I think that the area gets a lot of snow. If you install a few handles or rope trails to the side rocks it would help you when everything is white from accidents. There are quite steep slopes around there. Take care.
He can ask for permission to improve the path. Sometimes a municipality will even do improvements themselves if it is their property, but often they would let him do it and keep controlling the work since they are the ones with the responsibility. If the narrowest places need a little "shaving" for the quad to be more safe, I doubt that would be an issue. However, it is always better to ask for permission (sell it into them). 😉❤
I feel you know what you want, and in some cases hope, to do and have the knowledge as to how to effect it all but I was relieved to see the houses 'bathed in sunlight' as that makes a vast difference. A quad bike. What a relief to know you will not be struggling with supplies on your back. I rather like the style of the two videos I have seen so I shall be continuing my watching and at the same time wishing you well. Middle England here (but I did live in the mountains of northern Tuscany in a stone house for 11 years ...)

Do people even know what it would mean to get and keep a mule? I'm glad you're getting a quad to move supplies and you may not always want to make the trek in on foot, although it is a beautiful hike. It does feel awkward to film oneself, but you do get used to it. What a magical spot you have found. What is the building above your two?

The first thing I noticed is that you changed the aspect ratio of your video which I think is great. It’s less distracting and more enjoyable to watch. All that livable space will give you many options, including I imagine, a rental unit to generate some income? Backpackers would love it. I’m still hoping there is a nearby road to drop off supplies closer to the house. Even bringing in diesel for your generator is going to be a pain. Or the panels for your solar unit will be large and awkward to carry on a quad. I’m looking forward to seeing your solutions to these challenges and I wish you much success!

Since 1976 my cabin is located 11,5 km than you in the same valley. I felt in love when I was 10 years old and now I continue to improve it as a beutiful lady from march to november every year diving snow or colours' trees, sound water under home. I can understand you...have a good rebuilt for your soul bye

As far as getting building materials there and the logistics, I'd be asking the locals who've had to go through that. I would definitely be planning on enough supplies to last once you are there permanently, being remote is definitely part of the attraction. 👍

Having just finished rebuilding an old Trullo (typical stone house) in the south of italy I can assure you it will be hard throughout the journey but just try to enjoy every step of it and in no time you will be enjoying your cup of coffe in the sun in front of a beautiful home you built with your own hands! P.S.: That Chimney at 12:55 is made from Amianto (asbest) is highly toxic so if you touch it be sure so wear protection for your airways and eyes and skin and everything. It´s also pretty costly to get rid of!

The way almost everyone goes is to or bury it or chop it up and hide it between other building materials you´re getting rid of. Obviously both are illegal.

17:15 : so I assume that part of the river including waterfall is yours. That might structurally solve a large part of your electricity requirements. . Just install a hydropower unit under the waterfall ('white electricity'). Look up f.i. : 'Off-grid Hydropower´, 'Jack Rabbit turbine', etc. That way the solar panels (expensive!) would be complementary. And you would a gasoline generator only as backup.
Remember to make your solar panels steep enough for the snow to slide off, and high enough that when it piles on the floor below it doesn't block them.
This story is interesting and worth following. Contrary to the expectations of many other UA-cam nature settlers and the comments, such a house and lifestyle shouldn’t expand too much. If living in existing structures is possible, wanting more and constantly trying to build goes against the essence of this approach.

Hey! I live in Piemonte, and I might be able to guess your location - perhaps somewhere in the Province of Vercelli? I go skiing around there sometimes. Life in this hilly region can be challenging, but dreamers are always welcome. 🙂 You’ll enjoy plenty of sunshine, even in winter, which makes solar panels work efficiently. The most direct sunlight typically lasts until 2 or 3 p.m., after which fog often sets in. In the hilly areas, snow can sometimes be a lot to handle, especially during particularly harsh winters. Some winters are mild and manageable, while others can be much stronger. Either way, don’t listen to anyone-just follow your heart and enjoy living your dream! Move in as soon as possible, without worries, and be sure to chop plenty of wood to stay warm. 🙂

that path is not a private proprety, you are not allowed to do whatever you like there
Safety along the path should be a priority, before it gets covered in snow. Very best of luck.

Hey! I live in Piemonte, and I might be able to guess your location - perhaps somewhere in the Province of Vercelli? I go skiing around there sometimes. Life in this hilly region can be challenging, but dreamers are always welcome. 🙂 You’ll enjoy plenty of sunshine, even in winter, which makes solar panels work efficiently. The most direct sunlight typically lasts until 2 or 3 p.m., after which fog often sets in. In the hilly areas, snow can sometimes be a lot to handle, especially during particularly harsh winters. Some winters are mild and manageable, while others can be much stronger. Either way, don’t listen to anyone-just follow your heart and enjoy living your dream! Move in as soon as possible, without worries, and be sure to chop plenty of wood to stay warm. 🙂
