Great result Tim. When I smell cedar it takes me back to my schooldays xx number of years ago. When in the headmasters class he said to me "Simpson, you've sharpened your pencil six times in the last thirty minutes. You're either writing a lot or you're wasting time". I confess that the latter was true. I received a severe clout on my head and sharpened my pencil just once a day.
The knot was an interesting feature, but the other end had trails from an insect that you get a closeup of at 2:20. With a natural edge, that might have been interesting too. That's the problem with ugly wood, sometimes there are too many good parts to it. Nice job. Thanks
A beautiful and simple little project. I think using different tones of finish for the top and the bottom would look interesting too. Like, one darker/lighter than the other.
I didn't think that piece was all that ugly to begin with. It sure wasn't ugly when you finished with it. Nicely done Tim. 👍👍Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe. 🙂🙂
Great project. I'll have to try that with some of the old red cedar I have. And it's not ugly wood at all. The large crack kinda sucked but just call it a "feature".😂🤣 Beautiful job...thanks for sharing! 👍🏾
Will you be at the SWAT this year 2023? I met you several years ago and hope to go this year? I will probably drive from Arizona, so I will be able to bring some Az Desert wood? Are you interested in any particular species?
Great seeing you again!
Fun project. Always love the smell of cedar. It was nice meeting you at SWAT!!!
Was a pleasure meeting you at SWAT. (The Scottish guy) You certainly didn't waste anytime getting back to work.

Love the ‘shroom. It was super to chat with you at SWAT.

Love the grain pop when you applied the finish! I have to admit, I really did think it was going to split apart when turning
Oh Brian, you know Tim will turn something awesome….and he did. Good job. Thanks for sharing
Always a good project instead of tossing. Turn an old mushroom & plant it in your veggie garden or woodsy garden or perennial bed. It’s a good look.
Love it! Thanks for sharing! 👍🏾

Cedar and juniper. Smells awesome! Beautiful woods.
Great project Tim, thanks. I have just the juniper piece to try it on. Stay well.
Looks good.
That was an awesome project. Thanks for sharing.
Great ‘shroom! Just the right project for that dried up chunk of wood. Well done Tim!

Nice turning !!
Woohooo! Mushroom was my suggestion!
Came out very fun-gy?
Really neat, Tim. Did you meet up with Billy Burt at SWAT?
Bill
Very cool 😊
Thank u Tim and brain nice one find more cool wood like that. Tim by any chance does robust do smaller lathes
I think it is beautiful.
Tim it is awesome, sometimes you have to open it up to see the true beauty of the wood.
Very beautiful, I like it very much

I’m new here! Awesome work, do you sell your projects?
This mushroom would be perfect if it had LED lighting!
there is nothing ugly about that mushroom. Great idea what to do with all that ugly wood!
Does brian do the edits.?
👍

I will be there! I like anything except for the petrified stuff...actually it is pretty cool too.
I got some wood if ya want it.. we can meet wherever.. I am close to RSU
you will discover that a dust mask is needed when working cedar
👍🏻👍🏻
Very cool. Needed some porn-type music when applying the finish. Will we ever see Bryan's face?
Next time brain dose the turning on camera. With tim helping of course.
There is no such thing as an ugly piece of cedar!
First. Tim i watch your video's 1/4 for the turning 1/4 for your creativity od projects and 1/2 for your shenanigans. Keep em coming
Nice work. You do know the 'made in America' stickers are made in China, right?
There is no such thing as ugly wood. Just ugly work. People who burn perfectly usable wood are wasteful and don't have good imagination.
