kaytay khap tutahi vaykaar.
kaytay lai lai mukar paahi.
kaytay moorakh khaahee khaahi.
kayti-aa dookh bhookh sad maar.
ayhi bhe daat tayree daataar.
band khalaasee bhaanai ho-ay.
hor aakh na sakai ko-ay.
jay ko khaa-ik aakhan paa-ay.
oh jaanai jaytee-aa muhi khaa-ay.
aapay jaanai aapay day-ay.
aakhahi se bhe kay-ee kay-ay.
jis no bakhsay sifat saalaah.
naanak paatisaahee paatisaahu. ||25||

I have a different view on first couple of lines of this pauri. Your explanation is almighty provides so much for us without asking anything in return. My understanding is, there are a lot of people who believe if we do good in this life time, we are pleasing almighty. By giving to poor, we are doing good deed.
Bahuta Karam Likhiya na jayee. Guru Nanak Dev ji is explaining, if you do a lot of good deeds, it won't be written down for you to get any benefit out of it. Vada daata til na tamahe, even big giver will not earn anything out of it. Then later in this pauri, he talks about other side of spectrum, kathiya dhook bhook sad maar, eh bhi daat teri dataar. He ends the pauri with, you, yourself know, you, yourself give. There are very few who understand that, they are nobles. If my thinking is wrong on this pauri, please help me with it.
