I use a pretty basic lazer system where all my cards are in a sleeve with a QR code. When someone buys a card I scan the QR code on the sales page, that shoots a weak lazer onto the bottom of the sleeve which melts it. The card then falls out the damaged sleeve into a touch-sensitive small electric truck which delivers the card to me at my desk.
You might have already considered this, but my first thought seeing your 5 row box was "why isnt he using tabs?". Ebay sellers can put a unique sku number on their listings thats only seen by them, so when they list something, they add the sku #, then they organize their storage by sku. Ie, they might have shelf A, B, and C. Then numbered boxes on each shelef, say box 1, 2, 3, etc. So when they list something, they put the item in, say, the B6 box, note it in the listing, then when it sells, they can see "b6" and can go right to the box its in and only have to sift through one small box. But i dont know if you have an easy way to note storage location for your listings, i know ebay does but idk about others. But maybe a separate program? Surely theres something. But even just adding quick tabs to make the alphabetic system faster to dive into could save you seconds every time you pull. Like recipe index cards or rolodexes. Then you might not even have to alphabetize, just a bunch of small tabbed categories so you can find cards super faster based of sku. Idk, seeing rows full of cards and then imagining selling from them made my anxiety spike like crazy lol id want to flip the dang box every time i made a sale!
Danny!!!!! I finally got around to opening those shiny star V boxes I got from you a few months ago. First box.....pulled a gold Zacian V! The second box....pulled that Zard!! Shiny charizard Vmax!! Sooo Im going to need you to pick some lottery #'s for me to play, ur my good luck charm man lol. I am curious though, any suggestions on what to do with the accumulating Japanese bulk??? (Making a master set only goes so far lol) Is anyone doing what lgs' do with English bulk?
So what do you do with all the uncategorized "true" bulk? I mean the boxes and boxes of unsorted stuff you've already pulled what you feel are relevant, above-bulk cards that you go to sell. Are you just putting it up somewhere, donating it, do you have a plan for it, or is it just taking up space?
Do you take pics of your cards when you post them on TCG? I know it’s an option but if you do it congrats. I don’t know how you would have the time to do that?
Card Sorting Trays are really nice if your store is less than 1000 cards. The trays are very nice for making dedicated stacks, for example promo/gx/holo/V/etc stacks in each tray. Easy to take out, without having to really pull on a stack of cards from the top. I have some flimsy plastic ones from Ultra Pro, and they do the job amazingly! There's also other brands that sell them
What software or application do you use to add/manage your inventory to your website? Do you do each card manually or is there a way to bulk upload with all the details? Thanks for your help 🙏 and great video's ❤
Great job Danny! Your videos have helped me start up my own small pokemon tcg business. I really appreciate all the effort you put into your videos to educate the pokemon community, keep up the awesome job :)
So I have my cards separated by type: vintage, ex, gx, v etc. Then each type gets a number, and the card gets a sub number. So vintage has the number 1, then the first card is numbered 11, 12, 13 ..... 101, 102, ... 1001, 1002 on down the line. They all get put in a spreadsheet, so when I fill an order, I just look it up in the spreadsheet and find the inventory number. This way, I don’t have to spend the time alphabetizing the cards as they just get added to the back of the line. But they are still assigned some identifier, so I can find them easily. It may sound convoluted, but it works relatively efficiently.
Hey brotha so let's say I have 1000 cards listed for Brilliant stars and then I go and list another 1000 on a different day. How do you incorporate that inventory together?
Love the content. Thanks for doing what you do. I was hoping that marnie would never come to the US as I have the japanese version, but I am glad that everyone else can have them.
Great video as always. I always categorize and log each card I collect by set. I usually keep certain rarer cards and vintage bangers in different spots. As well as several different pokemon like pikachu and other favorites seperate . Lol just collecting is stressful sometimes. I may stop logging each card on my app. It's so time consuming. Do you guys seperate the cards that you put on the site? I figured it could save time too if not
Awesome video Danny. Super excited about the reprint. I recently started selling cards on tcg about a month ago to help my boy out with his collection and decks. Your video have been a ton of help and always looking forward to the next video. What is the best way to keep up with your stock with your stores
In my opinion, organizing cards alphabetically is not a good way to organize your cards, when you have a growing collocation. Putting it alphabetically, especially in a box, makes it much harder to add new cards into the box. Because if you want to add a card like Aipom then you have to go through all of your A's and figure out exactly where the Aipom should be. That's a lot of work if you have a lot of A's. I personally like to organize my boxes by type. It makes it much easy to add new cards, while still maintaining the organizational system. However, if you don't plan to add new cards to your box, then putting them in alphabetical order is not a bad idea. It would allow you to find a specific card more easily.
I love these videos where you go over the business side of things! This is off topic of the video, but I was wondering is it dangerous to use Pokemon images in advertising your store or product? Like on this channel's icon you have fan art of a phantump playing pokemon cards but your store's logo is much more generic colosseum image. Is that because of copy right concern if you made something more Pokemon related? and have you ever used or purposefully not used Pokemon imaging in your advertising? Sorry if this isn't the right way to ask questions, love your content!
My inventory isn't as large but I just sort everything alphabetically and mark the condition. Oh someone ordered a pikachu base set and an yveltal ex? Sweet I only have to look through two spots
As a new collector, trying to complete my first sets Shining Fates and Battle Styles...I can only image what anyone going through massive cards must deal with. Are the common cards valuable at all...I don’t see how it would be. Also, any way I can get added to you Chilling Rain Et, would love to be able to secure 2 booster boxes.
I use the same boxes for storing. I sort by era, set and set number. I’ve found that it’s super easy when I get orders to just reach for the “Swsh” or “XY” box that I need.
Alphabetical is crazy to me. I’m doing 4 row boxes, sorted by set, then by printing (rare, holo rare, rev holo rare, etc), then by number. Extremely easy to find cards when reading through a TCGplayer order sheet, I picked a 64 card order in a only few mins today
Do you sell on eBay to? I want to start my own ebay store online and I'm so overwhelmed on what to do. Ebay or tcg player?? Also how do you ship your singles? I just can't pay the $3-$4 to ship a single, plus ebay fees, and then 30% income tax. How are you supposed to make money???

@@DannyPhantump nice!!! There he is. Hey one question I've always had is how do you possibly make money selling cards for like a quarter when your talking bulk and stuff?? Also can you do a video on like taxes and fees part of it all??
Reprinting Cosmic Eclipse and earlier sets wouldn’t make sense because those sets are going to be out of rotation. Game-wise, why reprint cards if you’re just going to use them for like 3-4 months?
You know how I can tell you don't sell singles anymore? 2 main reasons, 1 this system you have is horrible and it is not very well thought out or tried and tested. And 2. All your recent videos are being negative AF an just shilling for views and doing negative content (which drives views) and shi^ng on on the game, the company and just in general sell out, pessimistic content creator stuff. A seller would never be trying to bring such negativity to the market. The game was way better without all these people jumping on ship but I know it'll be better for those that do care in the end.
People want to see the profit but dont want to see the hustle, much respect bro that is so much work on singles
For real
every set gets a box and put every card in numerical order. thats what id do.

Index cards work great for separation and don't take up alot of space might just need a little trim
