It's so helpful, thank you. I'm just beginning the "bokashi" thing. I didn't know how to handle all the fermented organic after (because it's not a new soil at all), was considering a vermifarm, but wasn't sure that I was ready for that. Your choice seems much more convenient for me

Great video as always. I'm glad you found bokashi. I too discovered it a couple of years ago and promptly added it to my plans for my future balcony garden. My apartment is still under construction, so I have to wait a bit more, but like you said, we start small and do what we can in the meantime. I've grown gardens before. In Italy and in the UK, both had quite a lot of in ground space, but I'm chronically ill and disabled now, so my next garden, in France, will be on a balcony up high. And we'll definitely be doing bokashi. I can't wait! Oh, and it was super helpful to know how the 2-bucket system cycles for a household of 2, just the info I needed. Many others are either single households or larger families and I couldn't get an exact answer from anybody I'd found yet. Thanks!

Very informative! Please let us know how to prepare the EM solution at home 🙏🏼🙌🏼
Can we use yeast instead of the EM solution?

Muchas gracias X compartir.

You can do it in paint buckets. Make little holes at the bottom of one bucket and place that bucket into another bucket. And now you get some space at the bottom where the liquids will collect. Fit a tap in the outer bucket to collect it.

thank you for this Video. I've been searching like crazy for a video where i can compost at home, but most videos just say "start with Bokashi composting and after that is finished, then just throw the compost cake into the bin" but i want to start composting because i want to reduce my trash. So really thank you.
i just have a question. At the end you just put the soil at the beginning and end, but have you ever layerd the cake and soil before? because my thought is that maybe that way the composting could go faster, cause i live in a apartment without any garden or balcony, because of that i have to do this step indoors and I'm scared that it will smell bad, so the faster it breaks down, the lower the risk of bad smell.

Love your channel. Because of your last compost video. I bought items to do both aerobic and Bokashi composting. Do you know if bread and injera can be composted using Bokashi method?

Can you plant directly in your compost or you need to add to (or over) soil?

Thank you very much for this wonderful video! I bought a bucket with a spigot but it has no sieve, do you think it will still work? Will the organic matter clog the spigot without a sieve?

For Bokashi cake can I add that to a container without holes?. Also where to put the container with Cake and soil? On a concrete or on a soil ?

@Bring Nature inside Hi I wanted to let you know that you don't need to clean the bucket in between if you don't want to because the same bacteria is going in to I've heard that it not only helps to speed up the bokashi process and results in less bokashi bran which is probably why the company also suggests to clean it.
I have done only 25 litres with a two bucket diy set up and it was easy but I dislike the vinegar smell from the liquid I think that I put to much bran compared to your video but I don't use the emi liquid spray though. I do use the vinegar liquid for my drain pipes though and I have a lot stored for fertilizer.

Thats a great idea i never thought of.. it would make the process much easier, i will give it a try…. :)

Personally, I don't wash the buckets after a Bokashi cycle, unless the process had something going wrong. The Bokashi bucket ist full of EMO of the previous Bokashi cycle that would speed up the fermenting process of the next cycle.

Here in spain i tried bokashi composting its expensive. .i prefare composting in place.making a hole in the ground and put directly your food waste..practical convinient and easy and free. Worry free!!
