Informative tutorial, but above all I REALLLLLY like the way this thing was shot. Such a cool idea doing this as a choreographed one-shot.

The long take camera work is really something else. Real quality video guys !
Thank you for the nice feedback!
the cinematography is awesome!
I picked up Neumann TL-103 today - great to follow these tutorials. Keep making them!!
This was not only super informative, but also well edited and the movement of the camera was great. Such a relaxing tutorial. Plus the guitarist ain't bad either! 10/10! Now to part 2 :)

what a professional work , thank you so much guys
I cannot thank you enough. Keep the great information coming!
If you put on new strings, play at least an hour your guitar before recording! The wooden guitar needs to get used to the new strength und during that always tune your guitar multiple times. You will hear the difference :) btw really well done video!
this is something else, thank you Neumann💯
These videos are absolutely fantastic!! Very helpful information, that is so clearly explained. Thanks so much!!!

I love the portable bathroom reverb!
The production value on this is so insane
Absolutely stunning video. Obviously lots of well-deserved likes for script, cinematography, lighting, tutorial, music and humour. But so many dislikes? Well, I think as long as the knowalls, nitwits and crazies remain at a max of 15% the world is relatively safe!
That's super nice of you to write, Sheik. Thank you!
Very well made video! Informative, concise, and well produced!
Thank you so much!
amazing video, very engaging and to me it felt more entertained to learn- well produced
Hi Nawal, thank you very much for your nice feedback.
Ever since I picked up a pair of TLM102s they have become my go to for acoustic guitar. Sometime I pair one in a narrower XY with a LDC Tube mic. I seldom reach for a SDC these days.
Brilliant video, thanks
loved the awesome quality of the video, this need more subscribers
Thank you, Andru!
You rocked this video and tutorial. I walk away a satisfied student.

Very well made video! And lots of good information! Well done
Thanks, Anna!
Superb and thanks 👌🏼👍🏻🙏🏻
Thank you so much!
The intro is beautiful
Amazing!
GOLD!
I like the way you describe the reasoning for each step. I like the way you show each sound type for the guitar by throwing up fake walls and throwing the rug down.
Thank you for the kind feedback! 🙂
these videos are so well done!!!
Hi Fergal, thank you!
Fergal isn't that microphone that you purchased recently?
Fergal O'Hanlon l
Very helpful and well done.

Thanks for the info. My room is so dry that even from far away if I place the mic still sounds dry as a bone. Hence I mic it close to the 12th fret a bit off axis and add some room reverb while recording it
Great!!!thanks!!
great series.....very helpful :)
Thank you for your feedback. Stay tuned and keep recording!
Hi I cam across your video and enjoyed it very much. I am trying to get great sound recording my 1970 Yamaha fg 200 guitar made in Japan. This guitar has great full and deep sound. I purchased a Neumann TLM 103 and have been recording in my new two room studio. Any advice to get best results would be appreciated, thanks, Laurence.
Thank you guys..👍👍👍👍
Great video cheers
Please more like that !
Thank You 🙌🙌🙌🙌 Very Helpful Video 🔥🔥🔥🔥.
Well done! Would anyone know what song is played by the acoustic on the floor in the beginning of the video?
Great video. Thank you! That mic is just a hair out of my price range but I really like the sound that I get out of my Warm Audio WA47jr. It's somewhat of a clone of a U47.
How has the Wa 47 JR held up? Just got mine in today!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I dig your videos!
Wish I could afford Neumann mics!!:(
bloody hell that is a class video. so well made.
Thank you!
Just had this in mind: Use new Strings. BUT! Do it 2 days before recording because they will detune so damn fast that it gets awful :) They need to be "played in".
I hope my english wasnt to bad :) Greetings
Lous Topic
Greetings come first in the sentence other than that I just heard rushed English
When you fit new strings tune up to 2 semitones above the note you want and then tune back down; then they don't need to be played in, and settle down almost instantly. If you're worried about tuning up 2 semitones, just tune up 1 semitone, and this will at least reduce the time to settle down.
Very informative...
I need to know for Lyric Opera singer (Tenor / Baritone) what microphone/s do you recomend me???
Ausgezeichnet!
thank you
Wait a tick. Was that one shot? Well bloody done.
I have a TLM 103 and I've never been 100% satisfied recording using this technique. Do you think it could be a good idea to pick up a 102 and give it a try? I heard the 102 is a little more forgiving with placement and so forth.
My best results come from a cabinet mic on an acoustic amp. I prefer to use an instrument mic but even following the best practice for positioning, I need to turn the gain way up which then picks up other noise.
Hi guys, I'm about to buy a new Neumann mic... I want to use this mic exclusively for recording acoustic guitar!! No vocals! I'm between the TLM 102, TLM 103 or the KM184, which of these 3 mics would be better to record acoustic if only using one mic?? Thank you very much for your help :)
This is very informative stylish and concise. Can I ask if you have anything similar for recording vocals and guitar live in studio. What mics and positioning etc? Thanks again.
Hi Brandy, thanks for your positive feedback! You can have a look to our series about "recording vocals in your home studio" starting with www.neumann.com/homestudio/en/recording-vocals-in-your-home-studio-part-1
This is such a high quality video - unfortunately no one has that kind of room to record in
Hi there! Feel free to watch our "Recording Basics" videos where we show you how to optimize your own room at home: ua-cam.com/video/vbOoOzEmubA/v-deo.html.
awesome thanks!
Hi! Thank you for your feedback, which always helps us to improve and grow. We're glad that you like this tutorial!
Hello, what brand and model is the mic stand? Please, Thanks.
Its 2021. This video is just as fresh and educative. Where can I find they opening song? What a piece
Hi David, Achim Rust has not published this song. Let's make some noise though, so he'll do it 😉 .
@@GeorgNeumannGmbH yeah we need it 😃. Its a master piece
You know what Neumann turned out to be a surprisingly good mic for acoustic guitar? The KSM 105, marketed as a hand held condenser for live vocals. I screwed off the screen, and used it like a pencil mic. It kind of blew me away. (it's also in that "affordable" price range, btw ...)
Thanks- lots of good info here- I'm hoping you could talk about the unique situation of an electrified arch top guitar, where you want both the air sound of the guitar itself, and the amp sound. It seems you might prefer a condenser mic over a ribbon mic, for capturing the details of an acoustic guitar? Thanks-
The microphones used in our videos are for demonstration purposes. However, you can directly compare the characteristics of our microphones in our microphone finder, by simply selecting ‘compare’.
Have a look here: en-de.neumann.com/microphones
4:05 for mic placement. Before that they say to make sure you have new strings, and to buy their very nice mic.
Based on production value alone, i can't believe you only have 30k subscribers
Especially considering this video has over half a million views!
Thanks!! Now I have my first Neumann microphone (tlm 102). N.H.S. Academy is great!!
Thank you 😊
