I see this movie going one of two routes: 1. Everyone goes to see it regardless of their opinions of the trailer and it makes a ton of money. 2. Almost nobody sees it in theaters and it makes very little money, but when it hits streaming everyone will check it out then.

I think the movies gonna make a lot of money, but not because of the animation. Because it’s Minecraft. Little kids and families are going to go see it in droves. It’s not going to be a billion dollar movie, let’s get that expectation out of our heads right now. I see it doing a good $500-$600 million. And I think if the animation was good and not realistic, it would do the same as I think it would do. The trailer is still bad even if it’s animated or not, so the trailer studio needs to do more in the second trailer to get more people on board with the story.

I disagree with you on that a movie can’t use the Minecraft style because minecraft story mode is a good example being faithful to the og games style but could be movie level of animation.
One major issue is that nothing about the teaser got me interested for this film. The humor sucks and Jack Black not being "Steve" is a big turn off, along with the humans. What's worse is that Minecraft has already made incredible stories in their spin offs, Minecraft Story Mode and Minecraft Dungeons which also used the original art style. And that's another thing, you can change the art to be more cinematic to be more captivating, but giving squared creatures fleshy designs can come across as something that's AI generated. This movie was to not only bring in already anticipated fans but also people who didn't grow up with the game and unfortunately it's not landing with the majority.

People just need to just accept that this is how things are going to be and stop judging the books by the cover! The cover is not the book! Sure it's not what people wanted or expected but OMFG!
Comparing the veiws to the sonic movie and minecraft movie isnt fair cuz sonics trailer was uploaded by paramount, sega, and the sonic channels, which the minecraft trailer was only uploaded by warner bros. U need to add up the views from all the other uploads to make it a fair comparison.
I think the movies gonna make a lot of money, but not because of the animation. Because it’s Minecraft. Little kids and families are going to go see it in droves. It’s not going to be a billion dollar movie, let’s get that expectation out of our heads right now. I see it doing a good $500-$600 million. And I think if the animation was good and not realistic, it would do the same as I think it would do. The trailer is still bad even if it’s animated or not, so the trailer studio needs to do more in the second trailer to get more people on board with the story.

I disagree with you on that a movie can’t use the Minecraft style because minecraft story mode is a good example being faithful to the og games style but could be movie level of animation.

One major issue is that nothing about the teaser got me interested for this film. The humor sucks and Jack Black not being "Steve" is a big turn off, along with the humans. What's worse is that Minecraft has already made incredible stories in their spin offs, Minecraft Story Mode and Minecraft Dungeons which also used the original art style. And that's another thing, you can change the art to be more cinematic to be more captivating, but giving squared creatures fleshy designs can come across as something that's AI generated. This movie was to not only bring in already anticipated fans but also people who didn't grow up with the game and unfortunately it's not landing with the majority.
Let me guess, it's just the haters, trolls, and bigots, just like with Star Wars

the problem is casual fans dont notice all the obvious incorrect details like the crafting table item placement, the pigman holding a sword that doesnt exist, not even the buildings are proportioned correctly to minecraft its just a pixelated world. it feels like makers of this movie never actually played minecraft
