@@vacilator1185 do you need a DAC/Amp?
@@justine2865 well, yes and no. They will work just fine without an amp because they are low impedance headphones. But an external audio interface/dac/amp is always better, as Z has explained in his Gaming Audiophile guide.
@@vacilator1185 because I've read some other reviews that it lacks a bit of bass even for an open back. So I'm wondering if I would need a DAC/Amp to emphasize the bass more. In your experience, does it really lack bass?

I just realized I make a load of sex sounds in this video.. It would be terrible if someone were to make a supercut of them all to some dance music.
+Z Reviews I'm on it. Also I just sold all my old video games that I don't play to get a pair of these. Had to do something haha
+Z Reviews How are these for gaming? The price went up to $63.95. I'm going to buy them now before Philips watches this review.
Great for gaming. Forgot to mention it. I predict they will cost $70 in two weeks (because that is what they cost normally)
+Z Reviews Except they go for like $45-$50 every once in a while. slickdeals.net/newsearch.php?forumchoice%5B%5D=4&forumchoice%5B%5D=9&forumchoice%5B%5D=10&forumchoice%5B%5D=13&forumchoice%5B%5D=25&forumchoice%5B%5D=30&forumchoice%5B%5D=38&forumchoice%5B%5D=39&forumchoice%5B%5D=53&forumchoice%5B%5D=54&q=shp9500&firstonly=1

+Darkrai348 thanks for the info. I already bought them from Amazon for $63. Newegg has open box for $45.
I think you may be the sole reason for the price hike of these headphones.

how is the bass?
I'm no audiophile and these were my very first over ear headphones (I use earbuds), but I can say the bass sounds decent albeit I tweaked it with equalizers.
lol
Shit move, I have the shp 9500 and the HD 558 and the HD 558 is far superior not only in comfort and thicker earpads but also sound. Nothing else compares to the perfect sound signature of a Sennheise open back.

+Blythe Cass Bryston I listen mostly to rock, rock and roll and britpop. I kind of loving sennheiser because i dunno is the brand that get me into the "hi-fi sound".
But i like any kind of headphones as long as they are the most neutral as possible and have decent soundstage.

6 years later and I just unboxed these headphones. This is the first thing I’m hearing and already impressed. Hype is contagious
I've used these now for about 1.5 years almost everyday, usually for several hours per day. I can confirm their awesome comfort, especially for someone with glasses like me. I particularly like the fabric on the earpads. I had tried others with leather before which made noises by rubbing on my glasses frame when I turned my head. These don't. Also I don't have the sweatiness problem at all. Actually, they feel well ventulated because of their light and open structure.
Das what I wanna to hear, I have glasses some headset physically hurt
7:48 - "There's a man who wanders around town playing a fiddle."
interesting point
You should have practiced 40 hours instead of watching this video.
I've gone through beyerdynamic dt990's, 770's, sennheiser 58x and 6xx as well as the akg k712 pro's and my ears are probably not the best at discerning these things but I feel like the SHP's sound is not only on par but often just sound better to me than all the other ones. They are very inoffensive and not fatiguing at all and just like Z says they are by far the most comfortable headphones ever and if I'm going to be gaming a long session or wanna listen through a new album then comfort is really important to me and these are the only headphones that I have EVER tried that I can just wear for ages without issue.
For you to know, you do can replace the ear pad, take a credit card, get the card to push into the tight slot between the ear pad and the body, there are 4 hook between the body and the pad, push inside, and take the ear pad out. Use some forth to do that, it won't break.

I bought these 5 years ago because of this review
I still have them, they still do their job just as they did when they arrived (I've used them almost every single day more than 6h a day with many months of 12h+)
and yes, they're still the most comfortable pieces of plastic I've ever put on my head
I think I'm more comfortable wearing them than I am without... every time I use something else and then switch to these I almost cum from the cheer pleasure those cushions give.
I don't know if there are better options now, but if these headphones die on me, I probably will just buy them again...
Can i use this Bluetooth/wireless?

I've been a serious headphone collector for 20 years... I don't know what voodoo Philips performed to make the SHP9500 sound so good for the price, but they did it! By far some of the most incredible sounding headphones I've ever heard, and I've bought $600 dollar ones in the past from Sennheiser and AKG.... Unbelievable! I was a disbeliever but now I've converted to be a Philips headphone worshipper!
bought mine the day this video was uploaded. They're on my head right now, 4 years later. (and I can barely tell they are)
Mine are passed down to my fiance. Out of all my headphones... Some costing over 10x the price of these, we agree these sound better and feel better
Same. It's been five years and I'm finally replacing mine. I have ripped the cable out and dropped them countless times but they are like jelly, they just bounce and wobble.
I bought mine about 6 years ago because of this video. My earpads are falling apart and I still prefer these over all my other headphones. Actually such an amazing headphone.
same here, only reason i upgraded was because the felt is falling off the pads
highly recommend the philips x2hr as an upgrade, same level of clarity if not more and much better bass

They are incredible. I bought HD6XX and AKG K702 after these, looking for more upgrades. Ended up selling them because SHP9500 is just so comfortable and good sounding, couldn't justify the more expensive headphones which in my opinion didn't sound as good as these.
Philips should make a closed version of this so we can all gift it to our cousins and call it a day
mahee Best comment I read in awhile
Beats: nooooooooooo you can’t make good headphones for that price!!!
Philips: hahahaha $61 go brrrrbrrr brrr
Shreggo beats doesnt know what a good headphone is. Please don't mention beats when talking about audiophile grade headphones. In fact, just don't mention them at all. They sound HORRIBLE.
@@RATsnak3 yeah my friend was thinking should i buy beats headphones or airpods and i told him beats are shit and he said "what do you mean"
Mysiph have him listen to some actual good headphones lol
You realize these are open headphones right? You cant wear them on the bus or anywhere out in public cause they'd leak sound like crazy and you wouldnt hear shit on full blast. Plus they are ugly and humongous. While the beats are fashionable, have bluetooth, noise cancelling, and a more fun bassy sound. I own the shps and they're amazing to use at home but its kind of stupid to compare headphones in different classes meant for different crowd who listen to different music. You dont have to put other companies down to make your headphones look better, they are made for a different purpose. Just because it isnt for you doesnt mean it doesn't have a crowd out there.
Kamal Kumar 🤮 beats are overpriced garbage. You can get similar audio quality and comfort from a $20-$30 pair of closed back headphones. They're just not worth the exorbitant prices apple puts on them.
These are the real deal. Just got mine. I'm pretty new to the audiophile stuff and these feel like a godsend, cause I don't need another expensive hobby. With these, it didn't need to be.
When I listen to 'Glamour Profession' now, I can hear the difference between the trumpet in my right ear and the one in my left ear, like I can immediately tell that they were different takes of the same riff. 60 bucks with shipping and tax. What the fuck dude!

Hey Z, I'm a pro gamer turned ESL commentator for a newer FPS called Rainbow Six.
First of all, I'd just like to say how much I love your videos. Great to just listen to a review while I cook something.
To the point; I'm currently using the ATH AD900X which I love. Should I grab the SHP9500 for sound whoring(footsteps) over the AD900X? If not, is there anything I should invest in?
To be clear, I've read your gaming headphones post on reddit, but I'm still unsure what to go for. I'm not an audiophile and I have no gear outside of my headphones themselves. I may as well ask if I need anything extra for my AD900X. Should I just a dac and amp? Which ones?
Bottom line: definitive sound whoring headphones?
Again, great videos. Thanks for the entertainment. No need to answer if you're too busy.
the 900x are hard to step up from unless you know exactly what you want. More footsteps you might want something sharper or look planar like the T50rp Mk3's or Hifiman 400s. Those would be the biggest change in sound. BUT you may also need to upgrade your amp/dac, certainly for the Mk3's.
Thanks for the concise answer.

Your my new favorite you tube channel!
Alright, I figured I would leave some feedback on these after 3 years of daily use for those of you who are thinking about grabbing a pair.
I have owned MANY headphones over the years, and these are by far, without any doubt, are my favorites thus far.
I purchased my pair in April of 2017, and have been using them daily on my PC since, so they have definitely seen a lot of use.
I guess the first place to start when talking about these is sound. These were my first pair of open-back headphones, and I am absolutely a believer in open back now. The clarity and sound stage is amazing, if you haven't listened to any open back headphones, DO IT. While these aren't the most bass heavy headphones out there, I have to say they there is still plenty of bass for even me, someone who really enjoys bass heavy music. The obvious downfall of open back is noise bleed, so if that is potentially a problem for you, I would have to say stay away from these, because the sound bleed is ridiculous, anyone near you can hear exactly what you are hearing at a decent volume. Speaking of volume, these cans get LOUD, if you have something powerful enough to drive them to their full potential. (which doesn't take much because they are only 50 ohm).
I figure comfort is a good second topic to cover, and man, these things are super comfortable. I can wear these for several hours at a time and not feel any sort of pain that I usually do with over ear cans. They are super light, and the openings in the ear pads are large enough to completely go around my massive ears, and prevent my ears from touching the actual headphones themselves inside the pad. After a couple of years the stock pads finally got worn enough for me to see changing them out, so I went with the brainwavz XL pads, and holy crap, so worth it. Install is a chore, but if you're handy, I 100% recommend upgraded from the stock pads. (Though the stock pads are pretty decent themselves).
The only gripe I have with these headphones is that they feel sort of cheap, but they have held up with my daily use for 3 years with zero signs of failure besides the pads, which is to be expected.
To put into perspective how much I love these cans, I bought a pair of V-MODA Crossfade 2 Wireless ($300+) cans at the end of 2018, and the Philips still see way more use that those. I genuinely prefer the sound of the SPH9500 , and the comfort is on a whole other level.
If you are here watching this video, trying to decide if you want to spend the $80 (or less) on these, just do it, seriously. I would have happily payed $250 for these when I got them if I knew they were this good.
I concur
thank you
So I can use them without an amp? also they would use the speaker 3.5mm connector on my motherboard so i would be screwed connecting my speakers? how would you hook both up?
This is the best god damn review I've ever seen lmao. "The Fiddlers back!"
I came across these on accident. They look SO comfortable, my god.

+dacasman they are 69 right now!
+Ariel Méndez 95.99 now
Why are they so high now, maybe philips realised they could get more money out of them. Y do dis?
+Hanad ahmed
I heard they went out of production on head-fi, and that the higher pricing is out of scarcity. That and the rave reviews on them. Comparing them to the x2s, the reason for Phillips stopping production of these seems rather obvious
Holy shit, i forgot i even asked this questions. Thanks for the info m8
"Onto the sound" *talks about comfort again
After you did this review, I bought a pair of these. Still going strong today. I bought a pair of Beyerdynamics 990 Pros, couldn't stand the clamp, and they didn't really sound much better to justify 3 times the price, not to mention you can't change out the cord. 9500s still going strong! Best $55 I've ever spent! Thanks again for turning me on to these.
how does the sound compare to 990? also do you use an amp?

That sigh at 4:47 was great. Its that "reviewing this for a video is just making me superior these are all over again" kind of sigh. Anyway, thanks 7 years later for the review. Grabbing these today.
This is a pretty accurate review for these headphones, eargasm and all. I’d say that these are an immediate upgrade from the SuperLux HD668Bs, and they break-in really nicely and don’t need replacement ear pads. The one thing to watch out for is that your replacement cable has a decent lip for deep seated headphone jacks (phone cases and 1/4” adapters). The included cables (a short and long one) has the exact same lip as the cables from the HD668Bs which is great if you want to reuse the 1/4” adapter from SuperLux. I don’t mind the “spronginess” after I fixed it with a few hairdryer blasts.
On that note:How to fix rubber cable “sprong”-
1.Take and wrap offending cable around a wide metal cylinder (pencil holder or empty can). 2.With the flat winding secured around this cylinder, take a hair dryer to it and quickly unwind it after it’s been sufficiently heated. 3.Hold the cable taught as it cools, and repeat as needed until “sprong” has been removed.
Ty for the wallpaper link. I love how you link an image people might want from a monitor just in the video but then you have the fucks who post music on youtube and have a decent picture so it gets peoples attention then they don't link it. 10/10
I picked these up based on your review. And very happy with the sound very clear. They are extremely light and super comfy. There is bass but it's not over done just enough to know its there. These headphones made me sell my HD598s. I just don't understand how these headphones are this good for so little money. The only thing more baffling than that is why nobody else has been talking about them.
+EnsoZero How do these compare to the HD598? I have a pair of HD598s right now that I got for $90.
+Darkrai348 The sound signatures we're pretty similar between the two, soundstage was a bit more to my liking, but the 9500s were more comfortable. I have been wearing them 6-10 hours per day while working, so comfort is big to me.
I felt the 9500's had the wider soundstage. The 598's are lighter than the Phillips (270g vs 320g), but the Phillips were more comfortable and did not feel heavier.
Holy shit. You sold me in the first minute. I just bought one. This is probably the most pleasure i’ve had watching anything on youtube in MONTHS. Thanks for making a masterpiece.

I just got these today because of you... So far it's the 400s W/angled pads and these that I have, all as a result of your no bs reviews. I removed the stock pads of these because my ears would touch the drivers. If you throw in some brainwaves angled pads on these, or the ones from your modded shp9500, the soundstage opens so much and brings a more powerful bass.

got the headphone about two weeks. Love it so far!
These headphones are amazing. Let me repeat...amazing. I was looking for a good pair of headphones for my PS4 pro. I kept trying different pairs that had a mic and all of them sucked. I bought these for $55.00 and paired it with a vmoda boompro mic. wow is all I have to say. The Soundstage of Battlefield 1 is unreal. You can literally hear everything. What direction bullets and footsteps are coming from. People keep saying these have no bass, but I will argue that. The bass on these are great, not overbearing. They are extremely comfortable. If you are looking for an absolutely amazing pair of headphones for gaming and pair it with a vmoda boompro mic you will not be disappointed. I am not a sound freak audiophile, but I can, with 100% say, these headphones are unbelievable.
Luke Bland are you using a mixamp with them?
Bought a set of 58x a few years ago... found out about these. Bought them. A week later I sold my 58x I loved these so much. Used the money to get a ifi zen dac/amp combo (not needed I just had never experienced a amp or dac before) and holy mother of god. I honestly will never need anything more. These headphones are amazing. They could easily charge 250$ for them without a second thought. And they would still be underpriced.
Just received mine from Amazon a few days ago and they are shit the bed crazy good.
These are without a doubt the audio bargain of the century, maybe all time.
Hey, I really want to get some good open headphones but I'm a bit iffy about the sound leakage from them. How's the sound leakage on these headphones, anything you could compare it to when at about 75% volume?
@@isaactobar8549 I love these headphones but the sound leakage is pretty high. My MIC was picking up in game sounds coming from the headphones.
I bought it right after watching this video! Thank you Zeos !! I appreciate your work!
Z you were so right ma man, what a piece of kit and all that for a change! I was a bit vary of getting these after been extremely disappointed with my Fidelio L1. Now I feel this is how L1 should sound in order to be liked by folks like me ! Oh my Lord Almighty, where did Philips find such a deep Bass in fully open pair like this. Holy Molly, sweet Jesus, my favourite set for now. Love them even more than my DT 770 Pro Limited Edition. Thank you Z.
I dont know. They're good. But I still love my 6XX's more. BUT for a $60 headphones. They come really fucking close. REAL FUCKING Close. It's like a hair difference.
Listening to them a lot. Maybe it's my comfort with the 6XX's but while the SH9500 feel more grand in its space. It's kind of like listening to music outside vs a concert hall. When I'm listening to a bombastic horn behind the vocals. On the 6XX's I feel like I can look in my mind and pin point exactly where that person is sitting. On the SH9500's, they sound amazing but when I try to pin point a player's position, I can only give a general direction.
Although, i don't like the to depth of the cups on the SH9500s. My big ears rub against the back and that doesn't happen with my 6XX's.
I love when he plays with the clamp/headband. something about the bouncy motion and the sausage fingers makes whatever headphones they are really comfortable
Ordered these. YOU BETTER FUCKIN' BE RIGHT Z
Was he right?
+whynot yeah actually. I had been using HD555s for the past... I dunno 6 years? And these sound incredible, the bass alone is reason enough.
+Holland “RadicalPolio” Ayers thats reassuring to hear, thanks
+Holland “RadicalPolio” Ayers I heard the bass isn't as present on some "bass-enhanced" headphones, that's the only thing keeping me from 100% on board with buying these.
+Holland “RadicalPolio” Ayers Amazing bass and soundstage!!
TL;DW: "Fuck."
lmao
.... "you Philips"
I've had million headphones over years from 50 to 350$, and i always come back to philips that i once bought 5 years ago.. Yes they may sound not as clean as some of the more expensive headphones, but still, they sound clean enough to enjoy it, and the signature of the sound is so unique that i get more emotions from these headphones while listening to music than i get from other headphones.. I love them
"you painted your dog" / Z
Dude, you make me laugh. lol Best review moments:
- "Fuck you Philips! Lets start this review off right."
- "...and they're made out of this funky material that looks like it belongs on the seats of like an '89 Honda Civic."
- "I've got to put some detriments in this review, because otherwise I am just going to ejaculate all over them."
- "No fuck off Sennheiser shits..."
- "The fiddler! There's a fucking fiddler out there...I love this town."
- "Fucking Philips!"
Good stuff. lol Anyway, I am going to have to wait for the audio portion of the review, but it looks like I might have found my new pair of headphones. I trust your ear (you haven't led me wrong yet), and I am liking what I am hearing you say about them. For that kind of coin, they fall right into the "I am a cheap fuck, but demand primo sound quality for no money" category. Better than Sennheiser HD650's for no money? Done! I am sure I'll be lightening my wallet soon enough. Sweet! :)
I.ve watched this review dozens of times. I will come back to this review and then the sound demo and just enjoy the way Z reviews the phones. z is great. The Fiddler...I love this town. Still rocking the tascam th02.s with Zs pad recommendation. Have to get the velour pads next time. the pleather pads fell apart last year, making a mess all over the pillows and chairs, so i've got my ladies low black ankle socks over the whole phone on each side. I need to get the SHIPS!!!

Can you detail on how to get the wireless for this headphone?
Dude, they were on sale for $50 and I've got them just because ) and there are on your recommendation list. Even after owning x2 and k712 I still f***ing love them! They kind of more on casual side but they sound amazing and with ANY genres of music and they easy to drive , light, comfy, cheap! Every day kind of headphones no-brainer ! they don't replace my x2 BUT doesn't feel like a huge downgrade either when I use them on-to-go and driven by only by my zte 7 phone.
Thanks for the review. I bought these after watching your video about a year ago. The boompro with these headphones is the most amazing combo ever. Gaming, music, your covered for under a hundred bucks. No more goofy mod mic to worry about falling off my hd598's.
I own the hd598's and wonder about the soundquality, base and soundstage of these Philips compared to the 598's. Would you recomend the philips over the 598? Going to use them for gaming. Thanks!
Sound stage is a bit bigger on 598's. Bass is lighter on 598's. Less fullness to the bass and more punchy. They both work really well for gaming. I stopped using my 598's for gaming as the modmic and dual wire combo is more fiddly. shp9500 and boompro feels like a legitimate headset in comparison and they are really comfortable. I don't think one or the other will make a huge difference for gaming in regards to being able to tell where someone is coming from, but if sound stage is your concern, then 598's.
Hows the build quality 5 years later dude? You still use it? or encounter any problems?
I wanna buy this one as as my previous one broke around the cable ends ( ' v')b
@@nfrmis4825 never had an issue with them. I used them for about a solid 3 years and then retired them for Fidelio X2's which are also compatible with the vmoda BoomPro mic. Both have been great. Fidelios are about double the price, but more bass and fuller sound.
i just bought HD600's. i did not need to hear that right now. fucking fuck.
edit: FUCK
+Gary Don't worry, be happy.
Z Reviews
i guess at least my HD600s weren't built by slaves
*****
Philips are made in china. these are made in Ireland.
For the price this are really good but sound wise they are nowhere near as good as the hd 600 , i think Z exaggerated a bit on this ones....
+Porongotainsane They aren't as good as the hd600's but are 90% there. Amazing headphones for the price- a solid recommendation to most people who are just looking for a headset (v-moda boompro+9500), or a general set of headphones.
Z...
I bought them because of your review.
OMFG. Huge is an understatement haha. They are very comfortable, but not the "most" comfortable imo. They are damn close though.
The open back design is irritating, because i wouldn't mind using them around town, but not with that nonsense haha.
So far, I haven't broken them in (they are 50mm drivers, they need to be broken in lol), and i can tell the highs will soften up. The bass isn't massive, but the presence and soundstage is quite nice.
This headband feels like heaven haha.
Anyway, I have a motley assortment of headphones (cheap and expensive). My favorite are still my HDJ 1500's purely for the sound, but they are uncomfortable as shit. This is an amazing compromise for not a whole lot of money!
I bought these based on your review. I am very impressed with the sound and style. Great headphones!
Hey Z (this review earned you my sub--awesome job).
Q: Are these still the bee's knees here in 2020? What else is better at this price point?
Still king.
Highly approve of that wallpaper. Also, interesting review.
Thanks for the review! I just bought a pair of these for $58 and an SMSL SD793ii for $65. It doesn't seem right to have this kind of sound for next to nothing. Keep up the good work, you saved me a fortune.
Z you were right about the t50rps and you were right about these. I could write in caps here about how incredibly awesome they sound but you covered that in the video.
But I fail to understand how they cost so little. I got them for $55 on Newegg. I would have paid hundreds to get this sound. Thank you for persuading me to get these man.
Philips kept the build quality to affordable components, but still comfy, and probably spent the most development money on the drivers here.
first 3 seconds of the video and I know that the review will be good.
Good work Z
Marvin Fernandez lol "FUCK YOU PHILLIPS"
These are now at the top of my Christmas list.
me too c:
I love the true and raw honesty!
Watching this video with my shp9500 on
bought A pair of SHP 9500s days ago for under 60USD at newegg. They're comfortable for sure, I find myself not wanting to take them off indoor. Soundstage is just as Z described. Many thanks for the best
review on Philips 9500s. ✌✌👍👍
Well, it's 100 now. Hope you're happy.... :(. I want them so badly now and they upped the price! WTF. Also they don't even sell them where I live. And I live in The Freakin Netherlands for gods sake. The damn home country on freakin Philips........
+Appy Said I still think its worth $100. I got it for $120 and they sound really, really good. They sound better than most $200 - $250 headphones.
Ah, thanks for the tip. I'll keep that in mind for when ever I'm going to buy my new pair.
***** In my opinion, they do not sound better than HD 600s. If they were both at the same price point, HD 600 will be my first choice no doubt. Having owned both, I feel the sound quality on the 600s are better than the 9500s, in terms of soundstage and the bass impact is greater as well, which the 9500s lacked.
***** Using everyone is a bit of an overstatement, but the soundstage, to me at least, they are a bit identical, if amped correctly. When treble is involved, however, soundstage on the 600s are better maintained than the 9500s.
+Appy Said Back to under 75 dollar mark buddy. Just got mine.......
😂😂😂😂😂 subbed.... Too funny... I will look into these, I have the Bose Qc35 after having the Sony MDR1000X ... Now I want a HiFi, pair of wired headphones... Because, I want to buy the LG V20 or 30... And I want fantastic sound quality. For the quad DAC
I got these for a Christmas gift. I use them mostly with my Iphone 6s plus. 3/4 full volume is fine. Sound is very clear especially vocals. One thing I wish is that people would stop saying don't get these if you listen to rap or hip-hop music. I listen to mostly rap and hip-hop music along with other genre's. Rap and hip-hop fans should get these and re-listen to your library. I here more ad-libs in the music than I did before and the bass is enough! Listen to the song Hip-hop by dead prez and these can handle the bass in that song without losing the lyrics. Highly recommend from a hip-hop lover!
Bought these after I saw this review and I gotta say they are just ok... The Pioneer Se-a1000 with a high impedance adapter (hi res audio on LGV30) sound better. These sound very clean but just not clean enough on vocals or echos. Sound stage is alot closer but better than most but the Pioneer SE-A1000 let me walk around the layers.
Shhh... don't ruin it for us ;)
Comparison to the AKG K7XX's since they are the only 2 headphones I own. Running both on the Fiio e18.
The 9500's are of course easier to power which is nice, they are acceptable with no amp.
I prefer the K7XX's, the lyrics as well as the high's/ mids are more clear/ emphasized, they are right there in your ear. Low end is decent but of course they are open back so they aren't the best. They really are nice headphones, especially for casual listeners looking at the $200 price area($125 used). They are comfortable. Although they sag, the elastic strings attached to the headband are not very strong. I taped mine in place where I like them to be and they are fine.
The 9500's have a bit more on the lower end( again open back, so not the best out there) but the highs, mids, and lyrics are lacking. They sound further away. When listening to music it just doesn't sound as punchy as the K7XX's. But for gaming this is great, they have amazing sound stage, they are very light and comfortable, i can easily forget I'm wearing them. They also have a 3.5mm jack port, or whatever you call it, so you can use the vmoda boom pro with them which imo is the best headset you can make under $100. It's one cord so you can plug them directly into your controller(console gamers) The vmoda boom pro produces no buzzing which is something I had trouble with on the minimic(grounding issue). Another plus is the cord on the vmoda boom pro has a volume adjuster that adjusts the volume on the headphones once connected which is GREAT...They are not bad headphones by any means and for $60 they are hard to beat. Mine will personally be used for gaming but the casual music listener would be more than content with them. Especially since, like I said, a mobile device will be acceptable in powering them.
They are well worth the money, if you are looking for cheap, but good sounding headphones. Just my thoughts on the headphones.
If anyone has a set of headphones under $200 that they absolutely love I'd like to know about them(: Thanks
"If anyone has a set of headphones under $200 that they absolutely love I'd like to know about them"
AKG 273 Pro. After AKG 701 and DT990s these are just wonderful. 701 one lacks bas and the other has a V shaped sound.
