- The Sierra 2500 HD has an all new trim from GMC for 2024. On the outside of the AT4X AEV Edition you will discover a bigger lift, special 18in wheels, 35in tires and electric running boards. On the inside you will be greeted by an upscale & spacious interior. Under the hood is a 6.6L Duramax V8 mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. As a brand new 2024 2500HD AT4X AEV Edition owner, I admit the truck is a beast, however I'm not convinced about Multimatic Suspension hype which I find stiff, especially when riding empty, not hauling anything, which for me is 99% of the time. For tires, I use Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT 305/70/R18 since I drive across to Canada in snow conditions. I bought this truck to replace my Ford Expedition XLT, I wanted something different; regrets? nope! I love the effortless power of the huge duramax diesel plus every feature the truck has. Done 2000 miles on it now.
So, do your passengers in the back have a bumpy ride when the truck is empty?

Interesting. I haven't driven a zr2 yet but was told that the ride was better on everyday type driving and roads which is why we were considering the zr2. Really could care less about the off road prowess. The tires and lift look cool but really the non zr2s are pretty beefy too and taller stance is sometimes just a pita.

Viva GMC! This is the Apostle to the trucks and I like the "FAKE VENTS" and I think without the vents, the bumper would be bland.
Joe has always been a fan of "functional" vents. I'm sure if there were actually through holes, he wouldn't have zonked it.

Lots of extras. Guess since my wife found out the price, its not going into my garage.
I needed a change from an SUV to a truck for absolutely no other reason than I had the SUV for over 25 years and it was beginning to give trouble ever so often. Wife agreed when I looked at a Toyota Tundra top of the line for around $75k. Even before I went to the dealer I realized the 6' bed would not fit my 78" RC planes. Then looked at RAM, rejected due to 6' or 8' beds; I needed something in the middle. Looked at Chevy, yeah 6'-10" bed, then GMC 2500HD, 3500HD, Denali, Ultimate all still under 100K before discovering that the 2500HD AT4X was coming out in the fall. No she was not happy but she came along to pick it up Oct end, when it arrived 2024 2500HD AT4X AEV Edition, 6.6L Duramax, Dual Alternators, Rear UnderSeat Storage, Hi-Idle Switch, paid over $126K including tax, including $10k over MSRP. Then a Diamond Back HD Tonneau Cover, then Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT tires for snow, plus new 6" lowering 12000lb hitch for my 10' rarely used trailer. Add it all up I think I have almost $135k into this beast. Yes,it is a beast for sure. Is it stupid money? Yes it is. But every thing is expensive these days.

Man I love both and the Tremor is freaking amazing but GM/Chevy are both a better job in my opinion so I might end up going with this.

How much should it cost?
For the price they sure missed a few basic, small and cheap to add touches… They should do a leather wrap on the column shifter, add accent lighting like they do for the Camaro’s, add rear ventilation to the seats, should have a better sound system than basic Bose. Add a simple strap or at least a net inside of the hidden seat compartments to keep things you put inside from flying around inside.

You can get a regular AT4 2500 HD and do own build with lift-tires-skids-bumpers, for TONS less!! Not worth it for just some fancy badging....

Sorry Toyota!!!!! GM has upgraded their interior design much nicer than any Tundra or Honda bs. American Car Brands are just more beautiful inside the cabins. None of that weird origami slanting sloping bs from over seas.

Truck designs haven't changed much since the early 2000's. This new GMC could be from 2004 and I wouldn't know the difference. Other than the Jeep Gladiator, I don't know of any pickup truck that looks unique or stylish.
Well the easy answer is not until the roof splits stop. Until that time, Ford pwns GM

Probably the best looking and capable trucks out there. Too bad their quality control is crap. They are prone to leeking coolant and various other fluids. Gmc will make you sue them under lemon law for them if you have anything wrong with a new truck. Customer service is worse than Ford. Speaking from personal experience.
