Okay, after watching it, I gotta say, I'm really digging these b3313 informationals. I never really thought I'd enjoy the game beyond seeing people blindly react to its weirdness, but these breakdown videos have been really entertaining! Keep them coming lol
I actually like how they make you do bowser before exploring more, having more of a structure is overall good for this. If you can just explore everything from the get go, its easy to just miss a lot. A lot to ask for but if certain parts of the game were locked behind progression (amount of stars) it would actually be a rewarding experience and give you an incentive to collect stars rather than just run around trying to go into doors you havent opened. I love the red stars in this version for that same reason, it feels like when I grab a red star I've really done something and I now have the possibility of seeing something I havent seen before, and thats the exciting part of the mod. Also, keep it up with the informationals. As much as I understand its great to play this game blind, I've played for hours blind I could only find a couple things. These videos make me just want to open the game up and explore more, so thanks!
Nice informative video overall! Don't like spoiling stuff while 1.0 is still in development, but here's a few corrections: - "Unagi's Tunnel" and "Eel Graveyard" are actually two separate areas, basically variants of each other. The former is a revamped version, while tje latter is the old area added back in 0.2. - Lobby A, which is supposed to be the "beta replica" lobby, actually has two versions. One of them (the one from 0.7) is based on the B-Roll showcase, and the other one is based on Shoshinkai (Spaceworld). This mostly shows in the HUD change, and the difference between Courses that are accessed from here.
Oh, also, I dig the sound of "Hall of Ominous Transportations", but it's from one of Greenio's tapes, and I believe her community calls it 4th Floor (one of the 4th Floors :P), so that's what me and Chris canonized, too. Sorry to disappoint.
@@thegreatestroman1651 There are 4 4th floors. This one, the dark one, the one with weird testing objects, and the one in the Genesis basement. None of this is to be confused with floor 4B, a completely different and annoying maze area.
I really hope that in the presumably final version of this hack, that levels accessed through ways other paintings won't send you to the plexal upstairs when you get a star and the plexal lobby when you die.
Very great overview of this romhack's main hub areas. It's a wonder it's more intricate and interconnected than one might realize. Looking forward to more! One area of B3313 that really gets to me with this 0.9 version which can be interesting to explore is the "Hard Mode", the Red Stars and how they introduce new objects, enemies and changes within the romhack. Would love to learn more about it than I already do because it's a little more in depth than 'harder content and it activates at a certain point'.
you forgot something if you go to other areas of just fast travel to castle inside the hud changes it has 4 types of huds B-roll: if you saw like this mario X 00 Shoshinkai: And this one Mario x 0 December 1995: final mario icons but with shoshinkai positions (sorry for my english lol) And e3 1996: the final version with beta mario icons.
I didn't "forget", I just didn't mention it. The HUD changes all across the game. It's usually insignificant. I say "usually" because.. well, look at the description.
@@BikdipOnABus so, to make sure I understand correctly... In Lobby A, the HUD can be different and this signifies some other difference? Perhaps the paintings go somewhere different? Also, looking up at the ceiling while standing on the central sun emblem on the floor will take you to a "star" area... altho I think you need to have at least 10 stars for this to work if I recall correctly
@@Reaktron88 They're two different versions of the same map, more or less. But they all lead to duplicate levels as well (two Snow Sliders, two Lava Bubbles, etc). Water Land is the one with the biggest variation, since one has access to the Bowser's Sub level and one doesn't.
Now that I've played thru a large portion of v0.9, I'm both excited and lukewarm about the full version upcoming -- on the one hand, it'll be cool to see the final vision, but on the other hand, I'm a bit disappointed I didn't get to experience that final version blind firsthand... Also, it's looking like the final version probably WON'T have all that much new / different from v0.9 besides some relatively boilerplate polish, which would suck. Personally, I'd love to see development on B3313 (or similar / sequel titles) NEVER stop, just continual elaboration by an ever-shifting team of devs so that year by year the castle & its worlds move closer & closer to infinity, with endgame elements changing scope & location as well every time so that no rigid path to victory is consistent between iterations. Just sayin ! Easily my favorite ROM hack project thus far, right up there with the SMW hack "New Super Mario World 2: Around The World", which is God-Tier in itself
@@BikdipOnABus OH MY GOSH , what a legacy dude, you outlived them by the way, they stopped making videos like 5 years ago.. Edit: I watched the retsupurae video again and you are literally in the comments.... so no it wasn't supposed to be a secret lol
Kinda threw me off a little you needed a red star to start fully exploring the place Since if i recall right i think previous versions i believe they had a set star count for when the player allowed to see certain events there
How can i make the daytime/nighttime thing (i have the recent version, the unabandoned version [1.0]) my game only works on daytime, not nighttime and i play on 9:00 pm
I haven't played the unabandoned version and can't really help with that. I guess just make sure you're using the emulator and settings that they recommend for that version.
I really like the info I wish one german youtuber called huebschrauber can make a lets play like it would be A. very long B. really crazy and nice to watch
I noticed that in the Red Castle, past what I called "Mystical Purple Castle" (through the left pipe in the ominous hall) is a toad that will give you something if it is night time. Are there any other time specific moments in the game? I noticed that the ? Painting gave me a nightmare at night but in day took me to a peaceful field.
That's the only tine specific star that I can remember. Stuff like that was being added right before it was released, so it isn't that fleshed out yet. The ? painting has a few destinations, which are all totally random. I don't think time of day impacts it.

Farm this game for engagement as much as you can, you’ve put in enough work on learning the game to earn it Jish
There are more lobbies, but these four are the ones you will frequent most often.
The night here affects a bunch of things, especially the fact that you can only go to the final bowser at night

I’d call it 0.9 version instead of “abandoned”. I feel like it fits a lot better since it was announced it’d be finished.
is that still true? only asking because all the downloads mention it being abandoned

What is the purpose of that musical chime that plays on some doors when you go through them?
probably just to confuse you
It plays when you go to the second floor or courtyard in a normal lobby after it changes
why in my version yoshi is not outside the cave in day time?
10:23 how do you speed up the game THAT fast? i only get to like 2x or 3x the speed but you were at like 15x speed!
I just hit F4 to turn off the frame limiter. The actual speed it runs at is probably dependent on computer specs, I don't really know.
Thanks for the content!
