  • On my most recent trip to the craft store, I scoured the store for compatible bases that you might not have thought about using! If you've used Infusible Ink before you know there are certain restrictions around the type of bases you can use with it!
    When it comes to using Infusible Ink there are a few important things to understand. First off, for the Infusible Ink to fully adhere to a surface of the blank, it must contain a high percentage of polyester or have a polymer coating.
    The higher the content of polyester, the brighter and more vibrant the results will be. Because of this, you can use some everyday items that have a high synthetic content with Infusible Ink instead of sticking solely to Cricut-approved blanks.
    I've tested out a variety of different bases to find items that work with Infusible Ink giving you even more ways to use this fun new product.

    I’m so glad someone took this risk and tried things other than what’s specified for the infusible ink. It’s wonderful knowing we can us it for more things! Thanks so much!

    Hi I love the video you shared. I have a question. Did you use glitter iron on , then put the infusible ink over it? I am not sure what glitter you used. After that is finished I can put that on a tshirt or anything vinyl will go on?

    Hello! Glad I found you. I'm having trouble ordering from Cricut during the pandemic. They are out of stock on t-shirts that I need. But I'm wondering what other t-shirts would work. Would a mostly polyester t-shirt work with some cotton in it and any color? There are plenty of blends out there and all kinds of colors, whereas Cricut only has white and gray and so many out of stock. Just need to know before I try this and that and end up throwing expensive stuff away. Thank you!

      To my knowledge, anything over 60% polyester works well. I've seen people use all color substrates. If you are doing a dark-colored substrate (black for instance), you can't just do the infusible ink straight onto it. Just like she did on the metal in the video you can do like a white or a gold glitter heat transfer vinyl of the design on the dark cloth and then do the infusible ink in that design over it in order to get the coloring to show. Of course, It will feel like HTV on those items, but it's at least an option. Good luck and hope this information helps.

    Hello. New to the channel and Cricut. I have a project I want to do and I was hoping to get some help on it. Infusible ink on wood. So my anxiety is coming from sizing on design space. I don't want to waste product 😬 so sizing is very important and has made me put off cutting the ink transfer sheet. If you have a specific video with this reference, wld you mind linking it for me? And if you don't have a video already, if we can chat back and forth I would be soooooooo grateful. Thank you so much

    For things like wood or the galvanized metal, would it work to put a coat of polyurethane on first before the infusible ink?

    I made this blanket last night but I noticed that you infused on the back side? Mine infused beautifully on the front. I rolled it completely but because of the fuzziness it is not as nice an image. Any suggestions? I do love it though.

    • @SweetRedPoppy
      @SweetRedPoppy  3 роки тому +1

      If you infuse on the fuzzy side you won't have a clean looking image because the fibers of the fuzzy side will move around. For the best results, infuse in on the flattest surface possible.
