This is a song written by hal-ca when she was 12 years old. Although it is not so mature compared to their songs in recent years, but it is still amazing that a 12 years old little girl can write such a song🤘🏻

At Knotfest Japan in April they were the opening act their day, mid-morning time slot, but there were members of other bands in the crowd to see them. Hal-ca was the best guitarist on the day. At a club last year I requested some ad lib 4/4 walking-bass-line jazz, and they responded with ease, improvising over a circle-of-5ths chord progression. No better musicians around, masters of their instruments.

They were children when they made this. It's completely nuts.

The video was recorded around Haruka's 15th birthday, but she actually wrote the song back when she was 12! It's what they played for the finals at the 9th Music Revolution in 2015:

Hal-Ca is a disciple of Akira Takasaki, a Japanese guitar legend and described as Japan's Eddie Van Halen, even though he has his own unique style where he's real precussive with his picking as well as picking almost every note, fast. His band Loudness had some International success, specifically with "Crazy Nights" and toured with Motley Crue. You can hear a lot of his playing in Dimebag (RIP), imo, and Dime's Dean guitar shape is similar to Takasaki's original ESP Ràndom Star model. So he's been a big deal for a while, especially now as an influence to young Japanese "shredders" like Hal-Ca and Saki. Nemophila actually plays a cover of Loudness' "Crazy Doctor" where Saki nails the solo while playing a Takasaki signature Killer model. He also has played "Crazy Doctor" live with Nemo, and Hazuki has said she wasn't confident in trying the overhand tapping she uses in her "Adabana" solo until getting pointers and encouragement from Akira. Imagine what EVH influence meant to aspiring guitarist here, and that's Akira in Japan. If you wanna see something crazy though, check out Asterism when they were all between 10-13 practicing and sounding almost studio perfect. Hal-Ca is 20 now, and they've been playing together for almost 10 years. Crazy talent in that group.

Hal-Ca is an incredible, fantastic guitarist who has no equal in the world. And now, as she has grown older, she has become a very pretty girl with even more virtuoso playing.

Hell Yea! Home girl and Bass boy just among the best out there! Love this song and video. It is my favorite of theirs! She is a natural born metal guitarist goddess! the drummer holds those two together and my hat if off to him for doing so well.

Can You image they was 16 (drummer 18) when they recorded this video? They have a live studio battle video of this song and man, its sound so close to the studio version!

    Hi from France:
Hal-ca (Haruca, the guitarist) composed this piece around the age of 12 or 13. The recording of the MV was done on the occasion of the release of their second EP "Session volume 2", just before their Album "Ignition" in 2018, she was 14 years old!!! :
But in addition to their own repertoire, Asterism has played several times bands like Rainbow, Black Sabbath or even Van Hallen. But their cover of Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Scuttle Buttin" is certainly the best tribute we could play to this immense bluesman...:

What is just as mind blowing to me as her writing t his at 12 . Is that she had only been playing for 2 years at the time.

hell yes brother glad you liked it. The first one Dawn you listen to there is a studio 360 version but I requested the live one so you get a feel of them live. Not best sound but still cool. They have other kick ass songs too hopefully you get to see down the line. Love to see them live one day and hopefully they get even more popular.

The drummer is MIO (Mio Yoshinaka), brother of the bassist MIYU (Miyu Yoshinaka). MIO has become a lot more creative since this earlier performance, especially with more creative fills and he has also come more to the fore in their later work. He is often a bit overlooked with HAL-CA (Haruka Noma) and MIYU stealing the show, but MIO is always very solid and very good at keeping the other two virtuosos in check; he really should get recognition for that more often.
