RK3 Designs is a learning studio focused on teaching how to create beautiful epoxy finishes using Stone Coat Countertop Epoxy. These tutorials include epoxy countertops for kitchens, bathrooms, and much more. This channel provides tutorials for DIYers, contractors, designers, or artists.
Rhonda Dracoulis Founder and Primary Instructor
RK3 Designs started as a way for Rhonda to showcase her creativity but has blossomed into a way to help others find theirs. Her obsession with painting led her to start refinishing furniture and kitchen cabinets. She found customers wanted a nicer option than laminate but more affordable and customizable than natural stone, which lead her to countertop epoxy! Since then, she’s helped thousands of students, from across the country (and even Canada eh?).

UA-cam cut off the end of the video, so here is the ending: ua-cam.com/video/zZQongDGSLE/v-deo.html
Sorry, everyone!
Thank you Rhonda.
Thank you. Im not sure what happened at the end of the video. It was cut off. Trying to get it fixed.
She rocks!
Just use white caulking. I've done it with amazing results. You can also mix in your pigments or unicorn spit into your caulking or feather them in with a skewer or toothpick prior to epoxy.
Can you do a bathtub like this?
Your art Maam.. Really amazing.. I visit your channel last 3 months ago. And that's also the time i decided to make my youtube channel.. honestly you're the reason why i decided to make channel because as an amazing woman like you can do that kind of art i told myself i can do it too. And one of my video. I did an old table. Painted an enamel epoxy. I didn't. Used epoxy resin because it so expensive. I tried to paint and successfully i did. Thanks for inspiring those artist beginners like me
I love this so much!!! You are actually inspiring me!!! Stay focused and consistent and you’ll do great!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Fantastic 😊
Thanks 🤗
Can I just say how glad I am that I found this channel.
Right?!... this is my go to channel!

@@RK3Designs Wonderful Thank you .You are a fantastic artist .
Really cool effect! Very nice; would be possible to add pigments/particles to the epoxy itself instead of using foil?
Very pretty and inspiring
Thank you for watching. I apologize for the video being cut off. Not sure what happened. Trying to get it fixed.
Rhonda do you need to scuff up the surface 1st to texture medium will secure to top
Yes. You’ll want to scuff. 😊
Have you considered offering some of these wonderful updates to "Habitat for Humanity"? I suspect the new homeowners would love to have an upscaled sink in one of their rooms.
No but that’s a FABULOUS idea!!!! Thank you!
That white was simply superrr!!
Was it necessary to tint it?!?!?!?
That white of the texture Medium? You’ll want to paint it with something to seal it before you pour directly over the texture medium.
Can u do this method on kitchen sinks?
Yes you can!
Beautiful finish!!! Question: Is there a roller or technique to use to make your sink look like hammered copper? Thanks! I love your videos!!❤
Could this be done to a stainless kitchen sink? If so, any tips
Thank you for your beautiful videos
I am planing to do my countertops in my kitchen can I use the same materials you used for this video and could you please tell me where can I get all the materials for my project
Thank you very much
Martha
Hey there!! You can absolutely use these same materials!! I’ve done many many countertops using this method. Check out the following link for the foils and adhesive I use. They have some amazing foils!! shop.artisticpaintingstudio.com/?aff=22
Linda from Belgium, Europe. A couple of months ago, I asked the seller of this foil, if he could send some to Belgium. Unfortunately, was not possible. Don't understand. Just put it in an envelope (it's lighter than a papersheet.) Even sending them in multiple letters. They ask thé price I 'll pay with Paypal. If there is a possibility, I will let you know the colours I need. Thank you so much. Love all your creations. 👍👍👍👍👍
Did you speak with Jennifer at Artistic Painting Studio? I thought she shipped internationally.
80 is a low grit sand paper ... imnsure u know that ans just misspoke...also..I'd love to hear you say towel..
Lol. Thanks!!
Love the way you change the vanity, especially the leopard one. I contacted the firm that sells the foil, but they don't sell it to Europe. I can't find it anywhere else. Can you help me?
Over stainless steel?
Would it be possible to just do the basin in the copper and the countertop a solid color?
Absolutely it would. 😊
This is really cool, because I'd like to try a pedestal sink with this technique. Silly question...is your brush trashed when you are done or do you clean them (and if so, how do you clean the resin offf?)...thanks for the inspiration!
You can store your brush in acetone then when you’re ready to use, shake it out, wipe and use again. Just don’t leave it out. It will get hard as a rock.
@@RK3Designs Thank you very much!
The video cuts off in the middle of a sentence. Is there a part 2?
I just saw this…I’m not sure what happened. I’m trying to get it fixed. Sorry about that!
Here you go: ua-cam.com/video/zZQongDGSLE/v-deo.html
trials? you mean trowel?
If a sink or any other surface is in that bad of shape that you have to resolve to a caulk product, get rid of it.
Can you do this technique on a porcelain sink?
I wouldn’t recommend it because porcelain is so smooth. You would have to scuff really good and apply two coats of bonding primer. I would still be worried about delimitation.
I have a question I want to do a countertop out of the glass gems/cabochons dome tiles. I would love to put this on the bottom but I'm not quite sure if that will work. Would you have to cover the tops rather than the bottoms. Thank you for any help
Give me a little more info. On the bottom of what? Are you then going to add the stones on top and then epoxy over all of it?
@@RK3Designs I want to buy the clear gems and add either glitter or some kind of paper to the bottom of them to show through them. Wasn't sure if this would work for it. It's probably better to just add the paper on the bottom and then glue the pieces to the counter and grout.
How durable and lasting is this finish?
VERY!! Especially if you apply the Ultimate Top Coat 😊
What is the troweling product?
It’s a texture medium. shop.artisticpaintingstudio.com/products/ae-texture-medium?_pos=4&_psq=text&_ss=e&_v=1.0
Not into bronzy gold colors. Would be pretty in Neutral colors.
I agree, would be beautiful!!!
Do you sell vanity tops like this?
Not usually, this one came from the dump. I could sell them I guess. 😊
Can buy home depot or lowes
I don’t understand why you say that wall plaster cracks. If it did nobody would use it to plaster their walls. It is designed not to crack when it dried.
It’s typically applied too thick instead of being built up in thin layers. If it is, it will DEFINITELY crack as it dries.
This looks beautiful but for the price of all of these products, you could have just bought a new sink .
