HI STEPH
Hi
Hi
hii
I never even knew about this :0
honestly i don't blame your mom for being so upset about the losing taste thing. for someone who loves food so much i can't imagine how upsetting that must be i'm sorry she's going through that :(
It’s more serious than what people think. I had that before and I would cry everyday. 😢
My sister lost her taste and smell because of Covid in 2020, and she hasn't got it back yet. Things taste rotten, and she can't smell anything. It's so dangerous because she can't smell smoke, gas.. she forgets food is in the oven because she can't smell it.. she can't smell if her teenager smells like cigarettes or alcohol etc. She doesn't know if SHE smells, and she loves good smells and perfume.. it was a huge interest for her to buy perfumes, but not anymore.
@@kykkelikokos I had a weird version where things that smelled nice smelled weird and bad things like car smoke or gas smelled nice, or wildly different things smelled the same, my smell and taste have come back and I hope your sisters does as well
scents are linked to memories too, like the smell of an old book or your moms parfume or fresh linen... It is such a significant factor when it comes to emotions... @@kykkelikokos
I don’t blame her I lost complete taste and smell dec. 2020 as I started to detect taste the following late February it was parosmia I only just started seeing improvement this year in may june. I had tried everything ent specialist have had mri and seen an allergist. My biggest improvements came a couple weeks after being put on levocitrizine and azelastine. I have turbinate hypertrophy and even though I’m continually seeing improvements in detecting scents and most things have lost the rotting carcass smell/taste nothing has stopped the swelling. My ent is speculating that I am having some sort of histamine response we just can’t locate the source I am off the levocitrizine pills now but still use the azelastine nasal spray while continuing seeing improvements no matter how slow it is till I detect another note of scent. I had tried both nazacort, fluconaze, saline wash’s, Zyrtec and clairtain with zero improvements. So if anyone is going through anosmia or parosmia might want to talk to a Dr and see if azelastine nasal spray helps improve yours like it did mine.
stephanie is the type of person to just pull out something like lelo and just go straight back to the serious stuff. love her for being so real
@lawnmowercum it's the sponsor
That sponsorship was smooth lol😂 I swear Stephanie is the only person where I actually watch sponsorships
I can always tell when she is about to talk about a sponsor
Same
I don't think they were trying to be rude just concerned 🩷
Fr huh lol her sponsorships be interesting ❤😂
Frrrr
i love how stephanie does unhinged things and mr mango just does it with her no questions asked 😭😭
My nephew was straight up orange when he switched from boob to spoon. It took us forever to realize he preferred carrots, yellow squash, all of the orange-ish baby foods. So she basically fed him until he turned into an Oompah Loompa.
Omg, your comment made me laugh so much!!!
I needed that laugh. You have no idea how much I need it right now.
I will stop here so this doesn't become creepy, but thank you. 😂😂😂😊
Oompa Loompa 😂😂😂😂
boob to spoon is KILLING ME
LMAOOOO AWE!! hilarious and adorable, I’m sure the color really fit him 😂
im still trying to work out how my youngest son didnt experience the same thing!! his diet was the same and i was always freaking out that one day he would wake up with an orange glow!!!!!
So the real question is: Stephanie, are you going to reduce your carrot intake, or will you just tell everyone you’re Steve Jobs?
It’s so adorable hearing them refer to each other as husband and wife!
Right
Ive worked in pediatrics for 16 years and often see orange 9 month olds!! Like little oompah loopas. They love carrots and sweet potatoes 😂 im so glad that you are not having any health problems. Im 40 btw, and feel very welcomed. You are a truly gifter storyteller. Thank you for sharing your gift.
I was thinking an autoimmune disorder. I know a lot of people with autoimmune disorders including myself and you can find very interesting things. I never would've thought about diet even though I've heard of the phenomenon. Oompah loompas in diapers sounds adorable. Is that dangerous? Too much carotene?
I totally expected my kids to turn orange. carrots and sweet potatoes are always the beginning foods 😂
I took my son to the Dr when he was 1 because his hands & feet were orange. His Dr laughed and said stop feeding him orange food for a while. It eventually went away. He is 26 yrs old now and is still obsessed with carrots, sweet potatoes and squash; his hands and feet are orange.
Same here. I’m old enough to be Stephanie’s (other) mum and I looooove listening to her storytelling + her genuine empathy and choices of sponsors (including today’s 😂)
She can be serious when needed but generally a happy soul with a hint of totally unhinged every now and then and I love it!
I've always wondered about the color of your palms, but I don't think I'm the type of person to ask somebody why their body is the way it is 😂
Same. 😂
I get you I mean when I saw all those comments pointing out her hands I was like man has your mother ever told you if you have nothing nice to say don’t say anything at all 😂
Me too...I thought about being caused by too many carrots, squash and peppers (as I read somewhere that this foods with carotene can do this and some people used it to look more tanned)
same, i honestly assumed it was on purpose
@@mochipjamas I was gonna reply to that “same” so since you already got that one, I’ll just say ditto. 😂
Is it appropiate to say... That she was caught red handed?
when i tell u my jaw dropped lower then my grades…
I’m sure you’re relieved, because if you know what’s wrong there is probably a solution, and you’ll stop wondering why. Hope you the best never the less!
Its just carrots lol, not a problem
@@euneiroseven if it’s just carrots, it’s probably better than thinking she has liver problems.
The wondering why is where all the worry comes from. I thought I was dying once. The answer wasn't nice, but I wasn't dying, so. Dying didn't align with my goals, so I was relieved.
I’m 82 and I love watching you. You are so talented.
Hey Stephanie ! I just wanted to share my boyfriend’s experience or rather his grandma’s relationship with food as she got older. We actually talked about something very similar to what Omma is going through. His grandma used to love traditional Mexican food her whole life. Once she got older (I want to say around 70-80) she started to need a stronger flavor in her food to satisfy her taste. She LOVED spicy food and would eat extra hot hot Cheetos and even kicked up her salsa to be spicier to satisfy her palate. We believe that as you get older, you crave more flavorful foods that you’re not generally used to because it’s new to your palate. Though I don’t know if this is true (I’m just a 21yr old psych student that works for sbux LOL), it made sense to us and as long as she loved her food, we were happy (:
Hope this puts your mind at ease ! I also hope this comment made sense hahah. I’m so sorry if it didn’t ): also I love you guys and ALL of your videos !
it makes so much sense! especially because your taste buds can change so dramatically as you age! my friends’s mom’s taste buds have caused her to be sensitive to taste so she like blander food
you lose taste receptors, and begin to taste less good. it's normal!!
just like my grandma. her drinks are always very sweet when she make them. i believe her taste receptors became weaker as she gets older.
It's because as you age your taste buds are dying, so you don't have as many. It's perfectly normal!
Hi Stephanie.. I’m a 53yr old woman AND I love your podcasts! Watch them ALL the time! I love you all then entire Mango Booty Family ❤ Commenting on Uma’s condition, maybe she should have her Thyroid checked! I went through the same thing where everything tasted like cardboard n It was my thyroid! I had to have mine removed! I pray she finds out what it is and it’s remedied ASAP! Love love love you all Don’t ever change🫶🏽
you can remove your thyroid without having any problems??
@@annnnxh yes ! So far it’s the best decision I’ve made ! The thyroid struggle is horrible! It completely changes you😣
@@annnnxhyou have to take some hormone replacement I think but maybe not as much when you’re an older woman? I’m not sure!
I saw the title and I was like “Stephanie!!! There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with you” and that still stands but lemme continue watching till the end
My dad is 67 and he doesn't feel the urge to eat anything. He used to be a foodie too and I think I'd say that it comes and goes but the "not wanting to eat anything or not excited to eat anything " lingers longer lol. Please comfort her by saying that it's normal in their age ❤
That is NOT comforting! Omma needs to try foods that she hasn't tasted before, and maybe they will register better.
I understand steph’s mom’s emotional reaction. My grandma and I were eating dinner once but she was looking so blank. I asked her what’s wrong? She says there’s no outlet of joy. every aspect of life that gave her joy- eating tasty food, smelling fresh air, seeing the horizon, etc- she’s losing them all. Taste especially was an emotional one. Eating is one of the fastest factor of instant gratification… imagine not being able to have that anymore. It’s scary, sad, and frustrating.
Not only the food aspect but also the social aspect. A lot of eating has to die with socialization. U eat brunch with friends and u have dinner with family/on romantic dates. Food is so important especially in Korean culture. It’s honestly so upsetting. And also accepting the reality of aging- it’s not easy to do.
It's sooo psychologically taxing and I wish it was talked about more.
This is my first video of this channel of Stephanie's. I came from only Rotten Mango. I can't tell you what a relief and joy it is to see her so happy. All of the stuff she and her team cover must weigh heavily on their mental health. I'm glad she still has joy in her life (I know that sounds kinda weird)
food is the biggest source of happiness for me. forget tearing up, i would 100% sob uncontrollably everyday if food especially my favorite ones don't taste good anymore. i hope she's able to enjoy food again😢 it's honestly so heartbreaking i'm getting emotional rn
I am 46 and am here. I just discover steph from my daughter last month and your vlog is part of my morning since.
Aging and health is a constant concern at this point of my life and i gracefully accepting it. I stop dyeing my hair from last 2 year and i am loving my silver hair. Two things, just two thing for all types shape age and form of us. Stop eating excessive sugar and have a form of exercise every day. This will make you love yourself a little bit everyday. More power to mr and mrs mangobutts
I stopped dyeing my hair also. I've gotten so many compliments on my hair. Even the hair stylists say do you know how much people pay to get their hair to look like that? $100-$200 And God gave it to me for free.
I had told my Grandma in her 80's one time that she had the most beautiful hair in the whole wide world. She started crying. My parents rushed in the room and ushered me out and said WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER? I said I didn't do anything to her. Then she told them.
Whewww... that was a close one. lol
I love that in the Would You Rather bit, MMB is genuinely asking Stephanie if another guy is able to like her the way MMB likes (read: loves) her because in his brain he will always be the person who likes her the most *cries in single* /pc
Your mom made me think of of my dad. We found out that his lack of taste and foods tasting metallic/salty was due to his meds. He had open heart surgery 5yrs ago and he's 66. Ever since he's gotten so upset, yelled, cried, and had full break downs since everything tasted bad to him. Reminds you of how people had issues if they had covid. But his started in 2018 well before. I hope she figures out what's wrong and is able to enjoy food again.
I'm 54 and I love watching you guys, all 3 channels. I binge watch you 😂
My taste buds haven't changed yet, hope your mom gets to enjoy her food once again.
Really, people are too judgmental. As long as you and your doctor are good with your health, it is none of anyone else's concern. You are absolutely stunning, Stephanie!
Stephsoo my girl I almost didn't want to watch this because of the title. There is nothing wrong with you or your body queen. Stay being you or idk keep growing and be the best you can be when you can be. Just know you've got so many people out here that love you and your content and it's not for no reason. You've got serious talent and I'm glad I found you on accident a few years back. 🥰🥰🥰
I scanned through the video so fast to find out why Omna was crying. Don't DO ME LIKE THAT, STEPHANIE
The videos are so happy and good vibes. I can't stop chuckling and smiling while doing a marathon on your videos. Thank you so much. ☺️🥰🤍
If it ends up not being the carrots, it could be a mild autoimmune response. A quick check in with a rheumatologist might help. I have these symptoms too. Let's hope you're just deeply in your 'carrot era' and all is good though lol. Good luck!
Funny cause I have lupus and a lot of complications like Raynauds and Sjörns. My hands loose the pink color or turn purple when Im cold.
Yeah when you go to a specialist they ask a lot of questions that might look inocuos or weird (sleep schedule, mood?, stomach issues?) and then BAM !! Autoinmune disease 😂😂😂
This is great advice, I have 2 autoinmune diseases, and they are no joke.
As someone pointed out, the doctor may ask you weird, unrelated questions, but they know their stuff.
In any case, it is always good to do a background check on the doctor, just to have peace of mind because you never know.
yeah thyroid issues causes orange hands too
@@SaintShion ayeeee! I have Lupus and Raynauds (and Sjorns at one point too). And my hands turn ghostly and I mean literally no more blood ghostly pale when my hands are super cold. Same with my toes unfortunately. It sucks like hell. But Steph could have Lupus type rashes too.
I think I was in desperate need of a cry, so the moment I saw Steph and Omma crying, I just burst into tears... I really hope you guys find a solution to the food thing ❤
I have a solution. A magical herb called ✨cannibas✨
I hope you’re okay Stephanie, you’re a ray of sunshine
17:26 Hi! 49 year old who loves listening to your videos to fall asleep and watching your vlogs while awake. I love how fun and wholesome ya'll are. :)
My partner asked me about your hands too, I told him it might be the weather. I didn't comment asking about this because I thought it is rude to ask people about their body, also sometimes it takes a sad or weird turn. I mean I knew you'd update us if it is anything you're comfortable talking about.
the hello kitty socks omg I am crying, how cute!!🥺
I’m happy that you can be at peace knowing what causes your orange/red hands😭
I use to assume it was from cooking. I know one mukbang it’s was red and purple rice balls. I assumed it was the food coloring 😅
I assumed she make kimchi without using gloves
some comment said redness is from hot cheetos💀
Omg I was wondering why your hands were red/orange. Im glad you are fine, I wouldn’t care if your hands were yellow. Black lol as long as you are healthy because I ❤ listening to you!!!
she was at peace until she saw everyones unnecessary comments😅
I learned about this carrot thingy during dental school + I remember one House MD episode with that issue.
I feel bad for your mom 💔 I can’t imagine losing the taste of food when you’re a foodie 😭
Omg you and your mom both crying over her losing her taste is so wholesome and cute 🥹
My best friend's son's forehead turned orange when he was a baby because of beta keratine. Don't worry about it tbh this whole time I just thought it was the color profile of your camera or an artifact of editing or something. I'm glad you figured it out and it's not your liver, though ♥
Hi Stephanie, I'm glad you figured out the cause for your red hands, it reminded me of the That's So Raven episode where Chelsea turned orange from drinking so much carrot juice. For Eomma, my mom experienced loss of taste, smell, and appetite a few years ago (she's in her 60s) and the doctors couldn't figure out the cause. She was losing weight and the closest they got to a possible explanation is that it might have been an early result of covid before the pandemic and it was only over the last year that some of her taste and appetite came back. I don't want to create a scare, just share my mom's experience; there were other symptoms but we found out she had a tumor and she's doing alright now. Alongside just getting older, it took some time but her appetite is fairly good and she regained some weight but dishes with stronger flavors definitely hit better. I'm glad Eomma was able to enjoy the spicy meal and I hope her appetite comes roaring back, the best wishes to her.
Having someone like stephiance in your life seems so fun tbh i really hope i could meet you guys someday ur literally the best ..lotsoflovesss💛💛
Stephanie why are you trying to kill mr Mango with these questions at the end
😂
My mom who is in her early 60s has definitely started to lose her taste. We first started to notice when she started to over salt everything! We have to now taste test when she cooks savory foods so she doesn't kill us haha
I just noticed that the video editing is way more bangin and different to what I see in ur other videos. Well done to ur editors, it takes a long time to put in sound effects and animations!! Excited to see what is more to come with your videos
Finding out Kennedy and Stephanie are friends has made my day❤
I’m sorry you have to deal with the negativity when you’re videos always bring positivity to others ❤️
I don't think people are being negative they are probably genuinely concerned, curious why her hands are orange, red like that..
@@Alaska2446same i didn't Think to much of it but my sister walks by while i watch Stephanie she asks why is her hand orange i am like idk
That also happens to me all the time! My feet and hands are the most affected lol
I don’t think people were being negative..? I mean some people might have been rude about it but I think they were just genuinely curious. There’s nothing wrong with that
@@Alaska2446 I actually have wondered but I never would’ve asked. But different people different ways. I’m only five minutes 50 seconds so I don’t know the reason yet. I just assumed it was some thing that she cooks or eats with. She seems healthy. I hope that’s the case.
I'm going to be 40 in December. You're definitely younger than me by a lot, BUT, you're so fun! I'm a criminology and Criminal Justice student and things get too heavy all the time. Sometimes I just need to laugh at your troupe of 20 somethings living their best lives! Plus, I'm so busy, Baking a Mystery gives me cliff notes for novels I want to read!😂
You have been posting a lot lately, be safe and stay healthy Stephanie ❤
Hey Steph, my mom had the same issue a few years back. She started taking vitamins and most importantly Calcium Magnesium vitamins. It helped tremendously, definitely look into it. Best of luck. And it's great that you finally know, we were concerned. ❤
Yup I'd say look into Trace Minerals in tincture form and take some every day. Too many of us are mineral deficient, hence all of these increasing number in health issues
reading the title and just hoping you’re okay biss!! literally my fav youtuber and person ever
My dad is in his 60s and a few days ago I made some food that was really salty. I kept asking him if it was too salty (because he used to always complain about salt and spices), he kept saying “oh nooo, it tastes perfect”. All my siblings said it was salty except my dad. So I think it’s an age thing.
I probably have to ask him more to confirm his range of taste and so on but i hope this helps to alleviate some of eomma’s fears.
Love your videos Stephanie ❤

True, my aunt's mother-in-law eats Mexican level SPICY for every meal. Now, I'm a Mexican but even for us there's a level which is SPICY. Most of us still eat it but we're in pain 😂 she's a savage, I believe she's in her late 60s
That's menopause
Me too in menopause and wow coffee gives me headaches and I always liked spicy food but like soicy for European person spicy lol now Mexican spicy level
I like things spicier now too. But I had red hands last night!

I'm in my early 60s and no it hasn't happened to me but thankfully i haven't had covid or a severe cold. It did happen to my Mom back in the day after she had a longterm cold after a trip to Alaska. I do hope your Mom's taste does come back and she can once again enjoy her food 🥰
i started watching kennedy like three years ago, and last year i found stephanie’s channel, and now when i know that they are friends makes my mind blow and feel like i live in a crossover
This really reminded me of when a viewer emailed Tarek and Christina of the “Flip or Flop” home show on tv, because she was an oncology nurse of many years and noticed Tarek had the trademark lump of thyroid cancer visible in his neck on the show. The fan was correct, and most likely saved his life. I’m SO GLAD it was nothing for you Steph but I’m also so glad you got it checked out ❤

Aye, fellow carrots and red bell peppers fan here! I also had the same health scare 😂 Don't worry Stephanie, my feet are completely orange. You're not alone 🤭
P.S: The ju sha zhang bit killed me! I will never be able to look at my hands the same way anymore 😂
my grandmas on both sides of the family are/have gone through the same thing as omma !! they’ve both been needing stronger flavors as they get older and it gets difficult to eat the food they make sometimes because they use way too much salt 😭 my family believes it’s just something that happens as you grow older !!
17:33 My grandma got Covid and cannot smell anything anymore, this was in 2022. She may not have Covid now but if she did at any point it could be the issue with her taste. Yes, getting older can affect the taste but it happens with a lot of older people that had Covid at some point. I hope things have gotten better for your Mom ❤
Thank goodness your ok! The queen is always slaying ⭐
gosh i always asked myself while watching stephanies videos if she paints her hands before filming (to make more impact on the tomic she is discussing or smt?) AND FINALLY OMG I GOT AN ANSWER
Girl you are literally so gorgeous plz ignore those comments People always find something to complain about you can't please everyone! We all love you!!
Right!? Stephanie is EASILY in the top ten prettiest girls I’ve ever seen. Not just because she’s PHYSICALLY gorgeous, but her soul is beautiful as well. Kind, funny, respectful, insightful, and sensitive - she survives the roughest parts of life, yet refuses to be jaded in such a way as to be callous, and that takes true strength.
Why are you assuming that pointing out orange hands means she's ugly? Do YOU think people who have color on their hands is ugly? Why are you assuming that's an insult? When you assume the public is going to think she's ugly because she has orange hands, it's exposing you as the person who thinks she's ugly because why would that be your assumption otherwise?
I’m so sorry you have to deal with comments like this. I’m glad you talked to doctors… I’m barely starting but the audacity! I’m glad people care but that’s so scary to have to worry.
When I was a baby my mom told me I was obsessed with sweet potatoes so much that I did turn orange, and yes, I was taken to the dr, and they told me it was cuz of that. So thankfully you are ok!
I just went through the taste deficiencies. I could only taste extreme flavors. I did taste challenges for @6 months. Spicy, sour, etc. This happened after Covid in January. I’m 50. I have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism 2 months ago as well . My taste is starting to improve. My mom however has been suffering from the taste problem for @1 year after Covid. My other friend @3 years. I hope your, Mom finds foods to enjoy 🙏🏽🌹

Hello, I am 59 and love your videos. I have had l- long COVID for over 2 years. It has affected my taste. I feel for your mom, I also get scared that I can't taste some foods at different times and so I don't eat. Get her vitamins. I eat a lot of oatmeal.

My grandma is in her 70s and in her mid to late 60s her taste buds started to change so crazy, her cooking isn’t the same anymore because of it. But it is true you lose a lot of your taste buds the older you get which sucks :// especially when you love love love food. Awe I feel for your mom, I love food more then anything, food is how I pick where I’ll travel to. Food always takes me to a happy place. I think I’d turn into the saddest person on earth if I wasn’t able to taste my favorite foods or taste new foods.
Stephanie translating and also bawling was precious as fuck
I always wondered why Stephanie’s hands were orange. Mystery solved.
“or would you rather him take my hands and put it on his bare abs” WAS SO ABRUBT AND OUT IF PLACE I BUSTED OUT LAUGHING
Just ignore them Stephanie! Love your content and pls make more content! It brings me so much joy to watch you. ❤❤❤
I had covid and lost all taste for a year. Recently I’ve gotten it all back but meat and all types of food tastes rotten. It’s actually so horrible. So I absolutely understand your moms pain Stephanie, even if it’s from age. It’s really upsetting and I miss all of it. I’ve just had to get used to the taste. My appetite is horrible because of it, but I just have to go with it. Also, mostly all the food I used to love is stuff I can never taste but new stuff just has that bitter disgusting weird flavor I can’t seem to get out of my mouth. But yeah maybe she does have it from covid or maybe not.
OMG that happened to me around my birthday in November. I got covid for the first time and lost my taste buds BUT now 3 months later I still have this horrible cough & congestion and certain foods that I love taste sour. Like I can't taste the food itself, it just tastes like it has gone sour like rotten milk in the fridge 🤢.
And I LOVE food, cooking has always been my number one passion so lately it's been very difficult for me to enjoy certain foods that I used to love. 😔
Glad you found out that it was not a serious health issue. Hope you have found relief ❤
Legend has it stephanie has since been roped in to market Carrots and even put out her own brand of the said orangey vegetable
i think what eomma’s experiencing is something that comes naturally with aging.
i remember my mom would often take over the kitchen whenever my grandma’s about to season the food she’s cooking cuz if she doesn’t then our food would be too salty 😬 mind you my grandma makes the best meals back then but lately her taste buds have been failing her :(
sending comforts for eomma from a co-foodie! 🥹
stephanieee im so glad you figured out what's going on. I LOVE YOU
Constant support from meeee
Relevant trivia: if you get fresh milk from a grass-fed cow that hasn't been pasteurized or homogenized, it will be very faintly yellow. Turning it into butter or cheese will result in the yellow intensifying, because you're removing water in either process. But where that color comes from? Cattle can't fully digest beta carotene, so it tints the milk.
Sheep and goats, on the other hand, fully digest beta carotene, so their milk and the stuff made from it is naturally pure white.
to us south african fans that watch stephanie even when it’s midnight🤭
thought i was the only one 😭
I'm here too😂❤

We're all here huh😭😭

My mom turns 65 in 2 weeks and altho she has diabetes and some other medical issues, she often says food is bland and boring and doesn't like it anymore. She briefly lost her appetite bc she had some gallbladder problems but after her surgery, even if her appetite came back she keeps complaining about how weird everything tastes and how it's "not the same anymore". So i completely get your mom!!!
Also the carrot thing, I noticed your hands as well but when I was a teen I used to watch this youtuber lady that ate a TON of them and also had orange hands so I assumed it was that 😭😭😭 Im glad it's just this and not something bad!!!! Love youuu
I just started watching you recently and have been wondering this about your hands as well. Then I watched some other random video (it might have been something about NewJeans) and they mentioned eating too much of certain foods can cause this issue. So, it is good to know that is your case as well! And I feel bad for your mom...I hope her taste can come back soon!
The Rock's head just just casusally floating sideways off left of frame. 😆 😂
happy you posted! hope you’re doing okay 💕
