1:19 that paintjob on the Tavelo is gorgeous !!!
The Java stuff looks the most interesting to me. I'd definitely like to see more coverage on mid-tier equipment that's on the affordable side.
I had to go look at the Java frames after hearing the price !
£1,284.00GBP for full bike with 105
Yeah, I have a soft spot for the super affordable stuff... it just all comes down to their distribution model.
@@ChinaCycling I am sure that if you can get these and sell them at this price they would sell.
The Chinese manufacturers seems to be way more creative than their western and Taiwanese counterparts. Some risky paint jobs but NOT boring.
What do you mean creative. Everything in that show was copied from western brands. Drop seat-stays, aero frames, waved rims, grouped spokes…I could go on and on. New doesn’t mean creative.
China number one!
By this logic, every "western" brand copied an "eastern" brand. GIANT invented compact road bike geometry that every western brand uses now...
@@ChinaCycling that's true about giant but I'm sure I read that giant was inspired by the lower seat tube that was seen in bmx frames at that time. Some newer frames have partially gone back to a horizontal top tube of old days whilst retaining the compact angles.
@@realmagnetics799 Innovative or inventive' that's not what comes to mind with Chinese bike/parts manufacturers and a lot of new comers into the modern bicycle manufacturing. It's very hard to be ground breaking in what is essentially just a basic transport machine that's been around for so long. I think they are trying to be creative, to try new materials or ways to better existing designs but I'm seeing only alternatives with sometimes lower price tags but uncertainty over longevity hangs heavy in my mind.
Tavelo is definitely doing things right, would love to see them become more popular as a result of PP
Wow your voice held up the $300 Java bike man they will; sell like hot cakes thank you for another exciting video Joe.
The best thing is YOU mate. You’re doing a great job. Keep the great content coming 👍👍
Thanks for watching! :)
I bought my first chinese bike frame in 2009, it was a bmc copy, i was happy with it back then and the quality and carbon expertise in that part of the world has only moved forward since.
Love it. Wicked show man. Thanks for covering it all in almost real time 🤜🤛
It's not easy, but it is fun.
Ha! Great work today. I especially love how you ended the video- “Oh shit!” Priceless
I don't wanna sound like a crybaby, but it's exhausting. By the third day, your brain is toast.
thank you for the usual great content! Love my Pertual Sharp 6270 wheels. I use them on my time trial bike. stiff, great inertia and momentum, and good looking aesthetics
That's good to hear!
Great Video with interesting things!and The Java Aluminium frames looks great. Thank you for the content!
Thanks for watching! :D
OMG, those tavelo paintjobs are amazing.
Pretty funky.
love your superfly shades
All that good stuff !
Love it mate
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice Glasses Joe! Very stylish & great video content again!!
Haha, Thanks. Credit to Pit Viper for the cool glasses...
The paint jobs on the Tavelo frames are awesome.
2:00 OMFG whats is this piece of art! Crazy looking red and gold paint job, thats definitely the one I would pick if I could afford it lol, talking about affordability those Java bikes are perfect 😍
Something for every budget...
More great coverage; thanks Joe! Those affordabe alloy frames/bikes by *_Java_* look very interesting. Hopefully they, or someone else, will bring similar options in the USA.
Yup, I think you'll see Java, Sava etc pushing into the west soon.
Awesome show & thanx, its candyland...also looks like theres gonna be a HUGE shakeup to the current bike market, look out Giant,Specialized, mavic & many others..bought 2 sets of LTwoo & so far its awesome, now waiting for rim version
Fingers crossed!
Another great vid. But Joe your sunglasses are wild tho 😂
Lots of comments about my shades, lol. Pit Viper need to hook me up...
That Alu Java sprint frame looks dope. Do they do frame only?
NIce camerawork on the Java stand............someone had to mention it!
Campy pioneered the 2:1 spoke arrangement years ago... and spinoff Fulcrum. Is a good design.
i like the Java bike ,looks like a great starter bike , or even a good training bike
I like those Aura frames -- hydroformed aluminum, I presume? Anchor (Bridgestone) did a primitive version of this for cromoly tubes, and allowed for built-in lugs that gave very strong silver-brazed joints. Their RCN-7 frame was the last one to do this, IIRC.
Some great paintjobs there! I wonder whjy there don't seem to be many endurance geometry frames being presented?
Because they're ugly
$2500 bike frames?? Theres a Trek store down the street...
Great video.
Exactly
It's more for the domestic pride of ownership.
great answer.
I'll take the classy red tavelo 😊
Nice hunting goggles bro!
I would like to see a dark paint scheme with the Tavelo with a pinstripe logo in silver like that one light frame has.
I need a pink Tavelo Arrow 😮
Me too!
That Trident wheel looks like it was designed by H.R. Geiger.
The leading edge bumps are inspired by the leading edge of whale fins, and supposedly reduce turbulence. They do for whales, anyway...
@@ericpmoss I don't think it works for wheels (rotation). Hence Ganna hour record bike having them - wheels not.
The Pertual concept wheels are so cool! I don’t care for the hub design in how it hampers servicing, but the rim shape, spoke pattern and count are incredible!
+1 on this! Really cool concept
Instead I find them just quite ugly, I like my wheels to be just round😅, but with very brave design choices there will always be diverging opinions
Interested to see how the final thing turns out...
I’m interested in a Tavelo Arrow
Pertual concept wheel: if Salvador Dali was a wheel designer.
I had to Google that one... haha. Accurate though.
rips help the airflow to stay attached. In future we will see those a lot on frames too. but for now its hard to manufacture
"I do like my pink."
;) ;)
Great video! Where do I get those sick shades you’re rocking?
Hey Mark - Check out Pit Viper's website.
Your mouth is on speed X2😮
Too much to see, can't waste time. Haha.
How to get some of those shoes? Googled and can’t find them! 🎉
The rib-like bits on the Pertual Trident spokes are inspired by the leading edge of whate fins. The claim is they cut turbulence and reduce overall drag. Well, they do for whales, at least...
That burgandy is nice. I am leaning torward the Seka though.
Choices, choices...
That Java alloy bike looks great! I’m still using my cannondale CAAD 10 for racing but if it rides half as good as it looks then I’d be interested in getting a frame set
Yup, My CAAD10 and my Allez Sprint are still 2 of my fav bikes
Java alloy bikes are quite heavy and uncomfortable. They are not high-performance bikes but are aimed at beginners who wants a cool-looking aero road bike. They are nowhere comparable to Cannondale or Specialized alloy frames, even the caad12 from 8 years ago is still better. Giant contend and scr are bikes with more similar performance
These brands really need to get rid of the huge branding on the down tube.
Rear gravel suspension frames. I saw one in the chinertown forums. Can You look for that in the show?
I have one in for review... will be on the channel later
Tavero in Purple/Green
Joe can we sometime get a story of what happened to your relationship with winspace? i got the slc 2.0 rim mainly because of you and hambini. I'm sad you aren't covering them anymore.
One day... one day....
When will the new Tavelo aero frame be available on Pandapodium? What is its tire clearance? Thanks
32mm, coming before the end of the month!
Nice tech. Great video. What's the website for the shoes? Interested in the lace up model.
www.zuatu.com/en/
@ChinaCycling there are only 2 models on their page. Happy to see them making narrow shoes... definitely keen for narrow lace ups!
Would love to know if wheeltop is there and your thoughts
They were there, nothing new since Taipei so didnt cover them...
so the trend for wheel is now all wavy and jaggered. and for new bike frame brand, throw in all flashy paint job.
If domestic market swallows up most of ltwoo's supply, could this be the reason why their new 2024 mechanical road brifters are not on sale, i.e. on aliexpress? I saw only the 7-speed R2 brifters on offer.
Probably!
Want to know more about Lykos, looks nice and good weight
They're working on the western distribution
1:10 "Anything but ordinary".
Any chance a person outside the Chinese market could find out more and purchase the Pertual Triathlon wheel combo?
Send us a message on the site (Panda Podium) will be coming soon...
Tbe psint jobs are the only thing that sparked my interest.
hi, like your socks, where can we buy these socks
Hey china cycling! Tavelo makes rim brake wheels but no rim brake frame?
Correct. Rim brakes are dying out so fast...
The Elves bike is a Tribike it can't get UCI approved a still looks good
Are most of the wheels at the show hooked or hookless?
Hooked. Like, 95%...
How come no details or specs on the Tavelo arrow frame?
Specs are on our website. It was a long day, and I blanked.
hey! any carbon handlebar you recommend from taobao?
EXS, Avians and Farsports are all reliable enough for me to sell on panda podium.
Thanks man , I live in shenzhen you shoud come and ride with us! @@ChinaCycling
Tavelo reminds me of Caledonia 5
The Chinese bike industry is definately maturing in that they now have credible (and beautiful) high and low end bikes. But, what puzzles me is that their aren't any Chinese tire brands (tubeless or otherwise) to speak of (at least being marketed to the US or Europe). Why?
CST or Chen Shin tyres are Chinese i believe and perhaps Kenda.
they dont have a lot margin to sponsor the world tour team
Yeah.. I'd love some good value tires. If we're talking "Asian tires" MAXXIS are pretty good...
They are all Taiwanese bland
For the shoes can someone tell me pls the www address?
Does anyone the brand/model of the seatpost bag that is attached to the JAVA bike at 9:30 ?
The woman on the booth said it was their own model...
Thank you! It looks neat, hopefully they'll release it in the future.
bafang and dengfu booths please
E-stuff? No please.
No winspace products?
tavelo is a spin-off from winspace
No winspace at this big expo???😐
don't worry they are in this expo
What does tavelo mean? Should call it Sirvelo
I thought it meant "your bike" - could be wrong though.....
don't forget about people with wide feet. hope those shoe will be available monster feet with six toes
Whats the point for the chinese to bring up products at the same price as western brands?
The pertual tri wheel isn't unique at all, general shape is basically a princeton trispoke
Do tavelo actually do any real development or are they just selling rebranded open mold frames like winspace? Because both tavelo frames were on the adapt website, the attack is gone now but the arow is still up there. So who actually developed that bike?
shoes look nice, but buying a shoe before trying it is a fool's errand
They develop the frames then offer them to other brand customers, but this time the demand for the Tavelo stuff is so much, they probably wont offer to other brand customers.
They're Adapt catalogue frames. You can get the Attack for 40% less direct from them, if you're in some markets.
@@ChinaCycling so it's adapt developing the bikes then, Tavelo are just slapping on their branding and marketing department does the rest? When I buy from them, am I paying for the product or the brand?
I know theyre very popular domestically, on social media and have a lot of team sponsorships so the marketing dept. must be getting money from somewhere.
Soon carbon fiber will be so stiff we can use it to hold up the entire planet!
They need to come up with better names.
Insane Chinese
Wheel design is tanking if you ask me. Those wavy designs look stupid and I could care less about performances if indeed there are any to be had. I'd never put a set of them on my bikes.
I'm not a fan of wavy designs either
The pricing on the new Tavelo is whack. For an Adept catalogue frame it's nuts.
Pertual basically copyng the spoke patterns of Campagnolo Bora wheels. Just own up to it.
That’s ok, the patent expired in 2021
Everyone in the bike industry copies Campagnolo... even Shimano. (Groupsets..)
Anything but ordinary paint job .
I love the chinese bike industry. It's so much more fun and exiciting than the bland, sterile and overpriced big western brands.
This stuff is getting stupi
"Stupi" is stupid. Rgr
China bike companies still selling things the old fashioned way 😂. The totalitarian society isn’t offended by models, go figure.
3k for chinese frame is a bit crazy 😂
