Too right mate, it's the wallys who keep the big females etc and bugger the whole thing up. Some of those big monsters can be quite old. I once came across one whilst out hiking, it mush have been wandering along a shallow creek, maybe 1ft deep and i was walking up the creek, it went into a rock pool eroded into the sandstone creek bed, OMG, it was the biggest monster I've ever seen, like the body was bigger than my upper arm and huge claws, it would have been Childs play to take it, just reach down in a mere 12" of water, for a feast LOL but we let it be.
Hey mate thats awesome. On average it takes 9 to 10 years for them to grow to legal size. 10 years to grow, 10 seconds to eat. I would rather enjoy catching them, then releas them and but some seafood from the fish'n'chip shop on my way home.
The big ones i see in nsw are up there with the big Tasmanian ones .. I dont eat them because they deserve to live out their lives , I just love looking at them . Keep the vids coming Robbie
