I thought that the best thing you did was give players the option to choose how to play, but turns out the best thing you did was make it so the type of game play can be switched at any point in the game 🤯 this is a great way to get people who are not so used to free roam an opportunity to test it without losing their progress!!!

I agree I've only ever done open world when I play RPG games like Diablo and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet but never a Nancy Drew game before this is the coolest thing ever
I honestly think the dual navigation option is one of the best decisions that could have been made for the fans. This looks AMAZING.

I can’t even put into words how big of a deal it is that you guys included both options!!! I will always choose point and click over the Keyboard controls. I couldn’t even play MID, it gave me motion sickness even watching YT playthroughs. Your loyalty to the OG fans like myself will 💯 be what gives HeR its comeback. Thank you for giving us what we asked for ❤

This is the first time I've seen a game designed for playstyle preference in this way. It's really clear that you all took the criticisms from the last game in stride and used it to make things better. Even if the game coming out still has some kinks, I see things going uphill for the game design from here on.
Same. This is a huge boost of confidence for me as a consumer. Seeing their consideration for their OG fans like this made me 10x more likely to buy the game. Not only because it feels like they care about us, but also because it already feels more like OG Nancy Drew than MID ❤
Wow! I'm so impressed! The point and click mode is literally classic Nancy Drew. I can't wait to try both! It also offers replay value for peple wanting to play in both modes! And this gives Nancy Drew speed runners the opportunity to play both modes to get the best time!
Omg, this literally just changed my mind into buying the game! I wasn't going to bother because Salem was such a disappointment....but you brought back the point and click!!!!! I'm Sold. 100%

Providing both options I think is a good idea, as the different modes of exploration scratch a different itch in different players (or even the same player). It makes me curious if Classic Mode will include tilted camera angles (such as the hallway in the Crystal Skull--which gave a feeling that you were "stumbling" as you walked through the hall), which felt really artistic and helped elevate the atmosphere.
This makes me so excited! Glad you didn't keep the 'mix' of the two that was in MID - it was super hard to navigate.

Infinite positions and angles for shots! 😮😊 Probably, had to get very creative with the planting of clues to be in the view of fixed cameras and whatnot. Dual Navigation that is intuitive and conforms so many players is a huge credit to direction and developers! ❤

This is actually a cool feature, I will of course play it on classic first, but also to have the option to have the free roaming option is really nice for people who are new to the game or wants to play it in a different mode.

Also I'm happy that the Classic Mode is truly classic, and not what was done in Midnight, never liked that awkward sliding thing they did.
I was on the fence about buying the game and was considering waiting to hear reviews first... but this got me sold. Thank you so much for listening to us OG fans. Implementing point and click was enough to bring back the nostalgia for me. I will 100% be purchasing now. I can't wait!
Watching this again, I love that the modern controls don’t do the head bobbing when you walk. I also love that there’s no motion blur or anything either. This is like the perfect way to control in a Nancy Drew game and I can’t wait to be able to try it when it comes out!!

As someone who actually prefers the WASD movement - I am still so happy to see the point and click navigation back in the game. ND really does need to have this option. Really cool we can switch the modes mid-game too. Speed runners rejoice!

That is super cool. If I were going to use the classic mode, I might like an option for a quick animation between the hotspots. My favorite adventure game from the 90s did that (Schizm: Mysterious Journey), and I have a soft spot for that style!
That said, I'm probably going to get this game because it has the modern controls. Been waiting for that in a Nancy Drew game for like a decade! Can't wait.

@@HerInteractiveGames Why no steam integration? I do want to buy, but after Midnight in Salem crashed my laptop on the lowest settings I don't want to purchase it without being sure I can return if it doesn't run.

Why are there so many comments about wanting to play with point and click mode? IMO it's so outdated and good only for small indie games
Mouse option (classic) isn't working. :(
Make sure you do not have a xbox or play station controller hooked up whether it is plugged in, usb, or connected via Bluetooth. Then start the game over. The game is not controller compatible. - Indy
I’m still concerned how this game is going to function on my PC. Midnight in Salem was a nightmare as far as freezing and lagging.
