Spindle load not Tool load which means If you are having a dynamic milling path with different axial depths of cut you could overload your tool on the tip cutting edge because If you are cutting in a shallower region the spindle load would go done because ap is decreased, this would increase the feed but now the tip portion of the tool is running 50% faster than the tool maker designed it for, this could ruin your toollife.
Great function. IT exists for 15 years. iTNC530

I've been waiting for this video based on a Titans FaceBook thread a while ago. Thanks Barry for showing the details of this in operation and the potential savings of time! Manual machinists rely on the feedback of machine dial "feel" and spindle sound but mainstream CNC has been slow to adopt realtime strategies that account for spindle and axis servo load, vibration, and current consumption.
This new ACM feature from Siemens is AWESOME! Good stuff Barry!
In my workshop you will see all kinds of turning
This application is not new, it has been on the market for more than 20 years.
ACM-Air Combat Maneuvering; Barry is Top Gun. Donnie, going down in flames?
In my workshop, you will see the lathe of all kinds of parts
I've seen this option for software like CGTech Vericut but never on a machine control based on torque values. Very Cool!
Dope feature! Great tip Barry!👏
In my workshop, you will see the lathe of all kinds of parts
Glad to see you,Barry! We need more chips!!
Boom to you as well sir! Great video!
In my workshop, you will see the lathe of all kinds of parts
So it's basically Vericut Force built into the control. That's pretty dope.
Amazing Technology ! 👍

yall missing out 75% not subscribed thats wild these guys spittin straight facts, I strive to be in a similar position
I just got a whole new respect for Siemens control, I will seriously be bringing this up to management.
In my workshop, you will see the lathe of all kinds of parts
I used to run Siemens 840d converter in 2007 and loved it

On break now about to get back to machining
Real

In the shop I work in we make parts that require micro tools but only as big as a 14.5 OD wheel hub I make for big red lifts by Taylor.
Thanks
Incredible! I love Siemens controls!
In my workshop, you will see the lathe of all kinds of parts
Nice!
In my workshop, you will see the lathe of all kinds of parts
When doing production and using. It's like being done the end of the day instead of coming in the next day and running more parts till lunchtime.
In my workshop, you will see the lathe of all kinds of parts
You'll never get me to touch a seimens controller for the rest of my machinist life.
have you guys tried out the siemens nx cad/cam software?
I'm subscribed
In my workshop, you will see the lathe of all kinds of parts
But sometimes customer has inquiry how to manage the optimized cutting condition not just real time adjustment.
Being that you guys listened when I told you years ago to get a tornos. Now it's time I think you guys get a yazda.
In my workshop, you will see the lathe of all kinds of parts
@@Lathe.Lab-vc3td lathes of parts?
wooh!
In my workshop, you will see the lathe of all kinds of parts
Is it possible to use ACM in a Shopturn program too?
I cant find this on my Tormach?
Boom!
In my workshop, you will see the lathe of all kinds of parts
acm= feed optimization and cut the cut air, nice feature. do you think cloud NC make a difference???
In my workshop, you will see the lathe of all kinds of parts
just need to keep creative with the issue ;)@@Lathe.Lab-vc3td
Does anyone know the drum & bass track playing during cutting footage and at the end of the video? Shazam sadly doesn't know it. Example at 3:57 and at the end at 5:02. Please help, good people of youtube or if someone from Titans reads this, perhaps the editor could tell me which song they used?
[edit]
Found it! It's "Full Train - Dreem"
👏👏👍
the real question is
you can add FEED ?
because from what i saw, TITANS go always at 100%
i know i know is roughing pass but as TITANS said, to be better and work with the best, you CANT run or the client will not accept the pieces (was like a video about inconel and lockeed? about true feed rate and best parameters to be considered machinist and just not metal farmers with a shovel called end mill. LoL)
Ok, so , time to retrofit my machines with Siemens controls,
My question is how much accuracy is lost using this feature
Can macron adjust it??😊
1 minute saved on a part for a run of 500,000 is an entire year.
That's great now all we need is a million dollar machine, now what does the other 99% of machine shops use to speed up cycle times?????
What about the change of tool life?
This is the good question. it dépends of the material you use. the wear/feed fonction is différent for each material.
tool life will go up in some cases bc it is keep the same chip. in ACM there is also tool monitoring as well
👍👍👍👍👍👍
👏👏👍
Why do i have the feeling that this is faster than the 40yo manual mill I use?
👏👍👏
My name is Barry and i am Flash ;)
Obviously when you set up ACM and enter in your allowable overrides, you're not going to do that blind. You have to prove out the recipes for your tool and know what you can get away with in whatever material you're cutting, how rigid your workholding is, etc.
If you have all that information when programming the part though, why wouldn't you just program it with those speeds and feeds to begin with? Is there something more advanced going on with the torque monitoring that may not be obvious? As far as I can tell, it seems like it's just looking for low torque situations and applying up to a 50% feed override during those cuts. How does the machine decide how much override to apply, assuming it isn't a binary choice?
I guess I can see this being useful if you don't want to spend the time taking a couple proof parts and tweaking the program. Gets you to the end result faster with less human involvement.
In my workshop, you will see the lathe of all kinds of parts
Sometimes if you're on second operations, or pre-existing cast parts- for which you have no current model to rest-machine from, this would be incredibly helpful to adapt a program to its highest speed the second run of it through the control.

Cool video and machine🫶
Heller germany is just 3km away from where i'm living :(
👏👏👍
Your eyelashes!
track id?
Yeah, I've asked the same question. Absolutely killer track but sadly Shazam doesn't know it. I hope someone recognizes it or that someone from Titans of CNC reads our comments and asks the editor. UA-cam scans every video for copyrighted music so they have track ID's for any and all music used, they should include this in the description automatically, that would be a veeeery cool feature
Found it! "Full Train - Dreem" is the track
Heidenhain had this 10 or so years ago ,same as Mazak, nothing new just saying.
Why cutting Air? Use rapid ist much faster 😉
👏👏👍
ACM = Active Control Monitoring...Not Contour
It's Adaptive Control and Monitoring. If I said it wrong in the video it was just me tripping over words!
👏👏👍
Active Control Monitoring Not Contour
👏👏👍
Remember back when they ran machines relatable to every day machinist? Now they are just doing demo's on million dollar equipment that maybe 1% of people will ever run.
Yeah, cool ACM feature. Again, for the 90% of the country that uses Fanuc, that doesn't help.
Sorry, just seems you are preaching to the 0.1% these days. Good luck and happy machining
Siemens is big in Europe, fanuc is gross 🤢
I agree. I just feel like, if you put the best of the best machines with some of the most expensive tooling, yeah, you can do great stuff. But that is a huge capital investment.
@@Minerals333
Makino pioneered this feature (a long with several others) on a fanuc control over 2 decades ago.
