Really enjoyed your video. I'm in year 6 of living in Qatar from London and I love the calmness and the lack of pressure to be materialistic. But love the freeness of Dubai. Qatar is beautiful 😍
You summed up Qatar / Doha so well; culturally, not much has changed from my childhood memories, but it's definitely booming, and the architecture seems to have advanced tremendously. I remember thinking how boring it was as a kid, but I appreciated it as I got older, visiting family, compared to Dubai.
I’ve lived in Qatar as my husband worked there for several years, we both have two Master degrees each. Coming from a Western country, you can only live there as a highly qualified professional on a work visa (or dependent visa if your spouse works there and qualifies to bring family members along). A work visa is tied to the job and requires a lot of paperwork. It’s not like you can just choose to “move there” or “get sponsored” randomly. As a single you will “just” need a job (which you gotta secure first, good luck) to move there; if you have a family and are NOT on a package salary, school fees for children and living expenses for a family can easily surpass your salary and then the whole endeavour becomes totally infeasible. So, no you can’t just move there just because you want to.
Raya, 🤔 just for argument reasoning; with two Master's Degrees do you "gotta" have degrees? I mean really, in today's economy how can an education really serve your interests in their environment if it's "infeasible" to live there comfortably!😂😆
Hi Loretta, yes, coming from a Western country, you must have at least a Bachelor’s degree and usually some work experience in the field you are trying to work in. And again, you need an employer who will sponsor you. There is no citizenship path, you can only stay as long as you have a job there. You could establish a business or buy property there, but that’s not for the average Joe, you’d need a lot of money for that.
Having just returned from the middle east, you are spot on with Qatar. It’s not as glitzy, fast-paced, open and populated like Dubai, but it still offers something. I think it’s an easy move for anyone considering it, otherwise, try visiting to getting away from the buzz of Dubai! Great video
I first visited Dubai in August "the most unbearable and hottest month" by what people say. It was damn near empty and not as hot as people claimed especially considering their is AC everywhere you go I would highly recommend anyone to go in this month
@jordanhtiffirg1990 I also visited in July of 2023 and it was 45 degrees and unbearable. I never wanted to leave a country so fast. My throat was getting sore and I was starting to feel ill from the heat and AC. Best time to visit is late October to January. Best weather.
The reason why people in Qatar are more conservative with their wealth is because Qatar has old money. Dubai is very new money people who are rich but not necessarily wealthy. You can always tell the difference when you see how someone presents themself.
That’s not really accurate. Both citizens of Qatar and and Dubai is what we would consider ‘old money’ in the west. Foreigners of both places are just that, from old or new money.
Old money !??! Wtf!?? Dubai developed their oil money way before Qatar!!! The reason locals don’t post themselves too much on instagram is bcoz of privacy and judgement coming from their ppl. Also they post a lot on Snapchat and that’s where they flirt they will never post a girl they hooked up but they do crazy stuff on private parties and in hotels and apartments…, also that’s why they travel a lot in London… and most of them are married so can’t flaunt around or flex on social media bcoz their spouse will find out who they are messing with and they rarely post their faces for this reason
@@shiningstar6470 So you took my comment out of context completely. I was talking about the people that Dubai attracts are new money that cannot be denied. Dubai is KNOWN for new money and rentals. Whoever made their oil money first is non of my business.
I am ready to be sponsored, that place is like a dream. Beautiful. imagine working for a company and not have to struggle for rent, mortgage, or medical and to not pay your entire earnings in taxes. smhh US need to take notes, oh and the cleanliness, views and no crime. its lie heaven on earth.
I acqired a Golden Visa and now have three rental properties in Doha. My ROI is around 45% yearly. Doha is 20xs better than the US and safer. I have been welcomed , feel free to be my authentic self and experienced no racism as a Black Expat. I've had numerous conversations with the local natives about the west and theyd rather many of them not be here lol. LOVE Doha AND their culture!
Tbh In a lot of countries I’ve been to there will be some locals who don’t want outsiders there, but the government has a longer term vision. These countries won’t be able to survive of oil reserves forever so they need to start diversifying, locals will just have to deal with it. When certain western countries say they don’t want immigrants in their country for example they’re crucified 🤷🏽♀️

Hi! I’m excited to be here in your channel and I’m interested in learning more about investing and saving up for my retirement but am a little confused about the whole process. Any advice or tips to get me started up would be greatly appreciated.
Most people either do not understand the power of compound interest, or are just impatient. For the average Joe, however. I think it is just best to invest in the S&P 500, and just wait, which is reliable, albeit extremely long-lots of years. Or just use a professional analyst and speed up wealth creation. Most people underestimate the power of the latter
You're absolutely right about the power of compound interest and the long-term potential of investing in index funds like the S&P 500. For many, passive investing in broadly diversified funds can be a reliable strategy over time.
Employing a professional financial analyst or advisor can certainly add value by offering tailored advice, portfolio diversification, risk management, and timely insights. Their expertise can potentially speed up wealth creation and navigate market complexities, but it's important to choose someone reputable and consider their fees, as they can impact your overall returns.
I'm actually interested in this idea of investing through an analyst. Sounds like the most sensible thing to do in the market right now. Could you give me a pointer to who you work with, please?

A couple people mentioned Qatar as an alternative as they were about to move there. We didn't get a chance to visit but will put in on our list for next time. What about the young British woman teacher who was abducted and taken out into the desert and burnt? The locals involved had a trial of sorts and a joke of a sentence - there was no justice for the poor young woman and her family. And also all the small children and kindergarten teachers that died in the Villagio fire because someone had bolted the fire escape closed from the outside. I was living there at that time - it was absolutely horrible, and again the local owners of the crèche had no accountability.

Dubai, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. Maybe Oman but probably not. I’m 99% sure it’s going to be Dubai as it’s the most popular destination for European expats but I don’t cross out other options if they turned out to be more attractive than Dubai. I’ll have to gather more info and give it a thought. Which place would you say is best to relocate to and why?
Definitely top-notch delivery. It is refreshing to hear and see positive energy on UA-cam. Keep up the great work, and dont feel compelled to respond to negative comments. I have subscribed.
Lived in qatar for my whole life, I personally think its so safe, so small, and very easy to go from point A to point B- Although you think the country is small and crowded its actually the opposite. Qatar is like a small city but once you’ve entered it, you’ll think its as big as America. The weather is perfect for summer, going on a shopping spree here is also very perfect, not to mention the culture and food. As an arab i want to stay in this country forever because ik this country by heart and its helps me live a simple life. And for all the christians who like to party, there are many clubs and hotels that serve alcohol. Moreover qatar is perfect for anyone….but if your a lonely person and bored with your life, find you some qataris that can be friends with you! Alot of them are so nice❤😅
I’ve lived in 5 different countries in the Middle East and my take away depending on what your goals are if you want to have fun while you’re young I’d recommend working 9 - 10 months out of the year leave around the summer time to go back to your homeland to relax. I did this for 10 years I would stack my bread and around June I would take 2 - 3 months off work. For those who are older and closer to retirement age there are certain jobs out here that pay over six figures and in some cases it’s tax free so it’s a really good way to build your retirement and investment portfolio up at a rapid pace. Per GDP Qatar is the richest in the middle east because they owns 20% of Heathrow, and are consistently the number one supplier of LNG and they are a lot smarter with how they manage their sovereign fund it’s more of a business country with less touristic aspects whereas Dubai focus is tourism and business so they have to be a lot more loose with their spending in order to get a return on their investments.
Hi Lamide, new subscriber from the UK here and found your channel whilst looking into relocating to dubai....never considered Doha but to be fair it's more up my alley than Dubai so will definitely start doing my homework now......is it easy enough for foreigners to relocate there/Visas etc? Great video and content by the way....thank you
Thank you for sharing your views on what it's like to live in Qatar. I have an opportunity to work there in the security field and I've been doing a very deep dive into the lifestyle there.
Having lived there for three years as a single female, I can tell you what it's like. It can be very lonely given the conservative culture that they practice. Men and women are not encouraged to date. So, it's quite challenging to meet someone and freely interact with the person. Many have relationships, but they hide doing so. A safe place indeed, but it's best for married couples.
As an American, I envy how other countries protect their citizens. Not allowing investors to take housing away from locals should be a standard everywhere.
I was stationed in Qatar and came back to live there. The Middle East, while it has its benefits, is not the place for everyone. You have to know why you moved there and what you’re looking to accomplish. It’s not the place to go if you want to act out, be disrespectful or think you’re above all. They will put you in your place. So have a reason to move there, to better yourself and contribute honestly.
I live in Qatar and so much relate to your experiences. Nevertheless no complete story without the downside of it😊. I really enjoyed your video and must say your skin glows in beauty.
Interesting video. I emigrated from the UK to Dubai last year simply because it was the place i knew i liked in the region. Seems I should go check out Qatar soon!
The first and third apartment would be $2200 USD which is still incredibly inexpensive compared to where I live in Massachusetts. A luxury one bedroom apartment here would be over $3000 USD to have the same amenities and a comparable location.
I lived in Doha, Qatar for 1.5 years and it was extremely boring (unless all you care about is shopping). The business owners only care about themselves/making money and show little concern/respect for their clients & employees. And rent is extremely expensive, I lived in the Pearl and it's not nearly as "luxurious" as it's made out to be. It's all a facade!
Yes you can have permanent residency based on Real Estate. If you buy $1,000,000 US property, you can have permanent residency and free healthcare as long as you own the property

And also all the small children and kindergarten teachers that died in the Villagio fire because someone had bolted the fire escape closed from the outside. I was living there at that time - it was absolutely horrible, and again the local owners of the crèche had no accountability.
@@kimberleymcintosh1171OMG, how horrible.
The vast majority are low income and for them negligent manslaughter is horrendous. Very dangerous place for many
They hide their capital crimes. Many many people missing presumed murdered
This is my first time watching one of your videos and you have really enlighten me on what it’s like living in Qatar as an expat. Thanks for taking the time to create this video.
You’re welcome! ☺️
Great video LE. I was just there for the first time about the same time you were. I really, really, reeeeally adore that place. I"m going back in a few weeks to see what I missed. Thanks for you video. I JUST MAY, move there! Thanks again

I live in Doha, and have been here for almost 2 years. Totally agree on these points.
Great video really!! Thank you for sharing this. Would be great to get a similar content for Abu Dabi.
Great suggestion!
A really nice overview of the laidback version of the UAE...good to have options. I am a new subscriber!
Doha was amazing I visited several years ago. Great for a weekly stay I loved the condolania theme park Villagio it was great for families. The boat ride in the mall was awesome. Respectfully I covered a bit and still had fun!!❤❤ my phone is filled with fabulous pics…great memories. Thanks for sharing your perspective.
I am traveling to Doha with my son next week you video is very interesting & helpful for me ❤
Very informative, thanks!!🤩
Thanks for sharing your experience!
Trying to find best options for fashion executives to live & work in Mideast and you answered my question. Basically stick with Dubai 🤷🏽♀️
Oh for sure! Best of luck, sounds amazing 🤩
Wow I’m literally looking to move abroad & this pops up. It’s crazy because I’ve been deployed here multiple times and i actually love it there. I may consider it. I was leaning towards Southeast Asia or checking out Cape Verde. Thanks for this video 🫴🏿💜
There are no.coincidences! Follow your heart/gut. 😊
Loved the structure of this video! Qatar is goals!
Great insights. Would have loved to hear more from the expat. Sounds like my dream, as I’m also in accounting..
We are looking forward to visiting in March.
As an exppat who was was born and settled in Bahrain i would like to move to qatar for work . Qatar and Bahrain looks almost similar in many ways . Borh have same currency and cities looks almost same . I love to live in island . Qatar is like a cousin of Bahrain
I’d like to visit Bahrain soon
Thumbs up! It's clearly explaining the beauty of Qatar. I was shocked when the American expat guy said the government supports lots of things even for expats. Incredible.
Great video and presentation Lamide. I've been considering moving to one of the gulf states for a while now but don't know which one I would like to move to as well as I would need to get in touch with someone who could help me with all the formalities, job, some assistance for settling down, etc. I'll stay tuned for more for sure!
Which cities or countries are you considering?
Dubai, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. Maybe Oman but probably not. I’m 99% sure it’s going to be Dubai as it’s the most popular destination for European expats but I don’t cross out other options if they turned out to be more attractive than Dubai. I’ll have to gather more info and give it a thought. Which place would you say is best to relocate to and why?
Definitely top-notch delivery. It is refreshing to hear and see positive energy on UA-cam. Keep up the great work, and dont feel compelled to respond to negative comments. I have subscribed.
I loved Doha! It is so relaxed as compared to Dubai.
It really is!
such a great video! more vlogs would be great. loving your lifestyle in the middle east
Thank you!
Ooh I've been waiting for this vlog! ❤
Lived in qatar for my whole life, I personally think its so safe, so small, and very easy to go from point A to point B-
Although you think the country is small and crowded its actually the opposite.
Great video. I would like to visit Qatar some day. I've been to Dubai 2 years ago, and I still want to go back.
Would there be any good chance to do business in Qatar for an expat? Does the Qatari government afford easy access to business requirements?
Thanks for your review & honest content 👍. I am adding Doha-Qatar to my travel bucket-list 😄 Stay Blessed always!
Nephew and his family live in Doha, works at international school
Love this style of video, looking forward to more!
Glad you enjoyed it 🥰
Same here! This was my first time hearing of Qatar. Would definitely love to visit.
Hi Lamide, new subscriber from the UK here and found your channel whilst looking into relocating to dubai....never considered Doha but to be fair it's more up my alley than Dubai so will definitely start doing my homework now......is it easy enough for foreigners to relocate there/Visas etc? Great video and content by the way....thank you
I stayed for few days…. Beautiful place, beautiful architecture for sure 💖
I loved Qatar just very hot in the summer cant even walk outside but very beautiful there.
You studied Economic history???? I'm totally in love. Thought I was the only one interested in that. Love the video by the way.
Thank you & yea I did! It was an amazing degree
Thanks for the research peace and love😁🙏🏿!
Great info Sis. I like your content and I subscribed. Thx
I been when I was in the Army I loved it.
Very well narrated Lamide, well done!
Thank you for sharing your views on what it's like to live in Qatar. I have an opportunity to work there in the security field and I've been doing a very deep dive into the lifestyle there.
The veil is called, nikab. Great video.
Cool video, very informative
Very insightful video. Be out soon visiting again 🙌
What a great experience I loved it . I love Dubai and hope to visit other cities in the future ❤️❤️😍😍💯💯💯👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Yes, Qatar is very safe, we know you grew up in the UK and originally from Nigeria!!! A long way!! its safe
Negligent manslughter is worse than any other countries murders.
As an American, I envy how other countries protect their citizens. Not allowing investors to take housing away from locals should be a standard everywhere.
I deployed there as base security forces, visited the souks on my day off,
Was there during the world cup, met my fiance there and also been going back and forth. Agree it's super safe but also a expensive.
Qatar is the Luxembourg of the region. I have been here for five years and love it.
Cheers to almost 50k subs 🎉
so close 💃🏽
Great video. Very informative.
Awesome video presentation, as far as the location, it just oozes boredom, it seems to be a very "scrubbed clean bleached" local..😮
What are you doing for living in dubai? Are you happy there? Am a nurse and want know if it is nice to come and work over
From Germany
As a liberated women, can you live freely as you do in your native Country?
Great video as usual 🔥 You look beautiful Lamide, your makeup looks flawless !
Thank you so much 🤗
Thank you for this amazing information. I would like to visit Qatar.
Thank you. You look & speak incredibly well. Keep it going.
Yes, to each his/her own.
Most places in the world look better from the outside looking in.
Everything you speak here is facts
I don’t even need to move there. I can feel the boredom through my screen.
Thanks for the honesty opinion. Most people won't tell the truth when making videos
Yes you can have permanent residency based on Real Estate. If you buy $1,000,000 US property, you can have permanent residency and free healthcare as long as you own the property
Hello, new subscriber here. Thanks for sharing your experience and culture of Qatar, I really enjoyed it.
