I don’t see why he fought with the cops in the first place. He was suspected for leaving the scene of an accident, the cops sought to question him, he got defensive and aggressive, the cops restrained him with standard procedure practices. While yes, they certainly should be aware of his wellbeing, a cop is likely not gonna loosen his restraint on you when you attempt to evade both in your car then on foot when they find you later.

The video is edited. Just as the camera goes around the officer in the foreground you can see the other officer’s knee is on the black man’s neck not his back. This is also when the black man’s speech becomes garbled and then stops obviously from pressure on his neck. Just as the camera sees the knee on the neck the video is edited and then you see the knee over the black man’s back. I have no idea how long the knee was pressing on the man’s neck as time has been obviously removed. The police were way too slow to react to his sudden quietness, can’t believe you wouldn’t check his pulse or breathing, but I think this man was on borrowed time anyway and this struggle just sped up a natural death.
