    This looks like some serious software. I have been testing out World Machine recently and this looks far superior in its workflow. Amazing tut dude, you somehow managed to make a dry software intro really enjoyable. Thank you!

    beautiful... how does it compare to World Machine? WC seems a tad more intuitive

    • @DesignwithTP
      @DesignwithTP  7 років тому +1

      There is still a lot left to be done to WC2 but I believe you can get similar results with WM and WC2; they just approach the design process differently. Plus WC2 is real-time which is great!

    • @helixbox3
      @helixbox3 6 років тому

      yes WC approach is straightforward and simpler

    For a beginner, do u recommend Gaea or World Creator?

    • @DesignwithTP
      @DesignwithTP  Рік тому

      If you want to create terrains quickly to get some good shapes I’d say World Creator. Gaea is a littler but larger of a learning curve but it’s shown good results. Just different workflows

  • @raghavsood6156

    What is better world machine or world creator. Any free alternative to these software?

    • @DesignwithTP
      @DesignwithTP  5 років тому +1

      Hm, well right now World Creator is best for real-time workflow and getting some of the best "shapes" you can get but World Machine has proved to have better flow-mapping and liquid simulations...so using both could be great together... however, a new update is coming soon to World Creator that should help remedy that bridge. As for free alternatives? I'm not sure to be honest and if so I doubt they would be as feature rich?

      @@DesignwithTP Don't you think you can simply use Unreal Engine 4's Map or Terrain Creator Utility to generate a terrain rather than using world creator or world machine and how about 3DS MAX

    Do you think this is suitable for 3d/digital matte painting or compositing stuff? Im not an game design person. I couldnt quite figured it out exactly where this software stands in the pipeline. Can you explain a bit?

    • @DesignwithTP
      @DesignwithTP  5 років тому +2

      I think this program can help aid with any 3D landscape design regardless of the end pipeline...doesn't have to be games. Can be for anything you want to use it in. Even making a backdrop to some conceptual digital art if you want.

  • @suger12323
    @suger12323 4 роки тому

    would you suggest this program to someone who is wanting to create a map of a world for a book?

    • @DesignwithTP
      @DesignwithTP  4 роки тому

      You could, but I suppose that depends on what you want the final output to be. Are you just wanting the map to be a top-down map or are you wanting it to be something interactive? You can definitely use this for a top down map with something low poly or you can likely photoshop something too?

    Thank you for these tutorials. Can you make animations in World Creator? I’ve noticed there are dynamic in water, waves, but I’m not sure if there is a flyover mode, kind of like vue

    • @DesignwithTP
      @DesignwithTP  6 років тому

      There isn't a dedicated flyover mode per se. You can remove the UI and use the arrow keys to move the camera at a designated speed to create the illusion of a flyover but there isn't something like that in WC2 yet. But I'm banking on it. There is animations like wind, rain, sky, movements though.

    You know why I'm watching this? Because the navigation tools are incredibly difficult. I see the actual company doesn't know how to use them either. I wonder where the real help is.

    • @DesignwithTP
      @DesignwithTP  4 роки тому

      I'm actually redoing all this as soon as possible since the UI is a lot different now than it was back when I recorded this video.
      What part of the current navigation seems difficult? Maybe I can provide some insight!
