That nuke is designed to test the age old question. “How far can a Minutemen run in a minute?” And really makes true the adage “Ready at a minutes notice” :)
With all your settlements, you've pretty much created a conversion mod. If I had the capability, I'd create a new game mod that would incorporate this, and have the player character be a wastelander who joins the Minutemen and works their way up the ranks to Colonel or something, or join Joel in Dave's overthrow.
All this talk of penal colonies (that have to violently discourage cannibalism), show trials, and propaganda offices, the references by a pre-war American Army officer to the Soviet Union not belaboring the dirtiness of their communism, not to mention the General-High Admiral-Speaker of the CPG's paternalistic, military-industrial yet folksy and agrarian image and cult of personality. Really gives the impression that ol Dave from Sanctuary Hills took some of the greatest hits from the other side of the Iron Curtain as well as quintessentially american revolutionary stylings. Sanctuary even captures the weird vibes of a hypernomalized society, full of loyal members of the Party.
Welcome to the final part of my custom Thicket Excavations settlement build! Let me know down here in the comments what your favorite part was, and if I should attempt to release this monster as a Settlement Blueprint for the Blueprint mod here on PC.
RangerDave a fatman has a kind of short range, so you would probably be ok. But 15 dudes in power armor with fatmans would render the prison into nothing.
RangerDave could you build a airbase? I think that if you have battle trains and battle ships, i think you could have 10-15 vertibirds and 5-10 normal airplanes. General Dave is also engineer Dave, so he could build that.
I think ive tried that before, leads to alot of issues with it all. Especially if you try routing power through them all (tried doing Red Rocket and Sanctuary, kept bugging out)
May I suggest that you build a minutemen airport/airfield of some sort? Since the faction you play with gets vertibirds if you defeat the brotherhood, it would be cool to see a Pilot-General Dave.
Awesome build, Dave! It really feels like a place you'd go to in a fallout game and do a few quests, like talking to a mob boss and smuggling some stuff in or talking to the warden and uncovering some escape ring.
Seeing settlements like these make me wish they were in the base game along with a cool quest. Like, imagine if a corrupted Minutemen or another faction like the Gunners had made this place for their enemies and you do something to anger them. You get sent here and have the options of different paths to get yourself out (prison riot, suck up to the Warden, sneak out if you have a good enough build, etc.)
Very clever use of those dragon's teeth to look like supports for the watchtower, just a small part of the fantastic quality I've come to expect from General Dave.
These builds really inspire me, but when your working on an Xbox. Well My game wants to kill it’s self even with the small amount of mods I use, and having them all properly set up with no conflicting mods.
Lol an Xbox? Try a PS4! xD Mods are super limited on PS4 no external assets. Game starts chugging pretty quick too. I run 83 mods on my PS4 67 of which are for building. You have utility mods on Xbox I can never get my hands on. I have to use the pillar and rug glitches like you wouldn't believe.
This was a pleasant surprise. Come home from a ten hour work shift and I'm greeted with a General Dave video (that's totally not mandatory)! I wondered why there's so many damn Fat Mans and mininukes in the Commonwealth. In 3 and New Vegas they were pretty rare (New Vegas especially). I'm only level 65 in my current playthrough but I have a dozen Fat Mans and a pile of mininukes. My immersion was almost broken until I remembered the Fat Man was developed at Fort Strong so it would make sense for there to be a surplus.
The thing that people who talk about Dave needing to help make another Fallout game forget one thing. He is using a pre made system. Even with mods (or especially with them), he is using a system that was already made, along with most of the structures and building parts.
I feel like Diamond City and Goodneighbor woud feel really threatened at this point with every other big settlement across the commonwealth being run by General Dave. Diamond City or Goodneighbor General Dave takeover build? :o
Thank You Joel for your for being there! Honestly, it seems he reeeealy would like to go home already, but thanks to him being there it is much more interesting!
Honestly with their slow flight speed batteries of gauss or laser turrets that were programed to target mininukes should be able to pick them off with some reliability.
Finally got around to watching this. Once again you've inspired me to hop back into Fo4 to build. My old save became corrupted after my last build session, so I lost a number of great builds. At least it gives me the opportunity to re-build old settlements with newer methods.
My favorite part is to the first settlement it was a noble minutemen cause and then with every settlement it become more dark and tyrannical. The last settlement build should be the death of the empire.
Dave the nook by the officers quarter's you should set up twin assault rifles placed together to make a mg nest to gun down anyone attacking the quary honestly I would if I knew how to make a mod is make an mg42 and mg34 mod to make an mg nest
You've managed to top yourself once again, General. Like Joel said at the end, the creative effort and personal investment you put into these builds both astonishes and inspires. Can’t wait to see what you have planned next!
I truly so enjoy watching these tours and build videos, I hope you (and Joel!) keep them coming for a good while longer. I even paused American Pickers to watch this instead. ;)
will you ever be doing a finished tour of Hangman's Alley? I thought that was an amazing concept and would really like to see how the finished product turned out.
Can you add a more elite version of the rangers? Like have them work in squads of 5 and have them be specilized heres a example sniper with cloak silenced 1911 and combat knife treanch coat night viz googles. But thats a recomendation and can they be called the minute men nighthawks please? And last thimg make them all diffrent and if you can make them high lv.
Very good. I knew the last one wasn't the last one. We we're still promised a riot. It might have ran smoother with less raiders but once the game caught up and everyone* was properly murdered it was all very satisfying. Easily the darkest minutemen build so far. *we see survivors but I assume they'll be executed or something
can't wait to see what you do with 76, even with stock tools being able to build anywhere will be a huge advantage. plus you'll have a bunch of willing gofers to bring you loads of scrap
Actually just a GTX 1080 which is only running at ~75% even at 1440p - the real killer is CPU because all of the AI (even as broken as they are here) and workshop objects. I'm running an Intel 8700K 6-core CPU with hyper-threading at stock clocks for stability (which is around 4.3ghz) and 32GB of DDR4 RAM (Fallout uses about 7-8GB usually for this bigger builds). I'm also running everything off of an SSD which makes loading into these settlements "only" take about a minute and a half from the main menu haha.
If I were to attack this prison (from the outside) I would first clear the bunkers and towers on the upper cliffs with rifles and grenades, then put a bomb of some sort (really any would do) in that tiny gap in the wall near the barracks, blow open the wall from there (as that would likely be the weakest point) and storm the barracks. From there, me and my team (because who would assault this alone?) would take positions at the barracks, disabling turrets and digging in until the second team blows the pikes and drops down onto the Warden's house, storming it and trying to disrupt the defenses so that team one can shoot down the cables that suspend the spotlights. With both defense controls in our hands or destroyed, the gate can open and the prisoners would likely be already making headway in escaping. At that point the guards are all that is left, and they would be ountnumbered vastly, given that its doubtful reinforcements would arrive fast enough to stop the plan in motion.
I mean Dave has a nuke that the guy in the suspended capsule can drop if there is a breach that severe, how would you avoid letting that go off and nullifying the purpose of your attack? If you destroy the capsule it would likely go off, you wouldn't be able to shut down ALL power to the capsule in time, and any attempt to infiltrate it would likely end the same way. Maybe like a man on the inside? Or a sniper so perfect at what he does he can kill the guard through the little air vent? Interesting to think about anyway. Regardless, still a badass build, I wish I could create something that cool😊
@@marieg.5868 By destroy I meant snap all the cables on one side, which will cause it to fall and likely hit the face of the quarry. I doubt that would cause the nuke to drop
i feel like in contrast to this you should build like a clean new looking settlement that's based on helping people in the wasteland like free meals all that with tidy and new equipment and maybe have like Dave has some materials he took from the institute and you can maybe have people who are escaping from the capital wasteland maybe they disagree with the brotherhood or are former slaves from that one raider DLC in fallout three the pitt i think it was called i think it'll be a nice change of pace and knowing you, you could put an awesome twist on it
My ideas for taking this settlement out is either a) infiltrate and have joel's men smuggle in a mini nuke or two to set up ieds with plus a mass of guns and cause a massive riot or b) sneak around with the use of stealth boys to place explosives on several of the easier accessible cranes for the command capsule to take it out completely. See using a fatman is too easy I like a challenge in thinking out of the box to take down the overlord general dave 😛

I would love to play this showcase some of the horror behind his empire
Dave's fallout world needs a good 100k+ word fanfic at least.
That's a fucking awesome idea.
@@gavinwalsh5238 I was actually considering writing one, at least a story about escaping the prison.

RangerDave yes please make this into a blueprint!
At this point he Minutemen empire is giving me very strong Qin Dynasty of china Vibes.
RangerDave a fatman has a kind of short range, so you would probably be ok.

Dave if you had a youtube sponsor option I would sponsor you.
Here is a settlement idea build a settlement in Concord and then link it up with sanctuary and red rocket
Yeah, throw down a slum in Concord.
Great idea, like a mega city
I think ive tried that before, leads to alot of issues with it all. Especially if you try routing power through them all (tried doing Red Rocket and Sanctuary, kept bugging out)

Haha oh man that was so long ago that I didn't even notice that in the tour myself!
Once Dave has finished all his builds he should joint up with a mod writer and make a Fallout 4 post game story mod
Dave's Minutemen Empire is now canon and you can't change my mind

Imagine every build he ever made, you were able to download
Blu Monstaa then I might actually finish the game because all I do is build
Then there would also be the need to download more RAM, threads and everything cause it would take more than two grand to buy the sufficient hardware.
Joel's talkin like this is the finale of settlement builds.
Hey dave you should make a settlement at one of the satellite stations in the game
I feel like Diamond City and Goodneighbor woud feel really threatened at this point with every other big settlement across the commonwealth being run by General Dave. Diamond City or Goodneighbor General Dave takeover build? :o
3:14 Ill say he doesn't want it, hes reading a Watchmen comic!
You’re going to need all the raiders and gunners of the commonwealth to break into this prison
This build reminds me of a location in new California the mod for new Vegas, not a prison but a large raider base built in to and old uranium mine.
Thank You Joel for your for being there! Honestly, it seems he reeeealy would like to go home already, but thanks to him being there it is much more interesting!
Agnieszka Modrzyńska glad to assist you on these LOOOONG and TEDIOUS BUIILLLDS. “Oh hi dave”
Guard Reed: “We’ve been overrun I repeat we have been overrun!!!” *pain screaming and gunshots in the background*
I'm so disapointed the riot couldn't even happen correctly
I aint gonna hang from no gallows the one shot I got off blew up the gallows
Fool, they'll rebuild the gallows within a day, you've just delayed the inevitable.
He's got a friend with another ready to blow up the builders.
A couple of mini nukes would take that out, just joking love these vids though

Honestly with their slow flight speed batteries of gauss or laser turrets that were programed to target mininukes should be able to pick them off with some reliability.
+JesusKong333 Without a license? Silly human, only the Minutemen may have Fat Men.
How did you manage to keep the prisoners and guards separated?

Excellent build! At the end I could swear I heard your computer muttering, "I'm sorry, I can't do that, Dave."
This man is utter genius with his builds
The minutemen should take the Boston Airport. You have a navy. You need an air force
You can also rebuild liberty prime for the minutemen
I just love how this started with a Republic of Dave feel (settlement of Fallout 3) and now is working its way to 20’s Germany
Nick D - I think its starting to become more like Stalin's USSR.
The Minutemen dropping nukes at a minutes notice
I imagine if the nuke didn't drop, you would cut the cables and drop the hole cabin, even if a guard is inside
LOL probably. The guard would be a noble sacrifice to the cause.
Seeing his makes me want to do a MGSV infiltration mission here
Crazy, deserves way more veiws

What mod adds the steel beams used as pikes at 31:40?
I imagine with Kinggath's new workshop framework mod, General Dave's builds will be a lot easier to do. hope to see it in action in his next build.
Does anyone know what mod the door at 39:32 is from? I’ve been looking all over for that one.
Amazing, its a shame the train tracks aren't right next to it because you could've had sort of a prison train
