Informative tutorial, but above all I REALLLLLY like the way this thing was shot. Such a cool idea doing this as a choreographed one-shot.

The long take camera work is really something else. Real quality video guys !
Thank you for the nice feedback!

This was not only super informative, but also well edited and the movement of the camera was great. Such a relaxing tutorial. Plus the guitarist ain't bad either! 10/10! Now to part 2 :)
I loved this tutorial, but I think the most impressive thing is the cinematography! Flawless!
Wow this is great. Kept me interested and learning at the same time without getting bored. Really great job.

I love that you put in some extra CG work, great videos and very inspiring. :)
Very informative, after playing acoustic over 50 yrs this tutorial solved many issues, thanks.
Hi Robert, thanks a lot for your nice feedback. Have a great day.
Nicely choreographed and well thought out video with cinematic/directorial touches. Informative too. Good job.
The showmanship in this video is phenomenal
If you put on new strings, play at least an hour your guitar before recording! The wooden guitar needs to get used to the new strength und during that always tune your guitar multiple times. You will hear the difference :) btw really well done video!
Compliments to the video makers , great graphic effects and filming quality , I love my Neumann mic

Great Series ! beside I Love the way it's shot, the information is very well to the point. Hands on and good to incorporate into my own environment
I like the way you describe the reasoning for each step. I like the way you show each sound type for the guitar by throwing up fake walls and throwing the rug down.
Thank you for the kind feedback! 🙂
exactly what I was looking for. Thanks.
The production value on this is so insane
Loving my little 102 on my fiddle. Kicks butt with the vocals I have recorded as well. Great video for the newbie when recording something other than your "main" instrument and you are only using one mic.
Love the room
great work guys !
this is soo badass!!!! straight to the point. love love love!! this
bloody hell that is a class video. so well made.
Thank you!
Thanks a lot sir, such an informative video where many musician didn't reveals their tricks
that's what you call a damn good mic video. Nailed it folks
Absolutely stunning video. Obviously lots of well-deserved likes for script, cinematography, lighting, tutorial, music and humour. But so many dislikes? Well, I think as long as the knowalls, nitwits and crazies remain at a max of 15% the world is relatively safe!
That's super nice of you to write, Sheik. Thank you!
These videos are pure genius 👌🏻🥵
Wish I could afford Neumann mics!!:(
what a professional work , thank you so much guys
Martin D-28, Thomastik-Infeld strings, Neumann TLM-102 = perfect recording!

Ever since I picked up a pair of TLM102s they have become my go to for acoustic guitar. Sometime I pair one in a narrower XY with a LDC Tube mic. I seldom reach for a SDC these days.
Just had this in mind: Use new Strings. BUT! Do it 2 days before recording because they will detune so damn fast that it gets awful :) They need to be "played in".
I hope my english wasnt to bad :) Greetings
Lous Topic
Greetings come first in the sentence other than that I just heard rushed English
When you fit new strings tune up to 2 semitones above the note you want and then tune back down; then they don't need to be played in, and settle down almost instantly. If you're worried about tuning up 2 semitones, just tune up 1 semitone, and this will at least reduce the time to settle down.
I bought my first Neumann M 149 in 2002...It is still my No 1.....later I got a Stereo Pair of KM 184s.....also another go to for recording Acoustic Piano, Acoustic Guitars, and Percussion......I use Universal Audio 6176s,LA 610;SPL Channel One and Neve Preamps which I have as hardware in my studio......sounds absolutely celestial and takes minutes to dial in......
Thank you for your feedback! We are glad that you enjoy using our microphones. Have a great day!

Amazing!
This is gonna help me in my new studio loads thanks for great production
Thanks for your nice feedback Harry!
You know what Neumann turned out to be a surprisingly good mic for acoustic guitar? The KSM 105, marketed as a hand held condenser for live vocals. I screwed off the screen, and used it like a pencil mic. It kind of blew me away. (it's also in that "affordable" price range, btw ...)
Thank you so much Georg Neumann for this great information!! subscribed and following your videos. thanks for sharing!
Hi Joe, thanks for your feedback. We are glad to hear that our tutorials were helpful for you. Have fun and keep recording!
My best results come from a cabinet mic on an acoustic amp. I prefer to use an instrument mic but even following the best practice for positioning, I need to turn the gain way up which then picks up other noise.
Thank You 🙌🙌🙌🙌 Very Helpful Video 🔥🔥🔥🔥.
Brilliant video, thanks
Good tutorial. Thanks for the info!
Superb and thanks 👌🏼👍🏻🙏🏻
The intro is beautiful
Very well made video! Informative, concise, and well produced!
Thank you so much!
Thank you very much for these tutorials they are of great help. It would be amazing if you could do one for recording guitar with two microphones
Thanks for your feedback. We are glad to hear that our tutorials were helpful for you. We are continuously producing new videos. Your wish is noted. More tutorials will follow soon. In the mean time, feel free to visit our new website www.neumann.com/homestudio/en/ Have fun and keep recording!
4:05 for mic placement. Before that they say to make sure you have new strings, and to buy their very nice mic.
Thanks!! Now I have my first Neumann microphone (tlm 102). N.H.S. Academy is great!!
Thank you 😊
Very well directed video, thanks!!
wait, affordable? when was over 1,000 for a mic affordable? now for the quality it is I'm sure it's affordable for a well established studio. not so much the amateur recording artist. but the information you gave me was priceless and I will continue to follow your channel.
Thank you guys..👍👍👍👍
Its 2021. This video is just as fresh and educative. Where can I find they opening song? What a piece
Hi David, Achim Rust has not published this song. Let's make some noise though, so he'll do it 😉 .
@@GeorgNeumannGmbH yeah we need it 😃. Its a master piece
Very informative...

great series.....very helpful :)
Thank you for your feedback. Stay tuned and keep recording!
I dig your videos!
great video, thanks!
Ausgezeichnet!
Sh!t, I thought he was gonna start playing Wonderwall when I saw that Em
Can't wait for the day when Neumann mics are affordable. Such a wonderful sound
Look up Michael Jolly/Oktavamod. ;-)
Or just eq match just borrow one day calibration with pink noise with flat speaker
Great video. Thank you! That mic is just a hair out of my price range but I really like the sound that I get out of my Warm Audio WA47jr. It's somewhat of a clone of a U47.
How has the Wa 47 JR held up? Just got mine in today!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Must be nice to have a production crew!
Based on production value alone, i can't believe you only have 30k subscribers
Especially considering this video has over half a million views!
thank you
man, I never tried tuning my guitar while I have my capo placed on it....nice tutorial :>>
I'm glad someone noticed it, I liked how it said E too
I liked it for the content but I really liked it for the production of the video-one take!! Like Tarkovsky! How many times did they practice that one? And that the space looks just about identical to my home studio. And my friend's, too. But I'm ticked that they leaked my little secret about the bathroom sink. The real stunner, though, is that carpet. What's really cool is that he repeats the trick backwards at the end of the last video in the series. Neumann should be selling those. Maybe with a matched pair of the 102s or the 107s-for the home studio market, of course. Joking aside, I really think this is well done!
Hi, thank you very much for your nice feedback!
Thanks for the info. My room is so dry that even from far away if I place the mic still sounds dry as a bone. Hence I mic it close to the 12th fret a bit off axis and add some room reverb while recording it
Thank you so much!
You guys need to re-release the KM54
