I just got back into WOT a little bit after a three year hiatus. I completely agree with the popular consensus; that tiers 5-6 are where you want to be. After thousands of battles at tiers 8-10, it's nice to have a bit of fun for a change.
It's where that good rounding of the game grind starts leveling out. Tier 1-4 are the, "If someone looks at me and sneezes I explode" games. Tiers 7-10 are the, "I've gone through every round of my standard ammunition and have nothing left, next game I'll join the crowd and dump gold ammo in so I can actually do something besides die." Tier 5-6 is where you can play most like tanks in taking a few hits and bouncing shots with actual armor while also being able to decimate those who play poorly with your standard ammo. You get to deploy some actual intelligent game play in Tiers 5 and 6 that kind of are just not possible in tiers 1-4 and 7-10.
The only place you want to be in that game is outside of it. Nothings better then having your time spend on something else spend on. I too miss playing with my T6 Hellcat. But there are just too many stupid tanks in the game.
