Thank you Robust and Easy Wood Tool for keeping Tim turning and teaching. Beautiful concept for a winged bowl. Thanks for sharing your time and talent! KANSAS
To me that is a throw back to the day of the TV trays because this is the ultimate sitting in bed watching TV popcorn bowl. Hot dog can't wait for that to hit the market
I'm glad that didn't take any longer. I was holding my breath the whole time. 😄 That is really beautiful Tim. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe. 🙂🙂
A “flying bowl” of the safe kind. So, just how many bunk blocks do you have, and how many bowls will you need to make before you run out? LOL! I think I would paint the ends bright while turning, just to remind me of where they are whirling past me at great speed. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Very cool. I wondered if you ever made something with those blocks. Now I know what to try and make with the Teak one I have. Wish me luck. Thanks for sharing
You are probably right. I can't imagine them using Cherry for blocking. I also have an old beam with a lot of wood bee holes. It turns the same. Really dusty.
I’d put blue tape hanging ~6” off the end of each wing both for visual indication and you’d hear it against you hand / arm before you actually make contact with the wings.
Sure can. Do me a favor and about a week before SWAT email me at info@wtwtim.com to remind me. I tend to get a bit scattered packing for a symposium. 😏
I do ‘t think it’s cherry, to me it looks like redwood or cedar. It looks great, and you got guts for turning this! One wrong move and you could break your arm!
Obviously, Robust needs to make the saddle and stirrups attachment so you can either work on something head on without damaging ... yourself, or to just revisit your youth, and not need the penny for the horsey. Nice work, and not bruised knuckles.
Nicely done Tim, the design rang a bell, an Irish guy called BB Turning did it a couple of years ago when he still was not talking in videos, which he does now and I wish he was when he did this ua-cam.com/video/5iiA8hT7bVM/v-deo.html
I think that is cedar.
You are a brave turner, sir.

Nice job Tim. I've been watching your videos for years and this is your best piece so far.
That's awesome. Gotta try it, just on a smaller scale (only have 12" swing)

The wood looks a lot like Western Red Cedar to me. Nice piece Tim!
Wow Tim, very unique project, where you come up with these ideas is beyond me. Very cool though!!
I've been told that I am crazy doing some dangerous things at my job, but Tim is really reaching on this! It's great

Way to go on finding a safe way to turn that. Looks cool!
Not scary and scary all at the same time - this type of work keeps you on your toes - good job - still love my elbo 2!
To me, it looks like an arched villain. "Villain" because those wings are dangerous.
Scary start but a nice finish. I always enjoy your ideas and how you explain what you are doing.

Tim very cool and you made that look so easy.
I have a couple of whiskey barrel staves that were given to me… And you just gave me something new to try……… Thank you
I do remember those particular pieces of wood, and wowee! That's better than anything I wouldve ever thought of! Very cool!
end grain tear out looks like cedar rather than cherry
Very cool, Tim and unique! 😄
Phil
Well done Tim!!!

What a great project!
Bold turning project. turned out great. I thinki you wood might be douglas fir .
It looks more like a softwood than cherry. I have some similar stuff that was a roof beam that someone was chucking out

Wow. That’s an awesome piece
Very artistic Tim
WOW!!!!!!!!!
Great turn.
Looks like Western Red Cedar. It should smell great while cutting, like the inside of a sauna.
great job
That's impressive.
Very clever, nice!
🎉🎉🎉❤ wow never seen that done before
Awesome!
Looks great but I bet there was a large pucker factor.

Cool.
Love this project. Can you bring it to SWAT? WOULD LOVE TO TRY AND MAKE IT.
Sure can. Do me a favor and about a week before SWAT email me at info@wtwtim.com to remind me. I tend to get a bit scattered packing for a symposium. 😏
Hey Tim it’s Rick from Waco. Wondering when you’re going to do the video of what I gave you? Will see you a SWAT. Help you again
You know, I've always enjoyed your goofiness but I never thought of you as bat----- crazy. Until now. Nice piece, though!

I would rather turn a small bowl and attach the arches or wings by some joints.
You’re right, that looks a little hairy at the start.

*Leans in for a closer look* BONK! 😵💫 @#*+~ 🤕
Man, that thing could mess you up in a bad way.

Very cool! I never saw that one.
do not try this at home, professional turner on the lathe, well done Tim.
Not the time to lean into your work.
