@@ringbimmer Thanks for the answer - I have long wanted to find out this nuance! Interestingly, is the composition of these tires modern or as close to historical as possible? Please excuse me generously for my obtrusiveness!
@@Mr_Twister77 the compound of vintage racecars is being regulated by the FIA. So they are safe to use but obviously dont deliver the same grip as modern high performande tyres. The hobbyist drivers are free to use anything they want but I guess they want a closest to original 'feel'
@@ringbimmer And I did not even know that retro races are held under the auspices of the FIA! It seemed to me that because of their obvious danger of such races, the FIA, with its manic desire to reduce all possible risks to a minimum, will never allow anything like that!)) @@TheTheotherfoot That's the only way to get them round corners. There's always a slide when cornering these cars, though the angle of the slide depends on the drivers. One thing's for sure, the drivers of no. 26 car and the red, white and green car following it (which s a Maserati 8CM GP car that was raced there in period) were really racing:)
Everyone driving can be proud of their vehicles. Such a wonderful display.
