I like this dude. Solid real advice right there. I have a 2022 Tacoma off road with 285 75 17s on TRD Pros with a 3” OME suspension lift, along with the OME control arms. I had a hard rub on the cab mount due to the KO2s width. Ended up doing a cab mount chop but that isn’t for many folks. Alignment is critical to the process. Listen to this man.
Get a set of SPC UCA's and move your tires forward. I have 285/70R17 on 17x8.5" wheels and no rubbing on a 2" lift. Get the right UCA's and get your alignment correct and it will fit 33" tires no problem!
I have no lift, same wheels, 265 75 16 and it rubs identical. It seams 265s stock are the same as 285s with 2.5 lift for reference. Now I know I need to lift at least 2.5, thanks, video I needed
Thank you for sharing. I ended up buying wild peaks with the OR wheels 265/70/16. No rubbing issues but I wanted to go bigger on a stock suspension - 2021 trd off-road 4x4.
I have a trd lift kit (2" front 1" back) with trd pro sema wheels and 275/70/17 falken wp at3w. I have zero rub at all. If I went 285, it would have rubbed for sure
I can get my hand all throughout the wheel well, never experienced or felt any sort of rub. I've tried fully turning the steering wheel left and right, I've tried inclines, I've tried reverse, bumps, etc. No rubbing.
@@ceeIoc a zero offset will rub, the cab mount or the front plastics depending on your caster. I have a +4.5* caster and 3" lift, zero offset and when I was running 33s had no rub on the street or off-roading.
" when does one things on one side and does different on the other" hahahaha nobody would get that unless they truly watch your channel. On your previous truck could you of gotten away with no lift with just the viper cut and minor mods without any rubbing? Nervous about my fitting next week. This video was hella informative and made me think if I could do the same( viper cut) with the 17x9.5 -18 on the 275/70/17 wheels I was telling you about on stock suspension. Sounds alot more affordable than the whole lift. Now you really got me thinking.
@@OfficialAing that’s mainly because your offset was too high, apparently a 0mm offset is the best for this set up, but that’s just what I’ve been told

Depends on your offset
Great info brother!!!!
Hey bud, could you tell me what is it that you aya at the very end. Have trouble picking it up but sounds cool as hell!

@@krazylilman09 265 75 16 won't rub on factory wheels, factory wheels have different offset
@@krazylilman09 I had same tires on factory wheels for 1.5 years
Glad I could help! Definitely 2.5 lift is the sweet spot 👍

With the setup does it get close to rubbing?

I just got went with 285/75r16 on icon 2.5. I’m rubbing and close to needing a cmc. Definitely going 275 next set of tires
what about 2 inch lift on 17x8.5 -12 offset with 285/70r17?
I have a 4” on 34s no rubbing
285 will fit a stock pro that's a 1" lift. Wheels have a +12 you need to move your caster up. It's all about your offset and caster.
Thank you for sharing! 😎👍
What about zero offset?

@@kevinmeldrum1 ok so a good alignment could correct this? I have a 2 inch lift and want to fit 285’s on 17x8.5 0 offset. Trying to avoid cmc.
@@ceeIoc a lot of positive caster but might still need to trim plastic depending on your driving.
Have you always had that front windshield decal? Am I tripping? I mean it is late. 😁
Maybe a couple weeks now lol better late than never!

I have to say I like the chrome rims better than the black

I’m trying to find out will 285 70r17 -12 rub with a 3/2 lift.
Robmotive did it no problem! I’m only 2.5 inch and I rubbed bad!

Was it rubbing on the cab mount?
yessir, need to do the cmc on this truck. My last truck i dint have to....weird.
So with the 2.5 lift in the front what the safest size tired to go without rubbing at all ?
275/70/17x9 -12 offset ill be ok on 2"lift
Nothing worse than a rub! One of my biggest lift pet peeves😬
Link for the lift kit you got???
