My Integra A-8067 integrated amp. Bought new in '87, 80 watts per ch., 2 tape monitors and the phono section is extra fine with adjusting MM/MC settings. The volume knob is over 2" across, and the front panel controls and indicators give this unit a truly handsome look.
I bought a Sony STR-7065 back in the '70s, loved it for decades. No one who isn't around my age can appreciate what FM radio was like in SoCal back in the early '70s. FM was mostly a vast wasteland of empty air with a few stations clustered at either end of the dial but those stations were legendary for playing full LPs, new ones just hitting the shelves too. No annoying commercials every few minutes, just laid back music and sometimes interviews with musicians/bands. The interviews were laid back too.
Meadowlark Kestrel speakers. Had them for about 22years now. Beautifully hand built in America time and phase coherent, transmission line speakers. Even to this day I have no want for anything else. I feel sorry for people that perpetually change speakers since they just haven't found the ones for them.

"I like Big Drivers'. Big tough n rough truck drivers with beer n hamburger breath and greasy hair? Does your wife know? 🤣 The Technics amp looks tasty! BY THE WAY you had me at "I needed something to play with"🙃
As a teenager in the late 70’s I had a Saturday job in a famous UK HiFi chain. One week I was tasked with setting up a new product from Technics… It was the forerunner of the famous SL-1200. It was called the SL-110. A direct drive (first on the market I think) it came without an arm but a removable arm board allowed for almost any arm of the day to be fitted, in this case I fitted an SME 3009 with sure V15 cartridge. It was stunning! Both visually and sonically. Being the first model of its type it was seriously over engineered with a superb bearing. I fell in love, but it was way out of my meagre pays league. That moment of revelation stuck with me for years, until finally some 25 years later I stumbled across someone selling one locally for what I thought was a bargain price. It had a Rega RB-300 arm fitted with a Nagaoka MP-200 cartridge. It has been my pride and joy ever since…
Being a individual that was a dealer in the old days, starting in 1968, and personally knowing the old man, Klipsch is just a empty shell of what they were before Fred took over from Paul. Also, I would not consider any of the stuff you've discussed "audiophile" more mid fi in my opinion, and thats what all this is, simply opinion. And BTW, I used to own a Pair of custom made teakwood Belle Klipsch that Paul personally selected the Veneers for, The Belle Klipsch was named after his wife. I've upgraded from those quite a bit... but I only have one item in my system made after 1995, most new stuff, again in my opinion, is junk, unless you pay absolutely absurd amounts of money. Also, the big consolidations that happened in the industry just crushed any innovation, Samsung owning Harmon, what a effing joke. Sorry, I don't want to be a bomb thrower, but the HiFi industry has utterly collapsed from what it was prior to 1995.
@@UnitedStatesofAnalog Well, there's a few good products out there but unfortunately they are done at such low volume they are ridiculously expensive, I personally think 30K for a "audiophile Amp" is ridiculous. I sold Mac, Crown, SAE, Citation, CJ, Sonic Frontiers, Accuphase, Threshold and a number of others back in the day and never had an amp or amps in the case of monoblocks that cost more than 4K, some of that stuff goes for just stupid money now, I'm sure you agree, kinda sad. Thanks for the reply!
Every component of my modest sound system is special to me: the Pioneer CD player, the Cambridge AXA35 amplifier and the smallest Dali Spektor speakers. I never buy vintage stuff because I don't know how to fix it if anything goes wrong...
I've been a Klipschoholic for many years.. but after i got a pair of Palladiums i can never go back to anything they make today.. That was the peak of Klipsch.. closes they will ever get to high end sound. And build quality far above anything they make today.. Today the finnish looks good for a year or 2.. Then they start to crack up in the corners and just not look good anymore.. i feel very sorry for you if you live in a realy dry place..
XL Fidelity PG1200 are my no sell speakers! A bit like the Forte’s, no horns though but 12” bass, 6-1/2” mid and a waveguided 1” tweeter. Did I say Sweden built?!😁😎
Ok I need some advice. I’ve decided to try out some ChiFi equipment (I’m otherwise 100% vintage only). I have decided on a Fosi ZA3 amp. But I pretty much only do vinyl, so I’m looking for a phono preamp to pair with it. Fosi has an enticing one that is tube and also has Bluetooth, but it’s not rated particularly well. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
I got an EAR 834 valve phono stage clone from Ali express. Great sound Ran it for 4 years changed the valves out etc. before upgrading to a Hagerman trumpet MC. I've also had Douk audio and FX audio DACs around the £100 mark that sounded excellent. I have a BRZHIFI X10 amp around £85 that sounds as good as an Arcam a39 My current DAC is a xiang sheng DA- O5B II with a valve output My current preamp is a Doge 8 clarity ( admittedly this is not affordable "chi fi" but the sound is gorgeous) 🎸🎧🎵

It has been my pride and joy ever since…
Does it keep up with black ice you reviewed?
Theres a reason Klipsch has stayed in business for so long.
For sure!
@@sounddoctor5decades Nothing is as good as it used to be!
@@sounddoctor5decades I do miss the good old days. I was a dealer in the 70s 80s and 90s kind of miss setting up a Lynn LP 12.
Every component of my modest sound system is special to me: the Pioneer CD player, the Cambridge AXA35 amplifier and the smallest Dali Spektor speakers. I never buy vintage stuff because I don't know how to fix it if anything goes wrong...
I own all of the Klipsch Heritage starting from 1983. The LaScala ll is their champion in my opinion..
I've had 4 different pairs of Klipsch over the last 15 years, and the finish on the oldest still look like new as do the others.
Luckily Austin is humid.., but my humor is dry!
XL Fidelity PG1200 are my no sell speakers!
A bit like the Forte’s, no horns though but 12” bass, 6-1/2” mid and a waveguided 1” tweeter.
Did I say Sweden built?!😁😎
You’re definitely a Tom Cruise fanboy. #flightsuit
Hey... you!
Great video!! Watching from Red Deer, Alberta Canada
Great video. For me, it’s my musical fidelity A1. I swear it’s got a soul.
Nice vid, Bob. I enjoyed it.
Thanks, Steve! I appreciate that!
What’s a Cheto?
Where? Pennsylvania, U.S.A.
Can't put an Ortofon Blue on that turntable? I have be same table with an Ortofon black.
Sound good?
It's the internet. They're arguing. 😂
@@hookem2026 in the fun-fi world... check out the Ampapa! That's what I use with my Technics.
I got an EAR 834 valve phono stage clone from Ali express. Great sound Ran it for 4 years changed the valves out etc. before upgrading to a Hagerman trumpet MC.
I've also had Douk audio and FX audio DACs around the £100 mark that sounded excellent.
I have a BRZHIFI X10 amp around £85 that sounds as good as an Arcam a39
My current DAC is a xiang sheng DA- O5B II with a valve output
My current preamp is a Doge 8 clarity ( admittedly this is not affordable "chi fi" but the sound is gorgeous)
🎸🎧🎵
Good stuff, sir!
Thank you kindly!
Good stuff. Keep it up.

Ok, I'm not arguing... ;-)
I have no reason to
Thanks for the support!
You should have more than 11k followers. I too love my Forte IVs. I’m running them with a handmade in the USA Frenzel 4472 tube amp, amazing…I like you. Not in a gay way (not that there’s anything wrong with that).
@@JamesWilliams-ps6xz Thanks, James! We will get there together, my friend!
SL-1200? Reliable mid-fi.
It's enough for my bar application!
I love my Carver AV 705X 5 channel power amplifier. Quiet as a church mouse, runs cool even after hours of high level listening ( 95+ dB) had mine for 21years already purchased used ($450) Ebay
I had a carver power amp a few years ago. No complaints... except the round VUs
Should sell second system 🤔
